At the end of last year, I tested very interesting QCY T5 earbuds that I really liked. But today we will talk about the updated model Xiaomi QCY T5 Pro.
This is an improved version of the T5 and I will definitely compare both models in this article. I will also tell you what are the main features of the improved version of wireless earbuds.
Like its predecessor, the T5 Pro earbuds are in the ultra-budget class. For example, the price for TWS earbuds will be around $27. I want to point out that the price for the T5 was exactly the same, but now you can get the earbuds for only $18.
The main features I can attribute are the presence of a wireless charging box, armature driver, game mode, touch controls, and a good capacity of the charging box.
Therefore, I propose to proceed with a complete and detailed review of the new QCY T5 Pro wireless earbuds. As usual, at the end of the article, you will learn about the advantages and disadvantages, as well as whether it is worth buying this earbud model.

Unboxing and packaging
The new QCY T5 Pro wireless earbuds come in a familiar and colorful box, like most of the latest QCY earbuds. On the front part, the earbuds themselves with a charging box are drawn, and there is also the name of the model and company.
On the reverse side, there are technical specifications with the main features. You can also find a lot of other information about the manufacturer here.
Everything inside the box is standard – this is a charging box with earbuds inside, a set of ear tips, a MicroUSB charging cable, and instructions. I note right away that the instruction will be of little use. Since even the QR application did not work for me.
As for the quality, there is no point in expecting it here, because these are budget earbuds. Therefore, I note that when listening to music, I recommend replacing the ear tips with better ones. At least that’s what I did when listening to music. But about the sound quality a little later.
Design, build quality and materials
When I first saw the new generation QCY T5 Pro earbuds, I initially thought it was a regular QCY T5 model. Yes, indeed in appearance it is completely the same as the previous version.
For example, matte black plastic is used here. It feels very nice indeed. But if you have wet or sweaty hands, then fingerprints will easily remain on the headphone case. Also, I have nothing bad to say about the build quality. Since the earbuds are well assembled, and the gaps and joints are at an acceptable level, as for budget inexpensive TWS earbuds.
The same goes for wearing comfort. QCY T5 Pro received in-ear earbuds with ear tips, but at the same time, they have a long leg. During my testing, the earbuds did not fall out, even when running fast. They sat comfortably in the ear canal, but the fatigue from prolonged wear would make sense. I can also note that the weight of one earbud was about 4.4 grams.
The T5 Pro model can be attributed to the sports category of earbuds. Do you know why? Thanks to the IPX5 water resistance. You may not be afraid of sweat or light rain, but you cannot completely wet the earbuds. Yes, if you dip them in water for a short period of time one or more times, they will work. But how they will work is another question.
On the front, there is a touch panel and an LED indicator. On the back of the earbuds, there are contacts for charging and a channel designation. A microphone was installed at the bottom of the leg and this is the best solution. If we talk about a sound guide, then it is universal. That is, not the longest and not the shortest. I think for many users it will not bring discomfort.
As for the charging box, it received the same matte black plastic on the QCY T5 Pro model. But, as I already mentioned, it leaves well marks from wet or greasy hands.
The build quality is at a decent level, and the lid itself opens smoothly and without any questions. Also, from the front of the box, you can find two LED indicators, and on the backside, there is a MicroUSB port. On the positive side, I can mention the presence of wireless charging in the box.
I cannot understand why the manufacturer added wireless charging and left the old MicroUSB port? This remains a big mystery to me, but won’t get hung up on it, and let’s move on to the touchpad communication and control section.
Connection, application, and control
Like most budget TWS earbuds, the QCY T5 Pro has a Bluetooth 5.0 wireless connection. I can’t say anything bad about the quality of the connection, the signal was stable throughout my entire test.
This earbud model received support for audio codecs only AAC and SBC, but aptX is not on board. But this is not so scary, since the device has a game mode of operation.
That is while playing shooters, I could play with great pleasure and I did not feel a strong delay in the sound. The same goes for watching videos on Youtube.
In addition, the earbuds were equipped with a useful function. It is automatic ear detection. That is, when you put one of the earbuds out of your ear, the music playback stops, and when you put it back in your ear, the music starts playing again.
And now a little about the branded application. QCY T5 Pro received a standard earbud application from QCY. In it, you can find features such as customizing touch gestures, adjusting the equalizer, and even getting an earbud update.
It uses very intelligent touch controls. I will not describe how they work about all the functions. But I will say that the earbuds have great functionality to control, and as I wrote above, you can customize it to your taste in the application menu.
Sound and microphone quality
But the sound quality made me happy since the QCY T5 Pro received armature drivers. In many cases, inexpensive wireless earbuds have dynamic drivers, but not with the T5 Pro.
Speaking of sound quality, I especially liked the sound of the low frequencies. The earbuds got good bass that sound nice and most importantly deep. For the first time when I heard music through this earbud model, I was pleasantly surprised. For example, if I didn’t know the price, I wouldn’t think the T5 Pro is budget.
The same goes for the midrange, the sound is very clear and has a nice and good tone. But on the high frequencies, you need to work a little, although I can not call them terrible.
I can also note that the volume level is sufficient and if you like to listen to music louder, then you will not have any problems with the T5 Pro.
The quality of the microphone is pretty good. Since the microphone is located in a good place and even in noisy and loud places, the interlocutor will hear you quite well.
Battery and battery life
The battery capacity in the charging box in the QCY T5 Pro earbuds is 600 mAh. This is much more than that of its predecessor and almost twice. But I did not find any information about the battery capacity in the earbuds themselves.
As my practice has shown, at 70% volume level, the earbuds worked for about 4.5 hours. This is a solid figure for inexpensive TWS earbuds. In addition, the charging box is capable of providing about 5-6 full recharges and the total battery life will be about 30 hours.
But the charging time of the earbuds will not be so fast – about 2 hours. And if you use the wireless charging box, then a full charge will take about 3 hours of your time.
Conclusion, reviews, pros, and cons
The QCY T5 Pro is a stylish wireless earbud that hasn’t received much design changes from its predecessor. But if you look at the technical component, then the earbuds have a big advantage over their older model QCY T5.
For example, I can note the presence of an armature driver, a solid indicator of battery life, and also good sound. The presence of a game mode and multifunctional touch control makes the earbuds clearly a win-win compared to competitors.
On the downside, I can attribute it to a rather old MicroUSB connection, as well as soiled plastic. Although the latter is already nit-picking since the price tag for the earbuds is very attractive.
Price and where to buy cheaper?
Now you can buy QCY T5 Pro at a good and low price for only $27.51 with a 54% discount. If you use cashback and coupons, then the price tag can fall by another 3-4 dollars.
So buying new wireless earbuds from QCY will be a good investment. They are well suited for sports, as for music, and also for games.
