F1 Play is equipped with a 6.3-inch screen with Full HD+ resolution, Helio P60 processor, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory, also a 48-megapixel sensor and 5150 mAh battery capacity.

Umidigi F1 Play: Unboxing
Umidigi makes an almost identical box design with a good filling for all its models. In our hands got a black box. On the front, we see the logo Umidigi. On the back of the box, there are the main technical characteristics.
Inside the box, as with the F1 model, a thank you card for your purchase. Also, the phone itself is red with a black silicone case.
Just below are located a needle for SIM cards, instructions in English, Type-C cable and power adapter with 9V and 2A.
Therefore, it is difficult to find any differences between Umidigi F1 and F1 Play, at least in the packaging segment. Everything is done at the perfect level, and you might even think that this is the flagship smartphone. Now let’s talk about F1 Play ergonomics.
Umidigi F1 Play: Design and Appearance
I want to immediately note that the design and quality of materials in both models Umidigi F1 and F1 Play is identical in our test. Therefore, according to external signs, it will be difficult to identify where the model is.
Like the F1, the Umidigi F1 Play is made from a plastic and nice case back. You can also see here a dual camera with a flash in the upper left corner. In the center, there is a fingerprint scanner and the name of the company at the bottom.
We can say that Umidigi F1 Play has the most design features, like on the flagship smartphones.
Compared with the glass back panel as in the latest Xiaomi models, the Umidigi F1 Play uses plastic but is very pleasant and of high quality, so it will be more practical. Also, the glass back panels always leave fingerprints, this feature you will not find on F1 Play.
According to some reports, the screen of the Umidigi F1 Play smartphone occupies 83.7% of the front surface. On the top, you can see the waterdrop notch for the front camera and conversational speakers.
All physical keys, like other Umidigi smartphones, are located on the right, this is a volume rocker and a power button. A hybrid SIM and micro SD card slot are installed on the left side of the device.
At the bottom of the device is the USB Type-C port, which is located between the microphone and the speaker, and there is also a 3.5 mm audio jack for your headphones.
Umidigi F1 Play in our analisis has dimensions that will not be problematic for most users, and will be relatively easy to use with one hand. Dimensions and weight are 157.0 x 75.0 x 9.0 mm and 187 grams. With a battery capacity of 5150 mAh, the thickness and weight of F1 Play really liked.
Umidigi F1 Play: Screen
Like the external characteristics, the size and technology of the screen have not changed in the F1 Play, as in the F1 model.
Umidigi F1 Play received a 6.3-inch IPS-screen with Full HD + resolution with an aspect ratio of 19.5: 9 and a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, which provides a clear image of 409 pixels per inch.
This is a very solid screen for its price rating, which provides a very good display of colors, viewing angles and brightness, which is at the level of smartphones of other mid-level companies, such as Redmi Note 7.
In the display settings, you can further adjust the contrast, and there are several different color profiles, and it’s best to leave us the default settings.
Users who like to read on their smartphone in the late night hours have a “reading mode”, which when turned on reduces the blue color. The screen’s light becomes warmer and more yellowish, and it’s much easier to read in the dark while others are sleeping.
It can be said that this screen gives the user the most important thing: a very good color display, excellent contrast, and viewing angles – all this is nothing new because Umidigi always offers very good screens on its smartphones.
Umidigi F1 Play: Hardware and Performance
Umidigi F1 Play in the test comes with not the latest version of the processor, but with a very reliable and proven hardware configuration, which we could see on the smartphone of the middle class.
The configuration makes it excellent thanks to the MediaTek MT6771 or Helio P60 processor, which is a direct competitor for the Snapdragon 660. This processor model has been used in our tests several times and has proven to be excellent, fast and energy efficient.
The Helio P60 has been on the market for about two years, and we can describe it as an energy-saving element of a middle-class processor that does not disappoint with its capabilities.
This middle-class processor, in combination with graphics and RAM, provides a fast and convenient user interface and has enough power for those who like more demanding games.
Recall that the Helio P60 is based on 12-nm technology and is a 64-bit processor. It comes in combination with an ARM Mali-G72 MP3 graphics processor operating at 800 MHz.
As for the memory of Umidigi F1 Play, where the smartphone has received slight improvements compared to the F1 model. Our hero received 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory. Even if the internal memory is not enough, you can increase up to 256GB using an SD memory card.
What matters most when used in real time is that this processor and its hardware provide us with a good user experience.
The hardware configuration of the Umidigi F1 Play smartphone in our analisis based on this processor is great for both everyday use and demanding games.
