Following the successful Tronsmart Apollo Bold wireless earbuds, the company decided to update its Apollo line. Today we will talk about a new earbud model called Tronsmart Apollo Air.
These are unique earbuds that have received many interesting features and I want to share them with you. Also in this article, you can find out how the earbuds sound in real life, and I will also tell you about the main advantages and disadvantages of this model.
Before talking about the main features, let’s check the price tag Tronsmart is asking for. You can currently get the Apollo Air model of earbuds at a very sweet price for just $49. I can attribute these earbuds to the mid-budget class of devices.
Now let’s go through the main technical features. The first thing that makes the earbuds stand out is, of course, the presence of the ANC active noise cancellation function. The device also received a Qualcomm chipset with an aptX codec.
On the plus side, the new wireless Bluetooth 5.2 version is dust- and water-resistant under the IP45 standard. Well, the earbuds clearly have wide functionality and great potential. Therefore, I propose to start my detailed and in-depth review in order to find out the real possibilities of the new model from the Tronsmart brand.

Unboxing and packaging
Like any Tronsmart product, the new Apollo Air earbud came to me for review in a very bright package. This is a rectangular box where on the front you can find a drawing of earbuds and a charging box. There are also icons with basic characteristics and features.
In the meantime, the back of the package received a list of technical specs, which I described at the beginning of the review.
In the packaging itself, I found the following components. This is, of course, the charging box itself with earbuds. There was also a set of various documentation, such as instructions, warranty, and more. Yes, without a Type-C format charging cable and a set of silicone ear tips.
In general, the equipment itself turned out to be standard, but it has everything you need for full use and listening to music. But now let’s check the workmanship, and how comfortably the earbuds sit in the ear canal.
Design, build quality and materials
The company has released its new line of Tronsmart Apollo Air wireless headphones with a very interesting design. The headphones remind me of a barrel with a small foot. A 10 mm graphite driver was installed inside the case, but I will tell you about its operation a little later.
The earbud housing was made of glossy plastic. As you may know, the glossy plastic is not my favorite material. Therefore, after my testing, you should be able to observe some abrasions. Also, fingerprints remain well on the glossy body.
Tronsmart offers a choice of two colors – black and white. On my review, earbuds are white. But I think black will look just as good as white.
As for the comfort of fit, I did not find any particular problems while wearing it. Yes, you may not be able to wear it all day, since the weight of one earphone was 5.5 grams. In addition, do not forget that these are in-ear vacuum earbuds. Therefore, short breaks during wearing will obviously not be superfluous.
But it was a pleasure to play sports. They were firmly seated in the ear canal, even though there were no special ear hooks. When running, I had no doubt that the earbuds would fall out at the wrong moment.
It is also worth noting that the earbuds are protected against dust and water under the IP45 standard. But this is not full-fledged protection against water, that is, it will be impossible to swim with earbuds in the pool or take a shower.
The outer part of the TWS earbud case received touch control with the company logo. There is also a small LED and three microphone holes. But on the inside, there is a two-pin connection for charging the earbuds through the case. Okay, let’s talk about the charging box itself in more detail.
I was pleasantly surprised that the box itself was already made of matte black plastic. This is an order of magnitude better and more practical than the glossy design of the earbuds. Therefore, after my testing, the box looked new and did not have much wear.
As for the quality of performance, I had no strong complaints. Although the lid hinge was made of plastic, I did not find a strong backlash. But the magnetic connection itself was pretty strong.
On the front of the box, there is one battery level indicator. The back of the case received a Type-C charging connection with a mechanical pairing button. Thus, I have no particular problems with boxing. Therefore, now I propose to talk about signal quality and touch control.
Connection, latency, and touch control
The new Tronsmart Apollo Air wireless earbuds have received the latest generation of Bluetooth 5.2 version. Also, onboard the device has a built-in Qualcomm QCC 3046 chipset with audio codecs aptX, AAC, SBC.
During my testing, I found no connection quality problems. My smartphone-connected using the aptX codec. These are modern earbuds, so I did not find any extraneous noise or delay.
