After the release of a new smartphone model from Redmi, I immediately decided to order the device and now I have it in my hands. As you can read from the title of the article, today we will focus on a model called Redmi Note 11 Pro.

The manufacturer also introduced a more simplified version of the smartphone without the Pro ending. But when I looked at its technical specs, it didn’t really catch me. There is also a more advanced version called Redmi Note 11 Pro+. Perhaps in the future, I will also buy it and tell you about the main advantages and disadvantages.

This article will focus on the mid-budget class of the Redmi Note 11 Pro smartphone. Therefore, if you are planning to buy yourself a new generation of devices in the Note line from Redmi, then I advise you to read this review in full and in detail.

Redmi Note 11 Pro at a tempting price tag of just $349. That is, the price is not the sweetest, but let’s look at the main technical features of the device.

First of all, the smartphone is set to a standard screen size of 6.67 inches using an AMOLED matrix and 120 Hz refresh selection. In addition, it has a powerful MediaTek Dimensity 920 processor with 5G network support.

In terms of the amount of memory, not everything is so bad either, since the base configuration received 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory. Versions with 8 and 128 GB or 8 and 256 GB of memory are also available. Other features include a 108 megapixel main camera module, a 5160 mAh battery with 67 W fast charging.

Thus, I can’t wait to start my detailed and in-depth inspection of the new generation of the smartphone from Redmi. Therefore, if you want to know not only the main features, but also the disadvantages and nuances, then let’s start the test right now.

Unboxing and packaging

The new generation of the Redmi Note 11 Pro smartphone comes in the most standard white packaging. In this case, on the front, there is only the designation of the name of the model and the company with the main features. It supports 5G network and 67W fast charging.

The quality of the cardboard was good and to me for a test, the device came intact and without any external damage. I can also highlight that all the inscriptions were made with gold letters.

Inside the package, I found the following components. This is a protective transparent silicone case, instructions with a warranty card and a needle for the SIM tray in a separate envelope. Slightly below is the smartphone itself, which was packed in a protective shipping film. And of course, the package included a charging cable and a 67W power adapter.

Design, build quality and materials

First of all, I want to highlight the diverse selection of color solutions in the new smartphone model Redmi Note 11 Pro. The manufacturer offers a choice of colors such as black, blue, green and purple. That is, the choice is very good, and everyone can choose the color that you like best.

As for the materials used, the device was made of frosted protective glass on the back. I liked this manufacturing solution, as there are no fingerprints on the back of the device. Also, the front part of the smartphone received a protective glass Gorilla Glass 5. But the side frame on all models in the Note 11 line was made of plastic.

At the same time, I had no complaints about the build quality, since all the elements were perfectly matched to each other. In addition, during my test, I did not reveal any extraneous squeak and noise. Even the power button and volume rocker had good responsiveness and pressure. But there is no water protection on board the Note 11 Pro smartphone, since this is not even a flagship device.

In terms of design, I liked the new solution using straight frames around the body of the smartphone. The same concept is used on the latest iPhones. But I note that the corners of the frames were slightly rounded, so in terms of ergonomics I had no problems at all.

The dimensions of the smartphone were as follows: 163.65 x 76.19 x 8.34 mm, and the weight was about 207 grams. Thus, the smartphone from Redmi lay well in my hand, but you need to use all the functionality with both hands. Don’t forget that the screen size was 6.67 inches.

In addition, the main camera modules of three sensors with LED flash are located on the back of the body. The module itself protruded slightly from the device body. But with the use of a protective case, the protrusion of the camera was negligible. But on the front of the device, there is a round cutout for a selfie camera. It should be said that the bezels around the screen were minimal, except for the bottom.

Now I propose to talk about external connections and control buttons. On the right side of the Redmi Note 11 Pro smartphone, there is a power button with a built-in fingerprint scanner. There was a volume rocker just above this button. As for the operation of the fingerprint scanner, I did not reveal any particular complaints. Since the smartphone recognized my finger accurately and quickly. On the opposite side, that is, on the left side, there was nothing.

If you look at the bottom of the device, you will find the following connections. This is a Type-C port for charging, a hole for a microphone, a main speaker and a hybrid slot for dual nano SIM cards or one nano SIM card and a microSD memory card. But on the upper end of the Note 11 Pro smartphone, there is another additional speaker for stereo sound, a microphone, an infrared sensor and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

The stereo sound quality was very solid, but the top speaker played a little quieter than the main bottom speaker. Although I liked the presence of surround sound at low frequencies with the presence of bass. In addition, the device received a headphone jack and for some users this will be a great feature.

Screen and image quality

As I mentioned, the Redmi Note 11 Pro uses a 6.67-inch screen on board. At the same time, its resolution was Full HD + or 1080 x 2400 pixels. But the pixel density per inch was in the range of 395 PPI and this is not such a bad indicator.

As for the color reproduction, there should be no problems at all with the use of a high-quality AMOLED matrix. For example, the colors were very bright, saturated, and had a vibrant hue. Besides, the black was real and deep.

Among other features, I can highlight the presence of a 120 Hz refresh rate with a 360 Hz sensor frequency. In the screen settings, you can change the refresh rate to 60 Hz if your smartphone is already on the verge of completely shutting down, that is, with a minimum amount of battery power. In practice, the 120Hz refresh rate was very smooth and fast.

