We spent about one week with the new Umidigi Power, to get to know him and to some extent compare it with similar brothers.
Models like the Umidigi F1 and F1 Play are very similar to each other with Umidigi Power, but each has its own advantages. What are the benefits of Power, you can find in our review.
The main difference is its price since Umidigi Power can be bought for only $139.99.
The name of the model, though Power, but it is budget and inferior to the specs of F1 and F1 Play.
Umidigi Power received a 6.3-inch screen with Full HD resolution and waterdrop notch, an Helio P35 processor, a larger 5150 mAh battery capacity, the availability of NFC for wireless payment and much more.
Therefore, I propose to start an in-depth review of the box and what is inside.

Umidigi Power: Unboxing
Like all models from the company Umidigi, budget smartphone delivered to us in a matte black box. On the front of the box is the name of the company.
On the back side – the main technical characteristics.
Inside the box, we found the following components: a thank-you card, a phone in a protective film and case. Below the device lay the charger and Type-C cable in red.
With a complete set figured out, now I would like to pay attention to ergonomics.
Umidigi Power: Design and Appearance
As I mentioned earlier. Umidigi smartphones are very practical in appearance. This applies to Umidigi Power in our test which is made of matte plastic and is very similar to rubber. The back panel is very similar to the F1 and F1 Play models, both the materials and the build quality.
Of course, the back of the smartphone looks very nice and elegant. Then I noticed a dual camera just below the LED flash and in the center of the fingerprint scanner.
The whole smartphone is slightly rounded from all sides, so it looks very ergonomic.
The front is a large screen for almost the entire area of the front surface. On the top, there is a waterdrop notch for the front selfie camera, and above it, I see a conversational speaker.
The inputs and outputs are located on the edges of the smartphone. The slot for nanoSIM and microSD cards is on the left side.
On the right side of the rocker volume control and the power button.
On the underside are the main microphone, 3.5 mm headphone jack, speaker and Type-C port. I was glad to see on the Type-C budget smartphone for fast charging.
As for the size, they are very compact, since the display occupies most of the front surface of the smartphone – 157 x 74.5 x 8.8 mm and weighs only 190 grams.
Umidigi Power in our analisis is a good and very convenient smartphone. Due to its large battery capacity, it seems a bit thick, but this is not a big disadvantage. Yes, it is impossible to use one hand, but the ergonomics and appearance are very comfortable.
Umidigi Power: Screen
We already know that Umidigi installs very good or even excellent displays in its devices, and the same applies to this smartphone.
A large 6.3-inch display IPS FHD Plus 1080 x 2340 pixels (409 ppi) and an aspect ratio of 19.5: 9, occupying 84.31% of the front surface of the smartphone. Of course, it supports multitouch 10 touch touches simultaneously.
Now I see that the edge of the glass is curved with the well-known 2.5D curve, which corresponds to the design itself, and the screen takes 96% of NTSC color and has 1200: 1 contrast.
The manufacturer does not provide any protection for the glass, although I believe that there is something. I see how the protective film, which I recommend leaving on the screen. Since it additionally protects the screen from scratches and other mechanical damage. It also reacts strongly to the touch of a finger, even if it is slightly touching your nails.
It is expected that the display of content on the screen will be excellent, the clarity of icons and letters at a height. Also, the colors are clean and fairly strong.
In the settings (Display -> Temperature and Color Mode) you can determine which color of your color suits you, and it is convenient to adjust to your eyes.
We always measured the brightness of the screen as our measuring device, and we got a rating of 473 lux, which is enough for comfortable use even on a sunny day.
Umidigi Power: Hardware and Performance
Since this is a budget smartphone, Umidigi Power in the test uses the well-known processor called Helio P35. Almost every third smartphone comes with this processor, so performance will not be a secret to our hero.
Also, Umidigi Power has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory, in addition, there is a slot for microSD memory cards up to 256GB. I did not find any problems with the memory capacity, it will be enough for all cases of life.
This is a mid-range processor with a 4-core IMG PowerVR GE8320 processor at 680 MHz, so the games should run smoothly. Here are the impressions of our gamers.
PUBG Mobile is a third-person shooter, a real military action game. The game works smoothly, but at low graphics settings, the device’s heating is low.
War Robots is a third-person shooter. Like the first game, I did not find any problems and discomfort, the device warms up low.
Asphalt 9 is still the most popular racing simulator on the Android platform. The game runs smoothly, from time to time there are jumps. Warming up the device is not enough.
In general, as for its price, the Umidigi Power smartphone copes by 100%.
