The Chinese company OUKITEL produces budget smartphones, but with an interesting design. Today I wanted to tell my opinion about the new model called OUKITEL C17 Pro.
The device received a rather large screen with dimensions of 6.35 inches, a hole punch display for the front camera like the flagship models, three sensors on the rear panel and a 4/64GB version of the memory.
An interesting offer of technical specifications and appearance of the OUKITEL C17 Pro, and especially I liked the price of $99.
Therefore, I am interested, I think you too, let’s begin our review by unpacking.

OUKITEL C17 Pro: Unboxing
I got a small standard orange box, where only the name of the company is written on the front. On the back of the box are the main technical specifications.
Inside the box, I found the smartphone itself in a protective silicone case with stickers on both the front and back.
In addition, there was also a 10W power adapter and a charging cable with a Type-C port, an adapter from 3.5 mm to Type-C and a manual in English.
The package is good, there is even a protective case, and given my budget price of $ 100 – I was pleased with the filling of the kit.
OUKITEL C17 Pro: Design
Of course, the smartphone is not very compact, since the dimensions of the device are 158.0 x 75.3 x 8.8 mm and weight 160 grams, but it lies well in my hand. The corners have a slight rounding, so holding and operating the OUKITEL C17 Pro will not be a problem, but naturally only with two hands.
The back panel of the device looks very personal. The manufacturer offers three color options – it is blue, red and black.
If you have already touched the back panel and it is made of plastic, but without picking up a smartphone, you might think that it is glass.
They also installed the main camera with three sensors and an LED flash. In addition, there is a fingerprint scanner. Running a little ahead, the OUKITEL C17 Pro smartphone also has a face recognition function through the FaceID scanner of the front camera. In terms of performance, both protections work exactly, but the speed is not quite fast, as on more expensive devices.
The front end received a large 6.35-inch with hole-punch display for the front camera. We have already tested many smartphones with this design, and for me, this solution is better than the waterdrop notches that are installed on every second smartphone.
Since almost the entire front panel is occupied by a screen, sensors such as proximity and lights were installed on the upper edge of the smartphone. Although, I think this is not the most convenient solution.
The power and volume button is located on the right side of the OUKITEL C17 Pro.
A slot for nano-SIM cards and a memory card on the left side of the device. This is a hybrid slot, so you can use either two nano-SIM cards or one nano-SIM and a memory card.
The lower part of the smartphone received the main speaker, Type-C port and microphone. As you can see, there is no 3.5 mm audio jack, but there is an adapter for headphones in the kit.
The appearance of the OUKITEL C17 Pro looks even better than some mid-range smartphones. I have no complaints about the build quality, the control keys work exactly and I did not notice any annoying squeaks during the testing of the device.
OUKITEL C17 Pro: Screen
As I mentioned, on the front of the OUKITEL C17 Pro was installed a 6.35 inch IPS screen with a resolution of HD + or 1560 x 720 pixels.
Of course, it is difficult to expect FUll HD resolution on a budget smartphone, but as I have said many times, even with HD resolution is good to use for everyday tasks. At the same time, energy consumption will be much less than with the Full HD resolution.
The screen also received a 19.5: 9 aspect ratio and a pixel density of 270 PPI. Pixels are not visible to the naked eye and for everyday use, the screen looks good.
Of course, I can’t say that it is perfect, but given its price, it is not bad for the money.
Among the shortcomings can be noted, a very high level of minimum brightness, so fans who read or use the screen at night can be a small problem.
The rest, for example, the screen received a fairly high level of brightness, which will allow you to read without problems even indirect light, the color rendering is natural and has realistic colors.
OUKITEL C17 Pro: Performance and Software
Inside the device’s case, a MediaTek Helio P23 MT6763 processor is installed, which received eight cores with a maximum operating frequency of 2.5 GHz. The chipset got a joint work with the Arm Mali-G71 MP2 GPU.
Of course, the processor is a budget one, you should not expect strong performance, but it copes well with everyday tasks. As I said, the device supports the Face Unlock function, which has an accurate response, but not very fast speed.
Also, OUKITEL C17 Pro received 4 GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory, you can also expand through a memory card if the internal storage is not enough.
Below you can see the results of benchmarks and, as I expected, the results are average, but the device itself is also budget.
I didn’t notice any problems with games either, if you are a fan of playing even heavy games, such as PUBG Mobile and Asphalt 9, then OUKITEL C17 Pro can handle them well, but naturally, at low graphics settings.
It is also worth noting that the OUKITEL C17 Pro received the latest version of the Android 9.0 operating system. The user interface is almost stock and I did not find any extraneous applications.
Of course, the device already has pre-installed applications from Google, such as Youtube, Play Store, Maps and much more. Synchronization of the account is quick and there will be no unnecessary questions, as for example with the Chinese versions of Xiaomi phones.
In general, the user interface works quickly and stably, I did not find any delays or glitches. With daily simple tasks, it copes well.
OUKITEL C17 Pro: Sound
On the bottom of the OUKITEL C17 Pro, there is only one speaker that has received average sound quality. But I want to note that the sound is quite loud and you can definitely hear a phone call or message in noisy places.
Also, as I said, the device does not support a 3.5 mm audio jack, so you have to use wireless headphones or the adapter that comes with the kit.
If you are an audiophile, of course, you should not expect high-quality sound, but as for a budget device, the C17 Pro model has a decent speaker.
OUKITEL C17 Pro: Camera
Three sensors are installed on the rear panel – the main one with 13-megapixels from Sony for main photos, the second and third sensors with 5- and 2-megapixels. Front camera at 5 megapixels.
There are various modes in the camera application menu, but I did not find a mode for ultra-high shots, but there is a bokeh mode.
After testing, I found that the two sensors on the rear panel on the 5- and 2-megapixels are fake. Bokeh shots are not realistic and you can see a blur circle, and you won’t be able to make ultra-wide shots at all.
This is a typical solution for Chinese manufacturers with a budget price tag. But, if you look at the quality of the photos on the main 13MP camera, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality in well-lit places or taken in the daytime.
It is also worth noting that the device can record video with a maximum resolution of Full HD.
OUKITEL C17 Pro: Battery
The OUKITEL C17 Pro received a non-removable battery with a capacity of 3900 mAh, which supports charging with a 10W adapter. As you understand, there is no fast charge, but the manufacturer installed a good capacitive battery.
As practice has shown, the smartphone worked for about 8 hours at maximum load, when I tested benchmarks, games, the camera, and other features. That is, two days of battery life will be guaranteed with an average use of the device.
The charging time through a standard adapter was about 3.5 hours, certainly not the best indicator.
OUKITEL C17 Pro: Conclusions and Reviews
My impression of the budget OUKITEL C17 Pro remained positive, despite such shortcomings as the lack of a 3.5 mm audio jack, two fake sensors on the main camera and slow charging.
Other qualities pleased me, for example, the modern appearance with a hole-punch display for the front camera. Screen quality is not the highest, but for everyday use just right.
Performance and speed can not be compared with the flagships, but given its budget price, the device will do its job properly.
OUKITEL C17 Pro: Price and Where to buy cheaper?
Now you can buy a smartphone OUKITEL C17 Pro at a low price for only $99.99 with a 50% discount. But also do not forget about the upcoming date 11.11, on this day you will be surprised at the prices, so do not miss your chance.
I can say that the OUKITEL C17 Pro smartphone looks like a flagship device and if you are looking for a budget smartphone with a prestigious design, then maybe it will be a good choice for you.
