SoundPEATS Truengine SE: Unboxing
SoundPEATS is not the first earbud manufacturer, but the packaging design remains almost unchanged, except for the name of the model and the picture on the front.
Inside the box, I found a well-packed charging case with earbuds inside, instructions, a micro USB cable and a pair of silicone ear pads.
What can I say, as for budget earbuds – this is a typical and standard kit. But I’m still a little glad that the appearance of the box looks unusual and has a nice design.
SoundPEATS Truengine SE: Design
The earbuds with a case are made of nice matte plastic that fits well in the hands.
They are quite light, for example, a box weighs about 43 grams, and each earphone is about 5 grams.
The ergonomics of the earphone are quite interesting and it got a good shape for my ear canal. Therefore, during testing, the earbuds held tight in my ears and did not cause any discomfort for long-term wear.
On the front of the earbud housing, you can see the company logo, which is lit either blue or red in the on the state. This logo is the headphone control button. There are also microphone openings nearby, two microphones are installed in the headphones, one main, and the second with noise reduction.
On the inside of the headphone casing, you can see transparent plastic through which two dynamic drivers are visible.
The sound guide got a small angle and a long channel, which allowed me to install the earbuds well in my ear. Also on the base of the sound guide, there is a mesh that protects against dust and dirt.
In addition, you can see three contacts for charging through the case. Also, the name of the channel was indicated on the side face – this is the right or left, a little not the typical solution.
The SoundPEATS Truengine SE earphones are standard IPX5, which can protect against splashes and sweat. Therefore, they are easily suitable not only for daily listening to music but also for sports.
As I said, the case is made of the same material as the front part of the earbuds. On top, you can see the company name.
On the front side, there are four indicators that indicate the level of residual charge in the box.
The lid opens well, without any backlash and has a magnetic connection.
On the back of the charging case is a micro-USB port for charging. Of course, I would like to get a Type-C port and forget about MicroUSB connections once and for all.
Appearance and build quality, SoundPEATS Truengine SE wireless earbuds are a solid ten out of ten points. The earbuds are quite ergonomic and comfortable to use, and the build quality and materials deserve their attention.
SoundPEATS Truengine SE: Connectivity and Control
The first time I connected to my mobile device, I did not have any problems. The earbuds use Bluetooth 5.0, which kept the signal stable during the entire use of this model of headphones. Intuitive connection, if you do not know how to connect wireless headphones, I will tell you.
First, you need to get the earbuds out of the case, the logo will turn blue and red, then go to the Bluetooth menu on your smartphone or other device and select the desired device from the list, in our case, it is SoundPEATS Truengine SE.
On control – it is standard and there will be no difficulties. But unfortunately, there will be no volume control.
One-click on the button – play/pause or answer/put the handset. If you press twice – switch tracks forward or backward. Triple tap – call the voice assistant on your mobile device.
SoundPEATS Truengine SE: Sound
Dual dynamic drivers are installed inside the case, there is also a QCC3020 chipset for high-quality sound processing.
The dual dynamic emitters provide a pleasant and very dynamic sound on all ranges.
For example, the low frequencies received a clear and detailed sound that is pleasant to listen to during daily trips to work or school.
The basses are very saturated and have good elasticity, which ensures low good and surround sound.
The mid and high frequencies thanks to the dual drivers got a really nice sound, which is not typical for wireless earbuds.
The frequencies at maximum volume are not overwhelmed and have a fairly voluminous and clear sound. Vocals, both female and male, sound clear and crystal clear. Each musical instrument worked well and is clearly audible.
The earbuds are good for listening to genres such as pop, alternative or even jazz. Of course, they are not hybrid, but the sound is very clear and surround.
The quality of the microphone is good, of course, you will not get perfectly clear sound through the microphone, but the interlocutor will not complain much about the sound, and I heard the interlocutor distinctly.
SoundPEATS Truengine SE: Battery
Inside each case, there is a 50 mAh battery capacity and plus an additional charging case with a 500 mAh battery.
As practice showed at maximum volume, SoundPEATS Truengine SE worked for about 5.5 hours. Indeed – this is a solid result for its class. The total battery life using the case will be about 26 hours.
The charging time through the case will be approximately 2 hours through a micro-USB connection.
SoundPEATS Truengine SE: Conclusions and Reviews
Once again, SoundPEATS demonstrated unexpectedly cool wireless earbuds, which received some features.
The main thing that distinguishes this model is dual dynamic drivers that perform their work flawlessly. The sound quality received good dynamics and purity, but at the same time, surround and massive bass will also be present.
Among the shortcomings are the micro-USB port and the lack of wireless charging. The rest, for example, the build quality and materials used are very high.
Also, do not forget that the earbuds have good ergonomics. While wearing, the earbuds did not put pressure on my ear canals and I could wear them almost all day without removing them.
