Zeblaze Stratos Review: Sports Smartwatch with GPS Module

Zeblaze has presented a new sports watch model called Zeblaze Stratos.

I have previously tested various models of smartwatches from the Zeblaze brand. Therefore, you can read my other articles by the link here. Also in this review I will share with you my experience of use, and tell you about the main features, functions and, of course, about the quality of performance.

If you look at the cost of the Zeblaze Stratos smartwatch, you can currently purchase the device for $50. This is not a particularly budget watch model and let’s go through the main technical features of the device.

For example, a 1.32-inch screen with a good resolution was installed on the front of the case. Also, the watch received many different types of training. In fact, Zeblaze is promising over 120 workouts and that’s really impressive. In addition, I can highlight the presence of a GPS module for more accurate tracking of the distance traveled.

In addition, the device has a good battery life and the manufacturer promises about two weeks of work on one charge level. Of course, the smartwatch has 5ATM water resistance. In general, if you are looking for a smartwatch for sports that is good in functionality, perhaps the new version of Zeblaze Stratos will be a good choice.

Thus, I propose to find out the main features of the new smartwatch model, and also in this full review you will learn about all the main nuances and advantages. For now, let’s start our in-depth testing with unboxing and appearance.

Unboxing and packaging

The new sports model of Zeblaze Stratos smartwatch is delivered in the most typical square package. On the front of which, there is a drawing of the device with the name of the model and brand. On the opposite side, there is a list of the main features. For example, these are 24 hours health tracking, over 100+ different types of workouts, sleep tracking and smart notifications.

Well, in the box itself, I found this smart watch itself with a protective transport film on the screen. In addition, a QR code was drawn on this protective film to install the application on a mobile device. In addition, the package also included instructions for use and a charging dock.

As you can see, the package is not very wide. But there is everything you need to fully wear smartwatches from Zeblaze. Therefore, now let’s talk about the quality of performance and other design features.

Design, build quality and materials

There will be only one color option for the new Zeblaze Stratos smartwatch to choose from. As you can guess, this is black. But the manufacturer also offers a choice of different color options for the silicone strap. My version was completely black, but you can choose green or blue for the strap.

If we talk about the materials used, then the smartwatch from Zeblaze was made from a combination of two materials. For example, the outer part, namely the bezel, was made of zinc alloy, while the inner part of the watch was already using matte plastic. In addition, there are two control buttons on the right side of the watch case and they were made of metal.

That being said, I can’t say that the build quality was bad. Quite the opposite, the assembly was very good and I did not find any squeaks or extraneous sounds during my testing. Also, the new generation of smartwatches Zeblaze Stratos received full protection against water under the 5ATM standard. This means that with this watch model you will be able to submerge to a depth of 50 meters underwater.

On the inside of the Stratos smartwatch case, there is a four-pin magnetic connection and a heart rate sensor. In general, everything is standard here, as well as on other models of smartwatches. In addition, here you can see that the watch strap is removable and you can replace it with any other option without any problems. Let’s talk a little more about the strap.

The strap itself was made of a very nice silicone material and it flexes easily. At the same time, the strap width was standard about 22 mm, and the total length was 270 mm. If you want, you can easily replace the strap with a metal or leather version of the strap.

The new Zeblaze smartwatch uses a 1.32-inch 360 x 360-pixel round screen. In the screen settings, you can choose one of eight brightness level modes or an automatic screen brightness mode. If we talk about color reproduction, the watch did not really stand out, since the simplest TFT matrix was used here.

Of course, AMOLED screens transmit the picture much better, but the price for such a watch will be two or even three times higher. But the maximum value of the brightness level was enough for using the smartwatch outdoors in bright sunny weather.

Now I want to talk about the wearing comfort and their size and weight. For example, the Zeblaze Stratos smartwatch received the following dimensions: 47 x 47 x 14 mm, and the weight was about 60 grams. It is not such a bulky watch that I was able to test and in general I did not have much discomfort while wearing it. That is, I could easily put on my watch in the morning and wear it throughout the day, and take it off in the evening before going to bed.

