Another flagship smartphone from Xiaomi was presented the other day and today I have it in my hands for a full review. The name of the next monster was given to Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro.
In this test, I will share with you my first impressions of the device. I will also tell you what I liked and disliked about the updated model of the flagship smartphone from the Xiaomi brand.
Officially, the smartphone was presented on September 30 of this year and after the first days, you can easily buy it at a good price. For version 8/128 GB of memory, they ask for $565, and already 8/256 GB of memory will cost you $600.
A little about the differences between the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro and Mi 10T, they are not that big. For example, the Pro version has a 108-megapixel main camera, and the Mi 10T has a 64-megapixel one. I have not found any other differences yet.
As for other features, both models use a 6.67-inch screen with IPS matrix and 144 Hz refresh rate, the flagship Snapdragon 865 chipset. In addition, there is a 5000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging.
Therefore, I propose to start my full and detailed review of the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro, and first of all, I want to talk about the configuration and design.

Unboxing and packaging
A box of the usual size, which is made in black, came to my review. On the front, I did not find any picture, but only the designation of the company name and model.
The first thing that met me when opening the box was a small envelope-box in which I found – a needle for a SIM slot, instructions, and a protective transparent silicone case. By the way, the case itself has an interesting engraving with the name of the company – Xiaomi. It is also half made of transparent and matte silicone.
Next comes the smartphone itself in a protective transport film and the main features, but I will talk about them a little later. The last thing I found was a 33W power adapter and a Type-C power cable.
Thus, the package is very typical for any smartphone in the Xiaomi line. Therefore, for me, it is a little strange to see that there are practically no differences in the configuration between flagship and budget smartphones. Now a little about the appearance and assembly.
Design, build quality and materials
The big difference in the appearance of the new Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro is hard to spot when compared to its predecessors. For example, the dimensions of Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra and Xiaomi Mi 10 remained almost the same – they are 165.1 x 76.4 x 9.3 mm and weigh about 218 grams.
Also, I did not notice the difference between the screen sizes, all models in the Mi 10 line use a 6.67-inch screen. But to my surprise, I was a little disappointed that the Mi 10T Pro received an IPS matrix, and not AMOLED or OLED, like the Mi 10 5G and Mi 10 Ultra, respectively.
The screen resolution was 1080 x 2400 pixels. The aspect ratio is 20: 9 and the pixel density per inch are 395 PPI. During my testing, I did not find strong graininess and individual pixels were not visible to the naked eye. As for the brightness, it was 500 nits and this figure is, in principle, sufficient for daily use in sunny weather.
But the presence of 144 Hz frequency in the screen is a solid indicator for a flagship device. It will certainly have a positive effect on games and even in everyday use in the user interface.
In the upper part of the screen in the left corner, there is a round cutout for the selfie camera. The cut itself is almost invisible if you pick up the right picture on your desktop. But I’ll talk about the camera itself a little later.
There is a large 108-megapixel sensor on the back of the smartphone and it is immediately noticeable as it is larger than the others. There are also two additional sensors with a light sensor and an LED flash.
Oddly enough, the fingerprint scanner is located on the side end on the right side. There is also a volume rocker next to it. The fingerprint scanner itself works smartly and accurately, so I have no complaints about it.
The top of the smartphone has an infrared sensor and microphone holes. But on the bottom, there is a speaker, Type-C port, and a slot for dual nano-SIM cards. Unfortunately, there is no headphone jack or room for a memory card.
But another feature is stereo sound. As I said, one speaker is located at the bottom end, and the other is on top of the screen, that is, the earpiece. The sound quality is at a very solid level, even bass is heard and the sound is very clear and loud.
Now a few words about the materials of use. The Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro uses Gorilla Glass 5, both on the front and back. But the frame is made of aluminum alloy. As usual, these are premium materials, but you need to be careful with glass, as it can crack at high altitudes. Thus, carrying a smartphone without a protective case will be a little silly and I always advise you to use a high-quality case to keep your smartphone like new. I also note that the back glass is quite easily soiled and fingerprints remain very easily.
If we talk about protection from water and dust, then the Mi 10T Pro model does not have it. As for a flagship smartphone, this is very sad. But I always remember about the price, which does not exceed $ 1000, as is the case with the brands Samsung, Sony, and other manufacturers.