Umidigi Power: Software
The smartphone is running the new operating system Android 9.0 Pie, which has an almost clean interface. The Umidigi Power model in the analisis has the same interface as its older brothers, big differences are hard to find.
What matters most to me is that the smartphone works very quickly and smoothly. At some point, we did not feel any slowdown or any problems. Even 4GB of RAM is more than enough for everyday work. All you need is to get rid of unnecessary applications from time to time, and all that will be guaranteed to work smoothly.
The smartphone is designed for the global market, supporting all multilingual languages, including English and other languages of the region.
Among the tools, we also find a digital compass, a voice recorder, and a “wallet”. Umidigi Power supports contactless NFC payment.
In the settings, you can add a fingerprint scanner, such as Face Unlock, all in the section “Security and Privacy”.
We have found many useful applications that can help you in daily use of this smartphone. In general, you will find a lot of things on this smartphone, for example, FM radio.
Umidigi Power: Cameras
The cameras are very good, and I believe that you will enjoy them and use the camera often. As I mentioned earlier, cameras are one of the accents on Umidigi smartphones.
The front camera of Umidigi Power in the test has a 16-megapixel camera with an f/2.0 aperture. Also, the camera supports face recognition and unlock faces.
Of the additional features, I should mention the intellectual mode (AI), portrait and accelerated recording, but most of all I stopped at the version with the AR lens, which smiled at me well with my capabilities.
The Umidigi Power rear camera has a 16 megapixel and an additional 5-megapixel camera. The first sensor has an f/1.8 aperture, and the second sensor has an f/2.2 aperture.
The camera, of course, supports face detection, HDR, panorama, filters and can capture the bokeh effect, as well as Pro recording mode, where you can adjust everything manually. There are some additional features, such as night mode, quick shots, vivid pictures and tags, which means that you can insert different tags (stamps).
We took some photos in different shooting conditions. With sufficient light, the photos have good contrast and sharpness. Of course, at night, the quality of photos falls significantly.
The camera can record video in Full HD format with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and 30 frames per second (1080p at 30 frames per second). Also in MP4 format.
Umidigi Power: Sound
The loudspeaker is located at the bottom of the case. At first glance, I feel a lack of volume and power. You can always use an additional headset through a 3.5 mm audio jack or wirelessly via Bluetooth.
We tested several of our test compositions with the highest quality FLAC and with the help of our measuring device we measured the speaker power (about 50 centimeters) at 78.3 dB, which is below the average of about 80 dB.
Umidigi Power: Communication
As for connectivity, we can say that this is an advanced smartphone that supports a number of new technologies, such as 4G LTE + VoLTE networks, as well as NFC.
Also, the optional “noise reduction” microphone is set well, so the quality of the conversation is excellent. The smartphone supports hybrid Dual SIM, uses nanoSIM cards and does not have microSD memory expansion.
When testing GPS, we found 36 satellites (20 actives) with an accuracy of 2 meters.
Umidigi Power: Battery
One of the main aspects of Umidigi is the presence of a large battery capacity.
In our tests, the battery showed itself very well, given its capacity. This is a non-removable lithium-polymer battery with a capacity of 5150 mAh, supporting fast charging (charger 12V/1.5A).
The charging speed was checked and the following results were obtained (after 5 consecutive measurements):
– 44% for 30 minutes
– 75% for 60 minutes
– 98% for 95 minutes
– 100% for 107 minutes (1:47 hours)
In our test for battery life with a permanently on the screen (at 60% brightness), the battery worked for 12 hours and 30 minutes, which is a good indicator.
Umidigi Power: Conclusions and Review
I have to admit that Umidigi Power made me smile, especially when you know its price. The company Umidigi pleases us with high-quality smartphones, especially recently.
This is a budget smartphone with a high-quality large screen with waterdrop notch for the front camera, a well-proven performance. The memory will be enough for everyday life.
The camera also surprised me, as the pictures came out bright and quite clear, as for its price of a smartphone. Of course, not taking into account night or low-light images.
The presence of Type-C and 3.5 mm audio jack makes the phone an attractive device and multifunctional.
Also worth noting about the incredible autonomy of Umidigi Power and a clean operating system running Android 9.0.
Umidigi Power: Price and Where to buy cheaper?
Given the price, it seems to us that this is a good purchase. Now you can buy a Umidigi Power smartphone at a low and attractive price for only $139.99 with a 30% discount.
For relatively little money, you get a modern and versatile smartphone that will delight you with its performance for everyday tasks.
