Xiaomi’s audio products are almost legendary. With hardly any other manufacturers you get so much sound for so little money.
However, Xiaomi has felt a bit neglected in Bluetooth earphones. For one, there are quite a few models of Xiaomi, on the other hand, there were also rather “discreet”.
This should now change with the Xiaomi Youth Version Neckband Bluetooth Earphones! For around $34 these Bluetooth earphones, which are once again only available in Asia, convince.
But does this succeed? Are the next generation Xiaomi Youth Version Necklace Bluetooth Earphone worth a recommendation? Let’s find out in the test!

Xiaomi Youth Version: Desing and Appearance
As the name suggests, Xiaomi Youth Version relies on a neckband design for his “neckband” Bluetooth earphones.
In this, the entire Bluetooth electronics, as well as the battery, etc. are placed in a bracket which you wear around your neck.
This is, of course, a bit strange at first, but quite comfortable, more about that later.
This bracket is made of a mixture of rubber and aluminum for the Xiaomi Youth Version earphones. The rubber provides some flexibility, the neckband can even spread almost straight, the aluminum at the ends, however, rather has an aesthetic aspect.
Yes, the Xiaomi Youth Version Neckband Bluetooth Earphones are very high quality and noble!
In addition to the ends of the neckband, the earplugs themselves are milled from aluminum, which makes them appear extremely valuable.
It looks more or less as if Xiaomi had simply reused his wired earplugs, which works fine since the Bluetooth electronics are in the neckband.
The neckband has three buttons for controlling the earphones. In addition to a universal button (on/off, play/pause, etc.), there is also a volume rocker, which can also forward and rewinds.
The micro USB port for charging the earphones is mounted under a rubber cover, which protects it from water and especially sweat.
Xiaomi Youth Version: Comfort
Due to the neckband design, the wearing comfort of the Xiaomi Youth Version Bluetooth earphones in our analisis is slightly different than with normal Bluetooth earbuds.
In this case, I mean this positive! All the electronics required for the Bluetooth connection are in the neckband.
This allows Xiaomi to use relatively ordinary earplugs, which are a good deal smaller than most Bluetooth earbuds. These are also good and ergonomically shaped.
Also, the cable exerts no pull on the earplugs, which is why these not only sit comfortably but also very firm!
The neckband is also very comfortable thanks to its flexible shape. In short, the wearing comfort of Xiaomi Youth Version Neckband Bluetooth earphones in the test is excellent, both for sports as well as for normal everyday life.
But of course only if you can generally make friends with the neckband.
Xiaomi Youth Version: Sound
Like all headphones and earphones, the Xiaomi Youth Version Neckband Bluetooth earphones in the analisis stand and fall with the sound, so how are these going to beat here?
I must confess to being torn a bit. Let’s start with the heights. These upper heights are very pronounced in the Xiaomi. The earphones sound here partly quite sharp, but in return also quite detailed.
Finer details are greatly illuminated by this elevation of the highs. Surprisingly, however, the lower heights and upper centers are relatively dull and sluggish.
The Xiaomi Youth Version Neckband Bluetooth earbuds do not manage to create a sense of lightness, although the brilliance in the treble is correct.
The general middle picture just with male interpreters is strong. Voices are beautifully rendered plastically and it’s fun to listen to the vocals.
But the bass tends to push itself into the foreground, especially with very complex songs. Similar to the upper trebles, the bass is raised a bit. This gives the Xiaomi a very strong momentum.
The bass offers a good quality. Also, the draft is neat, if not absolutely outstanding.
It’s always hard to express in words how headphones and earphones sound, especially when they have a more unusual sound signature than the Xiaomi.
My overall opinion about the sound has fluctuated very much. There are songs that really suit the earphones, where they sound great!
For example, Rescue Me by Thirty Seconds To Mars or Darkside by Dolla fits 100% to the earphones. Here, the strong dynamics brought the songs to life wonderfully.
In return, Californication from Red Hot Chili Peppers or The Mountain from Three Days Grace was a little sluggish and heavy.
Bonus points get the Xiaomi Youth Version Neckband Bluetooth earphones for extremely stable Bluetooth connection in the test. With my iPhone X, I could still use the earphones over 8 meters through an inner wall!
Unfortunately, the earphones lose these bonus points again due to a very detailed Chinese voice prompt every time you turn on/off. This is not overly disturbing, as well done.
Xiaomi Youth Version: Conclusions and Reviews
The conclusion to the Xiaomi Youth Version Neckband Bluetooth earphones is difficult for me in our review.
On the one hand, I see why you might like the earphones and what the strengths are, but on the other hand, I’m a bit torn between buying the earphones again.
Haptic and visually, the Bluetooth earphones like all Xiaomi products are incredibly good. Also, comfort is clearly a great strength.
These are the most comfortable Bluetooth earphones I’ve ever used. Of course, the neckband is controversial, but if you can live with it, this is a very convenient way to carry Bluetooth earphones.
Let’s get to the sound. The Xiaomi earphones offer outstanding detail reproduction as well as strong dynamics and a powerful bass.
However, the sound is just about the mid and highs quite heavy and a bit sluggish as I think. For some titles, this does not bother, for others for something more.
It depends on your taste! Bottom line, I would still hold back with a full-hearted buy recommendation at a price of over $40 but something. I think here you can get better, especially if you do not put so much emphasis on the sporting aspect.
Xiaomi Youth Version: Price and Where to buy cheaper?
This is a new generation of good-quality and build-quality wireless sports headphones, but what about the price?
Now you can buy Xiaomi Youth Version Necklace Bluetooth earphone at a good and low price of just $33.99 with 17% OFF in Chinese stores.
For someone who is looking for some good to very good Bluetooth earphones for jogging and likes a slightly heavier bassier sound, the Xiaomi are certainly not a bad choice!