Performance, benchmark tests, and OS
All models from Mi 10 have the same processor, including the new Mi 10T Pro – the Snapdragon 865. This is by far the best and most flagship chipset. It has not only high performance but also low power consumption.
Many users already know a lot about what the Snapdragon 865 processor is capable of, and I will not dwell on this point. But as usual, I will leave an album with the benchmark test results, where you can analyze the obtained values yourself.

In terms of gaming capabilities, the Adreno 650 graphics accelerator is capable of running even the heaviest games at ultra-high graphics settings. Therefore, Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro can play any games like any gaming smartphone.
The new smartphone model comes in two versions – 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of internal memory. As I already mentioned, there is no memory card slot here. Therefore, the more space you choose, the better. Since the 108-megapixel camera does not take pictures of the smallest size.
The device has a familiar user interface – this is MIUI 12, which runs on the Android 10 operating system. An interesting feature is the new design of the retractable top curtain and much more. The user interfaces itself is nimble and fast. The multitasking is high and opening many applications will not be a problem for the new Mi 10T Pro.
In addition, the device supports Wi-Fi 6 technology – these are ax networks. Also, the smartphone has a wireless Bluetooth 5.1 connection, support for the NFC module, and fast GPS signal recognition.
Camera and sample photos
Many mid-budget smartphones like to install four or more cameras on the back. In the case of the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro, only triple-camera modules are used. It is a 108MP camera with an f/1.69 aperture for basic photography. There is also a 13-megapixel module with f/2.4 aperture for ultra-wide shots. And a third sensor with a 5-megapixel resolution for macro photography.
As a selfie camera, a good 20-megapixel module with an f/2.2 aperture is used. As an example below, I will leave a few sample photos.
As for the features, I can refer to them as the cloning function. That is, you can make an interesting exposure of two or three identical people in one picture or video. I played quite a bit with this feature and really liked it.
As for the video, it is not bad here. For example, the main camera is capable of shooting video at 8K resolution and 30 frames per second, but there will be no stabilization. But 4K resolution with 30 or 60 frames per second has stabilization and a good picture, both day and night.
Overall, I liked the 108MP main camera. It takes high-quality pictures with good detail and color reproduction. The same goes for the ultra-short sensor. And macro photography seemed superfluous to me, and its quality is not the best because of the small resolution.
By tradition, I will leave an album with examples of photos taken with Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro and you can evaluate them yourself.
Battery and run time
The big improvement in the new Mi 10T Pro is the increased battery capacity from 4500 mAh to 5000 mAh. This is a pretty good battery capacity that can last up to two days of active use.
Of course, if you want, you can discharge your smartphone in one day. For example, if you always use 144Hz refresh rates, play demanding games, and do heavy tasks.
But as my practice has shown, the battery life of the Mi 10T Pro has increased by 10% when compared with the Mi 10 or Mi 10 Ultra models.
The charging time will take you about 1 hour and 10 minutes. Yes, it uses fast charging with a 33W power adapter.
Conclusion, reviews, pros, and cons
Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro is a modern flagship smartphone that has focused on photos and videos, as it has a main camera of 108 megapixels. Although, the 5MP macro camera is not a strong point for the new flagship device.
Also, the smartphone received good build quality, materials, and an interesting design, especially when it comes to the rear panel.
The performance and operation of the user interface remain the same as for other models in the Mi line from Xiaomi. But that doesn’t mean performance is poor. On the contrary, I liked the responsiveness, speed of work, and good multitasking.
A little about the screen, yes, an IPS screen is used here, as on most mid-range smartphones. But here it is special, as it has a 144Hz refresh rate and many other interesting features.
In addition, the battery life has become longer due to the larger battery capacity. This will allow you to use your smartphone longer than its older brothers.
Of the minuses, I can note – this is the absence of any protection against water and dust, as well as there is no slot for a MicroSD card and a headphone port.
Price and where to buy cheaper?
Currently, you can purchase a new model of the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro smartphone at an interesting and low price for only $565 for the 8/128 GB version and for $600 – 8/256 GB.
In fact, I liked the smartphone, even with its minor flaws. It has a good combination of price and technical features & specs. Thus, I can gladly recommend it for purchase.
