The newly minted Xigmer brand has become another company in the wearable mobile device market. Today I want to share with you my emotions from using a fitness watch called Xigmer Lunar X01.
At the end of 2020, namely in the month of December, Xigmer introduced a new smartwatch model to the market. In general, this is the first product from this brand, but is it worth trusting a little-known Chinese company at all? You can find out my opinion in the full review below.
As for the cost, it is very attractive, as for a wearable smartwatch. Now the price tag for the Xigmer Lunar X01 is only $30, and for this price it will be practically problematic to find a device that is not bad in terms of functionality.
On the front of the watch, there is a round screen with a size of 1.3 inches and a good resolution. In addition, I liked the protection against water under the IP68 standard and many more useful features, which I will talk about in a detailed and in-depth review.
Therefore, I propose to start my story with the packaging and find out how the watch is assembled with high quality and from what materials. Next, you will learn how the functions work, features in real life, and I will also share with you the advantages and disadvantages.

Unboxing and packaging
The new Xigmer Lunar X01 watch comes in a fairly simple package. The quality of the cardboard is not credible, but for my test, the watch came in a whole box and without any damage. To be honest, I thought the Xigmer brand belongs to one of the subsidiaries of Xiaomi. But as it turned out, this is not entirely true.
On the front of the package, a drawing of the smartwatch itself is drawn with the name of the company and model. Yes, here I had the feeling that Xigmer copied a little design from the Haylou brand.
Inside the package, the smartwatch itself was waiting for me with a protective film on the screen. Also included in the package is a magnetic two-pin charging cable and instructions in English. I did not find any other accessories in the package. Thus, I propose to move on to the next section and talk about the quality of the materials and its execution.
Design, build quality and materials
After I saw the Xigmer Lunar X01 smartwatch live, I had no doubt that it is a similar copy of the Haylou Solar LS05 model. I have already reviewed this model of a fitness watch and you can read the full review here.
The exterior of the new Lunar X01 has a round dial and, as you can see, with a very minimalistic design. Therefore, the watch can be worn not only during training in the gym, but also at a business meeting.
I have no strong complaints about the build quality. Since the watch case is made entirely of monolithic plastic, I did not find any extraneous squeaks or sounds during my testing.
In addition, as I mentioned at the beginning of the review, the device has received protection from water under the IP68 standard. That is, you can easily wash your hands without taking off your watch and even bathe in the pool. But I will not advise you to dive to great depths or swim in sea water.
On the front of the case, there is a 1.3-inch screen that is standard in size. It received a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels and has a simple TFT matrix. This is not a bad resolution for budget smartwatches. For comparison, the Solar LS05 has a similar screen size, but the resolution is only 240 x 240 pixels.
I also cannot say anything negative about the maximum brightness level. There is enough of it here to use the watch comfortably even in bright and sunny weather. The text and information is read without any problems. Yes, it may not be as bright and color-saturated as the AMOLED screen. But do not forget that the price tag for the watch does not exceed $30, and does not exceed $80.
The side face of the watch received one single button that turns the screen on or off. It can also move back from any settings menu to the main screen of the watch face. The button itself has a good move and I had no problems with the responsiveness of pressing.
Meanwhile, the back of the case houses a dual-pin connection and a heart rate sensor. In general, there is nothing special here, however, everything is the same as with other brands. In addition, you may have noticed that the strap itself is removable and its width is 22 mm. This is the most common silicone strap that fits well on the wrist of even a thin hand. You will not have any problems with replacing it with any other version of the strap.
I also want to share with you about the size and weight. The new model of smart watches Xigmer Lunar X01 received the dimensions of the dial 45.3 x 45.3 x 11.4 mm, and the weight was only 45 grams. This is not the largest watch and they sat on the wrist very comfortably and harmoniously. Okay, now let me tell you about the controls and the main settings.