Functions, controls and mobile app

First of all, I recommend connecting the Zeblaze Stratos smartwatch to a mobile application called Zeroner. It can be easily installed via the QR code in the instructions or via the Play Store or App Store. But I’ll talk about the application itself a little later. Now let’s talk about the main functions and features of the device.

The watch’s home screen offers a fairly wide selection of different watch faces. Initially, the Zeblaze Stratos watch used eight watch faces that can be changed by holding a few seconds on the watch screen. But besides this, the device received the ability to install even more dials through a mobile application.

If we talk about the main control functions, then by swiping to the right or left, the main widgets of the smartwatch will be displayed. The first of the widgets is sport mode, 17 different modes are used initially. But if you go to the custom settings section and click on the plus sign, then in the section that appears you can find many different types of sports. In fact, there are over 100+ different types of sports training and finding the right one for yourself will not be a problem.

It should be noted that in such training modes as running, walking, cycling and climbing, there are GPS module settings. But in other training modes, the GPS module will not be used. This was done in order not to drain the battery level very quickly.

The next widget, after the sports modes, is the training status. In this widget, you can track your VO2Max. This feature will be useful for marathon runners in order to keep track of the travel times of various distances.

Then you can find familiar widgets such as heart rate, stress, SpO2, main menu and activities throughout the day. If we talk about the main menu, then it was displayed in the form of a circle. The main menu has the following features: compass, breathing recovery, events, language selection, heart rate, watch face selection and general settings.

In the settings of the Zeblaze Stratos smartwatch, you can activate the following features, such as 24 hour heart rate tracking, 24 or 12 hour time selection, smart track, setting date, time, watch information, restart and shutdown.

At the same time, to see the latest notifications, you need to swipe up from the main screen. And when you swipe down, a quick settings menu will appear, the so-called curtain. In this section, you can set the do not disturb mode, adjust the screen brightness level, activate the flashlight, stopwatch, timer, go to general settings, and there is a music player.

Ok now let’s talk about the mobile app and its main features. After installing the application on your mobile device, you can monitor the indicators of steps taken, distance, heart rate, oxygen level in the blood, and others. As I said earlier, you will also be able to install a large number of other watch faces on the home screen of the watch.

In the mobile application, you can also use reminders, a camera for remote shooting, set up notifications, and much more. In general, the mobile application of the Zeblaze Stratos smartwatch turned out to be very useful and has good functionality of various features.

Battery and run time

But the battery life really surprised me on the new Zeblaze Stratos smartwatch. A 580 mAh battery is used here and as for a smart wearable watch, this is a good indicator.

In terms of battery life, the manufacturer guarantees up to two weeks of use. But in fact, my watch was able to work for about 9-10 days with active use. Moreover, if you use the GPG module on an ongoing basis, then the battery life will be about 40 hours.

The watch is charged in about 2 hours via the magnetic charging dock. I did not have any particular problems with charging and the magnetic connection was kept quite tight.

Conclusion, reviews, pros and cons

After several days of active use, I can definitely say that the new model of Zeblaze Stratos smartwatch is worth your attention.

These are not simple everyday hours, but their main task is to play sports. Since there are over 100+ different sport modes to be seen on board. I also liked the work of the user interface. Each task opened quickly and flipped through functions smoothly.

Other advantages I can attribute to this large informative bright screen with a size of 1.32 inches. In addition, the device has been fully protected from water under the 5ATM standard. Well, the most important feature in a smartwatch is the built-in GPS module.

On the downside, the Stratos watch does not have a Bluetooth calling function. For example, the more budgetary version of the Zeblaze GTS 2 smartwatch has this feature. I did not identify any other strong flaws during my review.

Price and where to buy cheaper?

Currently, you can purchase the new Zeblaze Stratos smartwatch model at a very interesting price for only $51.99 with a 35% discount.

But the official store also offers to buy an additional protective glass for the watch screen, and then the price tag will be $53.94. It is also possible to purchase a docking station for transferring data to the watch. To be honest, I did not understand why it was needed, if the built-in memory on the watch was not available.