The Helio P60 is designed for mid-range devices, and performance tests were conducted. The benchmark results are somewhat weaker than those of the competitive Snapdragon 660 processor. But judging by how this smartphone works, it is almost impossible to notice the difference between them.
Umidigi F1 Play: Software
Like any smartphone from the company Umidigi, the operating system is built on a clean operating system. In our case, Umidigi F1 Play received a stock Android 9.0 Pie version.
Thus, F1 Play which we used for the review, came with a stable global user interface.
All Google services are already present in the user interface, so setting up a smartphone from the first moments of use will not be a problem.
The operating system on Umidigi F1 Play is fast and stable. Without open background applications, only 4.5GB of RAM is available.
Umidigi F1 Play: Cameras
I was very surprised that the mid-range smartphone uses a sensor like the flagships. That is the main camera with 48 megapixels. The same sensor was installed on the Xiaomi Mi 9 or OPPO F11 Pro.
Thus, this Umidigi F1 Play dual rear camera consists of the above-mentioned Sony IMX586 wide-angle sensor with a resolution of 48 megapixels with a pixel size of 1.2 microns and an f/1.75 aperture with an additional 8 megapixels for the bokeh effect.
The camera application is the same as on other Umidigi smartphones.
The AI function on this camera supports the recognition of up to 238 scenes and objects.
In addition, this application provides support for a variety of different shooting parameters, such as HDR shooting mode, HHT (manual twilight), lightning, face detection, panorama mode, night mode, various filters, white balance settings, the ability to fine-tune white balance, focus, shutter speed, and ISO.
The front camera is equipped with a 16-megapixel sensor that offers many facial features. And with the help of the front camera, the focus is on various AI functions, such as scene recognition AI, blurred background AI, as well as some additional features such as Auto-HDR, intelligent brightness optimization, Video Beautify function and others that will delight every selfie lover.
Umidigi F1 Play: Sound
On the bottom of the smartphone, Umidigi F1 Play is a hole for the speaker, which is traditionally located next to the USB Type-C port. We cannot complain, because the sound is of excellent quality and good volume, which will be satisfactory for the vast majority of users.
Also for some, it will be a big plus to have a 3.5 mm audio jack for headphones. The sound through the headphones is good but does not stand out from other competitors.
Umidigi F1 Play: Communication
The Umidigi F1 Play smartphone in our test, which came into our hands with the global version, offers support for all our core networks, including 800 MHz LTE.
F1 Play has a slot for two nano SIM cards, and in addition to 4G LTE network support and Dual SIM (Dual Standby) support, the device also comes with VoLTE HD voice communication standard via the 4G/4G+ network. It guarantees the best sound quality when making phone calls.
When testing, there were no problems with 4G signal reception and good sound quality.
It is worth noting that Umidigi F1 Play has a wireless NFC payment. Also dual band Wifi with AC networks. The quality of the GPS and the location found quickly without any problems.
Umidigi F1 Play: Battery
The smartphone Umidigi F1 Play comes with a non-removable lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 5150 mAh and a fast charger 9V/2A.
Work autonomy provides you with approximately two full days with moderate use.
Slightly less demanding users who do not spend so much time on their smartphone can land an F1 Play battery in 3-4 days.
During the day, when using the Umidigi F1 Play smartphone, including synchronization of mail, social networks, surfing, games, and listening to music on YouTube channels, then at the end of the day you will have from 40 to 50% of the battery charge.
Umidigi F1 Play: Conclusions and Reviews
Although the device of the middle-class F1 Play is distinguished by its premium design and high-quality assembly.
Umidigi F1 Play is a full-fledged representative of the mid-range phone, which is replete with many features, like the flagship smartphones.
One of the best features of all Umidigi models is that they are available in the global version. Therefore, you will not have problems in the user interface and networks.
The performance of F1 Play is at a good level, as for the middle-class device. Helio P60 processor will ensure stable operation of the phone with heavy games with medium graphics settings.
The camera with the Sony IMX586 sensor as the flagship model provides excellent photos, both during the day and at night.
Also, do not forget about the autonomy of working with a battery capacity of 5150 mAh.
In general, if you have time now, you can buy a good budget phone for your money.
Umidigi F1 Play: Price and Where to buy cheaper?
Already, you can order and buy a new model of the Umidigi F1 Play smartphone for only $199.99 with a 26% discount. Also can buy a phone for only $99 using coupon code: GBMPUMIF1. The prices for Umidigi F1 and F1 Play are identical, but I would recommend buying the latter since it has a better camera and more RAM.
As for the money, the Umidigi F1 Play smartphone turned out to be very attractive specifications. F1 Play also competes easily with Redmi Note 7 and even surpasses in some aspects.
