SoundPEATS recently introduced a new model of wireless earbuds called the SoundPEATS H1.
But these are not simple TWS earbuds, as there is a lot to talk about here. But before we talk about the features, let’s take a look at the price tag.
The earbuds are currently only available on the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform with a $69 price tag. As you can see, the price tag is not the smallest and the earbuds can be safely attributed to the middle class of devices.
If you look at the technical component, then everything is not as simple as at first glance. For example, the H1 model received a Bluetooth wireless connection with the new version 5.2, using the Qualcomm QCC3040 chipset with support for the aptX codec.
In addition, TWS earbuds from SoundPEATS received two drivers. Where one is 8.2 mm dynamic and the other is the balanced armature. That is, these are hybrid earbuds, which in their essence should play at a fairly high level. But I will definitely check this and will tell you in a detailed review below.
And now I propose to start my story with the configuration and appearance. And yes, if you haven’t read my reviews about other wireless earbuds from the SoundPEATS brand, then I’ll leave a link here.

Unboxing and packaging
The earbuds are delivered in a familiar small box, which is made in black and white style. The front side of the box received a drawing of the earbuds, the company designation, and the model name.
Also at the bottom, there are logos with the main features. These are the hybrid dual driver, Qualcomm QCC3040 chipset, and gaming mode.
Inside the box, I found the earbuds themselves and the charging box, which were lying separately from each other.
Further down the bottom of the box were additional silicone ear tips and one pair of foam ear tips. The package also includes a Type-C charging cable and instructions.
Thus, I really liked the equipment for the new earbud model. It contains everything you need to fully listen to music. And now a little about the appearance and wearing comfort.
Design, build quality and materials
It is rather difficult to call SoundPEATS H1 earbuds compact since hybrid drivers with a rather big size of 8.2 mm are built inside the case. But on my own, I can note that the earbuds turned out to be comfortable for my ears.
Despite their size, they fit snugly and securely in the ear canal. In addition, for several days I carried the earbuds both in normal use and during sports. Both modes of use were positively impressed. Even after several hours of use, my ears did not hurt.
I can note that the package includes a pair of foam ear tips. To my surprise, these are the nicest ear cushions I’ve ever tested. They fit perfectly in the ear canal and the sound insulation is simply excellent.
As for the materials used, the SoundPEATS H1 earbuds are made of matte plastic. There is gray plastic on the outside and black plastic on the inside.
In addition, a part of the inner side has received transparent plastic. Through it, you can see the drivers themselves and other components. At the same time, I note that the build quality of materials is at a good level. Here I did not find any extraneous sounds, squeaks, or other annoying moments.
The earbuds use touch control, but I’ll talk about its functionality a little later. The touch panel is located in the usual place on the front of the case. In addition, there is an LED indicator and a microphone hole.
The inner part has contacts for charging and the correct shape of the sound guide. But I did not find protection against water either on the Kickstarter website or on the box or instructions. But my guess is that there is minimal splash protection.
A few words about the charging box. Although it is made like most charging boxes, like other models from SoundPEATS, it has its own characteristics.
The first feature is the presence of wireless charging, as well as the fast charging function via the Type-C port. I will share with you about the charging time a little later.
The external charging box is made of matte and sturdy plastic. Where the opening lid has received a gray design, and the rest of the body is made in black. I have no complaints about the build quality, each gap is the correct size.
Inside the box, you can see four indicators that notify you of the battery level inside the case. Also near the Type-C port, there is another indicator that indicates the charge of the box.
For me, the new model of SoundPEATS H1 earbuds received good materials in manufacturing and the build quality did not suffer. An even bigger plus for me is the wearing comfort and in the case of the H1, I have no questions for it.
Connection, latency, and control
This year I first met the SoundPEATS H1 wireless earbuds with Bluetooth version 5.2. I thought I would meet this mix in a more premium segment, but I was wrong.
In my experience, the sound quality was excellent. I did not find any dips in the sound, and this is not only due to Bluetooth 5.2, but also other features. I can refer to them – this is the presence of the Qualcomm QCC3040 chipset and the aptX audio codec.
Another bonus for the new model of earbuds from the SoundPEATS brand is the presence of a game mode. That is, now the latency in games or watching videos on YouTube has become generally zero. But I do not recommend using the game mode on a permanent basis, as the sound quality will deteriorate greatly.
If we talk about touch control, then the earbuds receive all only possible functions. And at the same time, I did not observe accidental clicks, which is very good.
- One-touch increases or decreases the volume.
- Double pressing leads to play, pause, accept, or put a call.
- Holding 1.5 seconds – switching tracks forward or backward.
- Triple tap calls up the voice assistant function.
Sound and microphone quality
There’s a reason why the SoundPEATS H1 wireless earbuds use hybrid technology. It allows you to get a very rich and correct sound, as in the higher-end models with a price tag of $150 or even $ 200.
A dual-driver with an 8.2mm dynamic and balanced armature driver makes the sound perfect in all its frequencies.
For example, if we talk about low frequencies, the sound quality is very massive and properly tuned. At the same time, there is good and massive bass here.
The mid and high frequencies are well defined. They have clear sound and perfect dynamics. The vocalist’s voice is heard in a straightforward and clear manner, and musical instruments are played separately and clearly.
Compared with the older model SoundPEATS Truengine 3 SE, the new H1 model has taken only the best qualities and not only. Therefore, the sound in the new earbuds plays even better than with predecessors with a similar hybrid technology scheme.
Each earbud has two built-in microphones onboard and uses CVC 8.0 noise-canceling technology. Despite the fact that these earbuds are made in the form of plugs, the quality of the microphone is not affected. The interlocutor will hear you clearly even in loud and noisy places.
Battery and run time
Another feature of SoundPEATS H1 is its battery life on a single charge. Each case has a 60 mAh battery capacity and, according to the manufacturer, it can give about 10 hours of operation on a single charge.
This is actually an excellent indicator and as my practice showed at 70% volume level, the earbuds lasted about 9.5 hours. In addition, the latest generation of Bluetooth 5.2 has influenced high battery life. Since the power consumption has become less than that of the Bluetooth 5.0 versions.
The charging box also received an additional 500 mAh battery capacity. I managed to recharge the earbuds six times and the total runtime is about 40 hours.
In addition, fast charging time has not been spared. A full charge took up to 1.5 hours. And if you use the wireless charging method, then the charging time will be twice as long.
Conclusion, reviews, advantages, and disadvantages
The SoundPEATS H1 is undoubtedly one of the most attractive and advanced wireless earbuds I have tested in a while.
The hybrid sound technology provided very rich and vibrant emotions when I listened to my favorite artists. In addition, these earbuds are versatile, as they are suitable for any genre of music.
I found only one advantage in the new model, as they were comfortable, had a good wireless connection, game mode, touch controls, and long runtime.
But I suppose that this model may not be suitable for everyone, since its dimensions are quite massive and one earbud weighs about 6.5 grams.
Price and where to buy cheaper?
Now you can order SoundPEATS H1 earbuds only on the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform and they will cost you $69.
The price is not the lowest, but trust me, the sound quality is not the same as on budget TWS earbuds in 2020.