Functions, features and connection of application
Turning on the Xigmer Lunar X01 smartwatch for the first time will ask you to install the app via QR code. The app itself is called Step Fit and is available for both Android and iOS devices. Pairing with the mobile application and the watch is very simple and will not cause much difficulties for you.
It is also worth noting that the watch is connected wirelessly via Bluetooth 4.0. This is not the most recent version of the Bluetooth connection, so the power consumption with Bluetooth enabled will be higher than 5.0 or even 5.2. This, of course, is a significant drawback. Although I had no problems with the quality of the connection, and all the information from the watch was transmitted to the mobile application at lightning speed.
The main screen of the watch face has received a choice of five different types of designs. If you hold the button for a few seconds, the dial design will automatically change. Also, through the mobile application, you can install additional types of watchfaces. The watchfaces themselves are quite bright and display a lot of information.
As for the management functions, there is nothing complicated here. For example, when you swipe to the right or left, you will see widgets for the main features. I can refer to them – these are heart rate measurements, sleep analysis, weather, steps and the last – these are notifications.
When you swipe down, you can see the quick settings menu. In this section, I found icons such as turning Bluetooth on or off, do not disturb mode, device information, settings and brightness level settings. In the main settings, you can see almost useless features. This is, again, setting the screen brightness level, information about the firmware version, finding a smartphone, QR code to install the application and resetting the settings.
To get to the main application menu, you need to swipe up from the main screen of the watch face. Here I noticed features such as blood pressure measurement, heart rate or pulse rate, notifications, shutdown, settings, sport modes, sleep, music player, stopwatch and weather.
In the sports modes section, you can find the most popular types of workouts. For example, this is running, walking, working out in the gym and even working out in the pool.
If we talk about measuring values of heart rate and blood pressure, then I would not strongly trust the results. Since this is not a real medical device. But I want to point out that the heart rate readings were pretty believable. Also, inanimate objects, the Xigmer Lunar X01 smartwatch did not read the pulse, as is usually the case on budget and sometimes expensive versions of wearable devices.
Now I want to talk a little about the mobile application. It received a standard list of functionalities, like most other mobile applications. The main menu displays steps taken, distance, sleep quality, heart rate and other metrics.
In the application settings, you can set additional watch face styles, set reminders, for example, drink a glass of water or do a charge. In general, the list is very standard and there is nothing special here.
Battery and run time
Inside the case of the Xigmer Lunar X01 smartwatch, the manufacturer has installed a 250 mAh battery. Compared to the Haylou watch, the Solar LS05 has a 340 mAh battery.
At the same time, both manufacturers promise identical battery life. For example, this is 30 days in standby mode and 15 days in active use. Naturally, the Lunar X01 smartwatch model will not be able to achieve results in two weeks. But you can expect the result for 5-6 days of active use.
At the same time, the charging time of the battery through the two-pin charger was about 2 hours.
Conclusion, reviews, pros and cons
The new model of smartwatches Xigmer Lunar X01 received both positive and negative sides. So let me start with the good news.
The first thing I liked about the Lunar X01 is the bright and rather saturated screen with a high pixel density. I also liked the design with good build quality and materials used.
Naturally, I cannot pass by such a feature as protection against water under the IP68 standard. Other than that, I liked how the features and functions work. Even the heart rate readings were plausible, as the pulse was measured fairly accurately.
I can attribute to the disadvantages – this is the largest functionality. Since there is no function for measuring the level of oxygen in the blood, you cannot answer or receive calls, but only see notifications about missed calls or messages.
Price and where to buy cheaper?
The Xigmer Lunar X01 is currently priced at just $29.99 with a 30% discount. In fact, this is not the worst wearable watch that I have been able to test. But they have their drawbacks, like any smartwatch model.
Most likely, I would not strongly trust the new company Xigmer, since my trust is still worth confirming. Therefore, the experience of use will only show time, and in the recommendation I will leave you with a list of competitors that have already been tested and have good popularity and reviews.
