Inside, I found – the smartphone itself is in a protective film so that it does not get scratched during transportation. Also in a separate box was a needle for a SIM card slot, a 27W power adapter, a Type-C charging cable and a Type-C adapter to a 3.5 mm audio jack.

In addition, I found a protective silicone case and a protective film on the back panel, so as not to accidentally scratch the second screen.

Nubia Z20: Design and Screens

The first thing that catches your eye is the presence of dual screens, both on the front side and on the back surface of the device.

Yes, you can say that this is not the first solution and such a function was available on devices from YotaPhone. But in the Z20 model, the second screen is also from AMOLED, not a black and white E-Ink screen.

Why did the manufacturer decide to go on the equipment of this additional screen? The answer is simple to meet the needs of quality selfie lovers. With this model, you will be able to take front-shots on the main camera without losing image quality and through the second screen, you will be able to see yourself. A convenient solution and even very simple.

The rest of the controls and functionality is no different from other devices in the mobile market.

On the front side is the main screen with a size of 6.42 inches and a speaker. The frame of the screen is very small and almost 84.7% occupies the screen.

The screen is built on AMOLED technology, has Full HD resolution or 1080 x 2340 pixels. The aspect ratio is 19.5: 9 and the pixel density is 401 PPI.

The maximum brightness is approximately 550 nits, which makes it easy to use the screen in sunny weather. Also present is HDR10 and the Always-on display feature on both screens.

On the rear panel, there is the main camera with three sensors and two LED flash units at the edges. It is also worth noting that just above the camera there is another additional conversational speaker.

Just below the camera is a second screen with a size of 5.1 inches and a resolution of HD or 720 x 1520 pixels. The maximum brightness is about 330 nits, so in sunny weather, the visibility will be slightly lower than on the main screen.

On the right side is a fingerprint sensor and a power button and just above the rocker to adjust the volume.

The top of the smartphone has only one noise-canceling microphone.

On the left side, there is a slot for two nano-SIM cards, a slot for a memory card is not provided.

Also, there is another fingerprint sensor if you will be using the second screen.

By the build quality and materials, I have no questions. The phone lies well in the hand, the glass case makes it very premium and expensive. In addition, it is worth noting that the glass is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 from minor scratches and other troubles.

Nubia Z20: Performance and Software

The Nubia Z20 is the flagship device, of course, for any flagship, only the most powerful processor is needed. On the Z20 model, a chipset called Snapdragon 855+ was installed, which can operate at a maximum frequency of 2.96 GHz.

In addition, the device comes with 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 512 GB of internal memory. It is strange that there is no option for 256 GB of memory.

Below I will leave pictures on benchmark performance. What else can be said about the most powerful processor on the mobile market? It is ideal, and so far you will not find the best option for performance.

What about gaming features? Everything is very good here and at maximum loads, the Nubia Z20 device shows itself worthy. During testing, I did not find any delays or overheating.

In addition, an additional second screen can be configured for gaming purposes, for example, move control keys to the second screen, like on a joystick. A very convenient and practical solution, as it seems to me.

The flagship Nubia Z20 has an Android 9.0 operating system with the Nubia UI 7 user interface.

If this is your first encounter with this shell, then I will please you, it works very quickly and stably. During testing, updates came to me over the air and the manufacturer promises to soon update the system to version 10 of Android.

In addition, you can configure a very large number of additional functions, thanks to the second screen. For example, through the second screen, you can make smooth animation, for example, a cooling system or a processor and it looks very cool. Also, you can customize any notifications or additional information to your taste so that it is displayed on the second screen.

The number of useful functions and features of the user interface is very large, I talked about the main ones, but most importantly, they work stably and very quickly.

Nubia Z20: Camera

As with any flagship, you need a very good camera. In the Nubia Z20 model, it is. There are three sensors installed, the main one on 48-megapixel SONY IMX586 with aperture f/1.7.

The second 8-megapixel sensor with f/2.4 aperture for telephoto shots and three times the optical zoom. And the latest 16-megapixel sensor with an f/2.2 aperture for 122.2-degree ultra-wide shots.

As you already understood, there is no front camera, since it is not needed here. Through the second screen, you can take selfie pictures and at the same time to the main camera without any loss.

The quality of the photographs is, indeed, at a good level, both in the daytime and at night. The application menu has a night mode, which provides good detail in poor lighting. Below I will create a gallery with some sample photos.

Also, the Nubia Z20 device has the ability to shoot video at 8K and 15 frames per second or 4K and 60 frames per second.

Nubia Z20: Battery

Inside the Nubia Z20, a 4000 mAh battery was installed, which is very good.

The low processor consumption and the presence of an AMOLED screen will allow the battery to be used quite economically.

During the test, I got a result of about 9 hours of the screen turned on at maximum loads when I tested benchmarks or played heavy games. Therefore, you can safely use the device for about 2 days with average use.

The charging time from 0 to 100% was about 1 hour, due to the presence of fast charging and a 27W adapter.

Nubia Z20: Conclusions and Reviews

Definitely, the flagship smartphone Nubia Z20 received a good mark when testing the device.

Two screens – solved the problem of the location of the front camera selfie and allowed to install a full screen on the front panel with minimal frames, without any notches at all.

The Snapdragon 855+ processor has high performance, so you can play your favorite games at ultra-high graphics settings and without any delays or overheating.

Nubia Z20 Review: Flagship with Dual-Screen and Snapdragon 855+

One single camera has a chance to take not only high-quality landscape photographs but also portrait shots.

The autonomy of the work proved to be at a decent level, and fast charging will allow you to charge the device in the shortest possible time.

Nubia Z20: Price and Where to buy cheaper?

Currently, you can already buy the Nubia Z20 flagship at a low price for just $579.99 with a small discount.

Without any words, I definitely liked the smartphone, both in terms of build quality and materials, as well as in its functionality and features.
