I haven’t tested SoundPEATS products in a while. But today I want to tell you my impressions of a new wireless earbud model called SoundPEATS T2.
In fact, the official show of this model was three months ago. But just the other day, the manufacturer decided to release it to the global market for all users.
Therefore, in this full and detailed review, you can find out not only how the earbuds are assembled, but also I will share with you the main advantages and disadvantages.
In terms of cost, the SoundPEATS T2 is currently priced at just over $50. These are the mid-budget TWS earbuds we’ve seen lately.
Although if you look at the technical features, then call the earbuds from the SoundPEATS company budget, well, the language will definitely not turn out to be. For example, ANC has used onboard the device. There is also a large 12mm dynamic driver and Bluetooth 5.1 wireless connection.
In addition, the manufacturer has installed a transparent mode function, which will be useful for most users. I can also highlight the high battery life with sweat and splash protection under the IPX5 standard.
Overall, the earbuds look like most modern 2021 devices. But let’s find out how good they sound. Therefore, I planned to start my testing with the appearance and equipment.

Unboxing and packaging
During my first acquaintance with the SoundPEATS T2 earbuds, I was pleasantly surprised by the compact and small packaging of the new TWS earbuds model. For example, this is the typical bright packaging from the SoundPEATS brand. On its front or back, you can find striking designs of the T2 earbuds with the main features.
Inside the package itself, I discovered that this is a different set of documentation. There was also a charging box itself with earbuds inside. And in a separate box, you could find a Type-C charging cable with silicone ear tips.
Thus, I can make a small conclusion that the set of earbuds from SoundPEATS looks standard and there is nothing unusual here, given its initially low cost.
Design, build quality and materials
Most TWS earbud companies sometimes offer a wide variety of color options. For example, it can be black, white, blue, or green. But unfortunately, the new model of SoundPEATS T2 earbuds comes in only one version – it is in black.
Despite this small flaw, I cannot say that the earbuds are badly assembled and executed. That is, the manufacturer used matte plastic in its performance. As you may know, I am a fan of matte plastic as it has great advantages over a glossy finish.
As for the build quality, I did not find any special complaints during my testing. The T2 earbuds were perfectly configured and had no extraneous squeaks and noises. I also liked the IPX5 water resistance. Therefore, playing sports with these earbuds will definitely not interfere with you.
The dimensions of the earbuds from the SoundPEATS brand were 22 x 17 x 28 mm. And the weight of one earbud does not exceed 5.5 grams. That is, the barrel-shaped shape of the earbuds does not cause me much delight. But I want to point out that the T2 earbuds fit pretty well in my ear canal.
As I already mentioned, exercising in the gym was a comfortable activity for me. But I really could not run in the stadium, as sometimes it seemed that the earbuds were about to fall out of the ear canal. Therefore, I assume that most users buy such earbuds for everyday use, and not for sports.
On the front side of the device, you can see the company logo under which the touch controls are located. On the side, there is a notification LED and there is also a microphone hole. In the meantime, a two-pin connection has been established on the inside of the earbud case to charge the device.
If we talk about the charging case, then it has quite compact dimensions, which are 65 x 29 x 42 mm. At the same time, the weight of the case itself, without earbuds, did not exceed 36 grams. The charging box was made of matte black plastic, just like the earbuds themselves.
I had no particular complaints about the build quality. That is, the lid opened with almost no backlash, but during the crackling one could hear the sound of the earbuds.
On the front of the box, there are three indicators that notify about the battery charge level. The back of the case received a Type-C format charging connection. In general, I am completely satisfied with the build quality, so I propose to talk about the quality of the connection and its level of latency.
Connection, latency, and touch control
The wireless connection on the new TWS model SoundPEATS T2 earbuds is not all bad. Since a Bluetooth 5.1 version was established on board. During testing, I did not find any problems with the quality of communication. That is, the connection with the smartphone was always stable and did not have interruptions or other problems.