If we talk about the maximum value of the screen brightness, then the manufacturer assures about 700 nits. During my measurement, the brightness was just over 700 lux. That is, the maximum brightness value corresponds to the manufacturer’s performance. Thus, I could use the smartphone not only indoors, but also outdoors without too many problems. At the same time, the screen width was about 30%, but this is only when the screen brightness is below 40%.

There are many useful features in the display settings, such as the inclusion of reading mode, night mode, dark theme, and even the Always-On Display function. Only the last function did not work the way I would like it to. For example, an active screen with a clock and notifications was displayed in sleep mode for several minutes, and then disappeared. I assume that this problem will be sorted out in the future.

Performance, benchmarks, games and OS

On board the smartphone Redmi Note 11 Pro uses a fairly powerful processor MediaTek Dimensity 920. This is a new chipset, which was introduced this year. It was built on a 6 nanometer process technology and has a standard 8 cores in its execution. For example, two cores were powerful Cortex A78 clocked at 2.5 GHz and the other six were energy-efficient Cortex A55 clocked at 2.0 GHz.

After several synthetic tests, I can say with confidence that I really liked the work of the Dimensity 920 processor. If you look at the most popular AnTuTu test, the smartphone scored about 411 thousand points. This is an average figure, but the device belongs to the mid-budget category. Also below I will leave the test results for various benchmarks.

The Mali-G68 MC4 chipset is responsible for the graphics accelerator. I was able to play some pretty demanding and heavy games like Genshin Impact and others. After my testing, the device coped with the assigned tasks perfectly. At the same time, I did not reveal any special freezes or slowdowns during the gameplay. In addition, even after one hour of gaming, the device did not get very hot and was within the operating temperature range.

In addition, I want to note that the device received 6 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128 GB of built-in UFS 3.1 memory. That is, the top-end filling is used on board the smartphone, as for a mid-budget device. You can see the speed of reading and writing from the results of the picture below. In addition, you can easily use an additional memory card slot, but instead of one of the dual nano SIM card slots.

I can also highlight that the Redmi Note 11 Pro smartphone was equipped with good wireless modules. Here I found the latest generation Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 version, a high-speed GPS module and even an NFC module. The last module will be useful for most users, as people are already accustomed to using contactless payment functions.

The last thing I wanted to talk about in this section is the operating system. My smartphone received a global version, so I had no special complaints with the firmware. For example, on board the MIUI 12.5 user interface, Google services and applications were used. During my testing, the device ran very smoothly and quickly. Also, I did not find any significant slowdowns or other troubles. It is worth saying that the system is controlled by Android version 11.

Camera and sample photos

If we talk about camera performance, then the new smartphone model Redmi Note 11 Pro uses the main sensor with a resolution of 108 megapixels. This module is called Samsung S5KHM2 and has many interesting features. In practice, the quality of the photos was completely satisfactory to me, since the device could take pictures both during the day and at night. You can see examples shot on the Note 11 Pro in the album below.

The second camera module of the device received 8-megapixel resolution for ultra-wide shots with a viewing angle of 120 degrees. There is also a third module with a 2-megapixel resolution for macro photography. If, in good light, both camera modules coped with the tasks. But in low light, the quality of photos dropped significantly.

On the front of the device is a 16-megapixel Omnivision OV16A10 camera. It showed itself from a good side, but it is best to use it during bright and sunny weather, since this sensor does not really like the dark time of the day.

There are many interesting shooting modes in the camera app. For example, this is a photo, video, portrait, shirik, macro, 108 megapixel, beauty and many others. At the same time, the maximum video resolution of the main camera module was 4K and 30 frames per second. But electronic stabilization will only be available with a resolution of 1080p and also 30 frames per second. The selfie module also shoots video at 1080p and also at 30 frames per second.

Battery and run time

A non-removable battery with a capacity of 5160 mAh was built inside the body of the Redmi Note 11 Pro smartphone. This is a good indicator for a mid-budget smartphone class.

During my test, the device could easily last two full days with fairly heavy use. For example, the battery life of the screen turned on was about 11-12 hours.

In addition to good battery life, the smartphone is famous for the presence of fast charging with a power of 67 watts. At the same time, a full charge took me about 55 minutes.

Conclusion, reviews, pros and cons

After several days of active testing of the Redmi Note 11 Pro device, I was left under a very good impression. The device has indeed received many useful and interesting features at a relatively inexpensive cost.

On the positive side, I can highlight the good materials used. That is, the smartphone was made of frosted glass on the back, but from a plastic frame. As for the build quality, I had no particular complaints at all.

In addition, the smartphone received a high-quality screen with a size of 6.67 inches with Full HD resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate and a good brightness level. In addition, I liked the performance of the smartphone. Not only its results in various benchmark tests, but also in the results of everyday use and even games.

Considering its low cost, the device received a good camera with a 108 megapixel sensor. But the rest of the sensors remained typical, as well as on more budget models of smartphones. On the other hand, the battery life can surprise you with its results, especially the fast charging times.

In general, the smartphone from the Redmi company turned out to be very suitable for its price. Therefore, my verdict remains positive and I can easily recommend this device for purchase.
