I am no longer surprised that Xiaomi and its sub-brands will soon take over the world with their interesting gadgets and devices. Today I would like to share a little of my experience with one e-bike called Xiaomi HIMO C26.
Previously, you may have read my tests such as HIMO C20 and HIMO Z16. If not, I can post a link here.
In this review, you will find out my personal opinion on the build quality, how the new electric bike model is driven. In addition, I will talk about its main advantages, but also disadvantages.
The price tag for an electric bike is rather big, which was about $1,450. But in a couple of days, there will be a sale on 11.11 and then you can purchase HIMO C26 at a price of $1250.
First of all, the new model of the HIMO C26 electric bike received large 26-inch wheels, a powerful 250 W electric motor, a maximum speed of 25 km per hour, and much more.

Design, build quality and materials
The main and biggest difference between the new HIMO C26 between its predecessors is its size. If you want a big, comfortable bike that will feel comfortable on rough roads then the C26 is a good choice
Yes, the Xiaomi HIMO C26 electric bike is not compact and its frame does not fold even for big cities – this will be a big problem. But I suppose that the C26 bike will be ordered for small towns, where the road is not the best.
Now a little about the dimensions – the width of the handlebar is 67 cm, the length is 170 cm, the seat height at the lowest position is 80 cm, and at the highest – 106 cm. At the same time, the bike weighs about 20 kg.
The frame is made of metal alloy and the build quality is high. For example, I did not find any strong flaws in welding joints or other elements. Overall, I liked the way the HIMO brand manufactures its products.
As for convenience, I can attribute to these moments – this is the fact that the frame itself is slightly concave inward. This allows the bike to be used not only for men but also for women and teenagers. In addition, I liked that the electric bike was equipped with an additional parking leg.
In terms of movement, the bike was equipped with a good front fork with a shock absorber, which efficiently dampens even serious pits and bumps.
A small but rather bright LED flashlight was installed above the front wheel, which is powered by the main battery. The range of the illuminated path was about 5 meters at night. On the back under the seat, there is a red reflector and an LED red light.
But the taillight is already powered by separate batteries and for many, it will be a slight inconvenience. Since if the batteries run out at night, it will be difficult to find a new one. And driving without a flashlight on the roads is not safe.
Rear and front brakes – disc and braking distances in my practice were very minimal and short. In general, it is safe to break even at high speeds, but the main thing is to press the brake lever on both sides of the steering wheel.
The main heart of the Xiaomi HIMO C26 bike was installed on the rear wheel – this is an electric motor, but I’ll tell you about its performance a little later. Even if the built-in battery runs out, you can easily ride with foot power. There are seven gears on the rear wheel and they are shifted on the steering wheel.
Now the most important thing is the battery itself. It sits at the bottom of the frame and is easy to miss. Here you can see on the right side a charging hole with a plug through which you can charge the battery. Most importantly, this battery is removable.
Therefore, you can use a special key to unlock the lock and remove the battery. This method will be useful if you store your bike in a garage or driveway. And so you don’t have to carry the whole bike home, you can simply remove the battery and take it home to charge.
Okay, I’ve talked about the look and build quality, but now let’s check the main features and how the bike behaves in practice.
Performance and driving emotions
On the steering wheel of the Xiaomi HIMO C26, you can see a small monochrome screen that displays the main information. For example, these are battery level, speed, travel time, distance, daytime travel, and operating modes.
To turn on the screen, you must press the lower right button. Mode switching is carried out by two buttons on the front, plus or minus. There are only three operating modes – eco, medium, and high. Each mode depends on the speed of work, naturally, at maximum, you can move at the highest speed – this is 25 km per hour.
The power of the electric motor was 250 W and the drive wheel was rear. That’s not bad power for a modern electric bike.
As for the battery capacity, it was 10Ah. This means that with a combined movement you can travel up to 100 km. If you move purely on electric traction, the path will be up to 40km. This indicator may be different depending on the operating conditions.
Now about the most important thing – what emotions the Xiaomi HIMO C26 gave me. When I first used it, I was very surprised by the dynamics of acceleration, despite its large wheel size and weight.
Indeed, the electric bike quickly picks up speed, as well as other things, and slows down. But it should be noted that it is impossible to get underway on electric traction, but only at a speed of 4 km per hour. So it might be a bit of a nuisance, but I can assure you that most bicycles work on the same principle. Since this guarantees a long work not only of the battery itself but also of the wheel electric motor.
In addition, I have ridden a lot of hundreds of kilometers on this bike and I can say with confidence that it is much more comfortable than its younger versions. And all because of what? It’s simple – because of the large 26-inch wheel size. Any bumps, holes, and even off-road conditions will not be a problem for the Xiaomi HIMO C26.
Conclusion, reviews, pros, and cons
Xiaomi HIMO C26 is not only a modern electric bike for urban use but also suitable for light off-road use.
I especially liked the build quality, the materials used, and the comfortable fit with my 175cm height. I guess this bike is suitable for teenagers, girls, and even seniors.
The main disadvantage is its size and the fact that the bike frame does not fold. It will be problematic to transport it in the trunk of a car, as it does in public transport.
Price and where to buy cheaper?