As for the latency between a mobile device, it is practically nonexistent. I was not only comfortable listening to music or watching videos on Youtube but also playing games. For example, there was practically no lag in the game PUBG Mobile, and therefore the playability through the earbuds was very good.
SoundPEATS does not have a third-party mobile application where you can control touch controls, genres of music, and other settings. Therefore, let’s talk about the touch control itself, which also works adequately here.
- One-touch on the left or right channel of the earbuds – decreases or increases the volume, respectively.
- Double-tap on any of the earbuds will play, pause, accept or reject a call.
- Holding on the right earbud for 1.5 seconds switches the track forward, and on the left one switches from ANC, normal and transparent modes.
- A triple tap calls up the voice assistant function.
Sound and microphone quality
I already mentioned that a rather large 12mm dynamic driver was installed inside the SoundPEATS T2 earbud case. Considering that these are vacuum in-ear earbuds with large driver size, you should not expect bad sound.
In fact, during my testing, I immediately felt the power in the sound that is rarely found on more budget TWS earbuds.
For example, the low frequencies were good and rich sounding with the ideal amount of bass and bass in their performance. At the same time, the mid and high frequencies played well. In these ranges, one could hear separate open scenes of musical instruments, and the vocalist’s voice sounded very bright and rich.
In general, I can only compare the sound quality of the new T2 wireless earbuds with more premium earbuds. Such as AirPods Pro or even Sony WF1000XM3.
If we talk about the work of the active noise cancellation function, then everything is in place here as well. That is, during my use, the ANC function coped with the tasks very well. For example, in noisy places or when the fan was on, the wind noise was not heard at all. I can compare that the efficiency of the ANC function is within 75%. For comparison, AirPods Pro has 80% efficiency, Sony WF1000XM3 – 80%, Bose QC – 90% efficiency.
Also on board the SoundPEATS T2 earbuds, there is a transparency mode. The mode works very positively and the surrounding sounds are heard distinctly and clearly.
Okay, it’s still worth telling your emotions about the quality of the microphone. Everything is as usual here with most types of TWS earbuds. In a quiet place, the sound quality is very good, but in noisy places, the quality dropped a little and the interlocutors heard not only my voice but also the surrounding sounds.
Battery and run time
But I really liked the battery life of the new model of SoundPEATS T2 earbuds and let’s talk about it in more detail. A 55mAh battery was installed inside each earbud.
This capacity will be enough for 8 hours of music playback with the ANC function active. And if you do not use the active noise-canceling mode, then the battery life will grow to 10 hours. This is a very solid indicator, given its class and cost. In this case, the total battery life will be within the range of up to 30 hours using the charging box.
The earbuds are charged in about 1 hour in the charging case, and the box itself can be charged in 2 hours via the Type-C connection.
Conclusion, reviews, pros, and cons
After one week of active use of SoundPEATS T2, I was completely satisfied with the operation of the earbuds, their sound quality, functions, and other features.
Therefore, during my testing, much more positive aspects were found than negative ones. On the plus side, I can attribute it to a high-quality assembly and the presence of wear-resistant materials. The device received a comfortable fit for everyday use. I also liked the touch control and its wide functionality.
As I said, the sound quality, ANC functions, and transparency mode are very good, given its low cost. Another advantage is the battery life.
Now let’s talk about the cons. The main disadvantage I can attribute is the rather large dimensions of the earbuds. Therefore, they may not suit every user, and especially if you have small ears. I can also highlight the poor performance of the microphone in noisy places, which does not do its job very well.
Price and where to buy cheaper?
Currently, the price tag for the new TWS model of SoundPEATS T2 earbuds is very attractive at only $51.56 with a 55% discount.
My experience has shown that the earbuds are really worth their attention. Therefore, if you are looking for high-quality and decent everyday earbuds at an adequate price, then the new model from SoundPEATS will be a good choice.