In addition, I was not only quite comfortable watching various videos on YouTube but also playing games. For example, PUBG Mobile performed relatively well in terms of minimum latency levels.
But the automatic auto-pause sensor is not provided here. But the manufacturer Tronsmart has a proprietary application. With it, you can customize different genres of music, change touch control functions and of course receive firmware updates on the earbuds themselves. Incidentally, during my tests, I was able to update the earbuds to a newer version.
I also have no particular complaints about touch control. That is, there are many functions here and let’s talk about them in more detail.
- One-touch increases or decreases the volume level depending on the channel.
- Double-tapping pauses, plays, accept, or puts a phone call.
- Holding for 2 seconds switches the track forward or backward.
- One-touch and hold for 2 seconds calls the voice assistant function.
- Triple tap toggles between ANC, transparent and normal modes.
Sound and microphone quality
With the correct selection of silicone ear tips, Tronsmart Apollo Air earbuds received very good passive noise isolation. The surrounding sounds will definitely not disturb you. But if this is not enough, then you can use the active noise canceling function. This will allow you to further isolate yourself from the world around you.
The ANC function works very well since the surrounding noises of city traffic generally cease to annoy you. Therefore, enjoying music or watching videos on YouTube will be a pleasure.
But if you do not need passive noise isolation, then the manufacturer has made a transparency mode. With this mode, you can easily hear the surrounding sounds and even communicate with your interlocutor. But it is not surprising that the sound quality of the music will not be the best during this mode.
Speaking about the sound itself, I really liked the sound of the new TWS earbud model from Tronsmart. I didn’t even want to compare Apollo Air to its competitors in terms of the price range. That is, such earbuds from the brands Xiaomi, Haylou, QCY are not at all comparable with the new model from the Tronsmart brand.
At the same time, low frequencies received a pronounced sound with a rather voluminous and deep bass. The mids and highs are rich in nuance, nuance, and detail. For example, musical instruments are played in detail, and the vocalist’s voice permeates your soul.
In terms of style, the new Apollo Air is absolutely omnivorous. Without any problems, you can listen to something complex musical, such as classical or rock, and more popular performances.
As for the sound quality of the microphones, I didn’t have any particular problems here either. Yes, it is possible that in noisy places the interlocutors will not hear you as well as in a quiet place. But the intelligibility of my speech, even in the noisiest places, was very good.
Battery and run time
There is not much onboard battery capacity in the Tronsmart Apollo Air model. For example, the manufacturer installed a battery with a capacity of only 35 mAh onboard the device. Despite this, the battery life is very good.
During my testing, the earbuds lasted about 4 hours and 55 minutes at 60-70% volume. If you use the function of the transparency mode or active noise canceling, the battery life will be reduced by 1 hour. When using the charging box, the total battery life will be 20 hours.
I can also note that the earbuds are charged in just 45 minutes through the box, and the box itself was charged for me in 1.5 hours through the Type-C connection.
Conclusion, reviews, pros, and cons
After my standard measurements and tests, I am completely satisfied with the new Tronsmart Apollo Air wireless earbuds.
These are the ideal earbuds that are comparable to the more premium models in terms of sound quality. While listening to music, you will definitely get a wow effect from different genres and styles.
Also, I did not have any particular problems regarding fit and wearing comfort. That is, you can use the earbuds for both everyday and sports purposes.
I can also highlight the correct operation of the transparency modes and the active noise reduction function. I was also very pleased with the wide functionality of the touch control. It has all the necessary functions, including volume control.
The disadvantage I can attribute is the lack of a proximity sensor for automatic pauses. Also, I was not particularly pleased with the glossy housing of the earbuds themselves.
Price and where to buy cheaper?
Given its characteristics and how well the new model of Apollo Air earbuds plays, I can definitely recommend them for purchase. This time, Tronsmart went to a whole new level that surpassed all my expectations.
You can currently purchase and buy Tronsmart Apollo Air wireless earbuds at a very low price for only $49.99 with a 45% discount.
