Midea has produced a true flagship smart robot vacuum cleaner called the Midea M7 Pro.
This is the first time I tested the model of a robot vacuum cleaner from the Midea brand since I had not previously been able to deal with its past models. But I have quite a lot of experience behind me and I have something to compare with.
Thus, in this article, I will try to find out the main advantages and disadvantages that I encountered during full and in-depth testing. But first of all, let’s talk about cost.
Currently, at the time of this writing, the price tag for a freshly baked Midea M7 Pro smart robot vacuum cleaner is $490. Perhaps this is not the sweetest price, since competitors have a slightly lower cost. Therefore, let’s find out for what reasons, the cost of the device is so great.
First, I want to note that the robot vacuum cleaner received a very powerful suction force of 4000 Pa. Usually, most ordinary vacuum cleaners have from 2000 to 2800 Pa, and here it is already 4000 Pa. This is a really solid indicator, but I will talk in more detail about the suction power and the quality of cleaning in a detailed review below.
Also, the device can stand out with the presence of high-frequency vibration of 500 beats per minute. This will allow you to clean the surface much more efficiently and better.
Naturally, the smart robot vacuum cleaner from the Midea brand received a laser navigation system, about 30 different sensors, and a large battery capacity of 5200 mAh.
Therefore, from the technical features, the flagship model of the robot vacuum cleaner really impressed me. Thus, I propose to start my testing with the appearance of the packaging and the main components.

Unboxing and packaging
The robot vacuum cleaner is delivered in a box of standard dimensions, like most similar smart robotic vacuum cleaners. On the front, you can see a drawing of a robot vacuum cleaner and with the name of the company.
Inside the package itself, you can find various documentation, including a warranty card and instructions for use. At the top of the package, I was able to find an additional HEPA filter, but the main HEPA filter was already installed in the robot vacuum cleaner. There are also two side brushes, microfiber with a wet cleaning platform.
Next, I found the robot vacuum cleaner itself, which was packed in an additional protective transport film. In addition, the package includes a cable for connecting the docking station and the docking station itself.
There is also an additional tank in a separate box, which is necessary for wet cleaning. This nozzle has received a separate mechanism, which leads to the necessary vibration and makes wet cleaning more efficient.
Design, build quality, and materials used
From that point of view, I had no particular complaints about the smart robot vacuum cleaner Midea M7 Pro. It not only received a stylish and modern design but also has great advantages in the materials used.
For example, the quality of plastic is at a fairly high level. If you look at the upper part of the device, the plastic is very pleasant to the touch and even resembles soft-touch plastic. Of course, there is also glossy plastic to make the device stand out.
But as you may know, I am not a supporter of glossy plastic at all. Therefore, I am glad that at least the upper part of the case was made of matte plastic.
Also on the same surface, there are two mechanical buttons – this is to turn on and return to the docking station for recharging. And in the central part, there is a lidar sensor with a laser navigation system.
If you look at the side faces, then on the front side, there is a movable bumper. This will prevent strong impacts from hard surfaces and corners. In addition, a large number of sensors are hidden behind this bumper. As I said, there were about 30 different sensors used in the M7 Pro model. They not only prevent impacts but also detect stubborn dirt and clean 2 or even 3 times.
Under the hood of the Midea M7 Pro robot vacuum cleaner, there is a container with a brush for cleaning debris and dirt. There are also two buttons here – a Wi-Fi button and a factory reset button. In this case, the capacity of the container was 450 ml. As I said before, there is a triple cleaning system in the dumpster. This is a nylon mesh, a sponge, and the HEPA filter itself.
On the opposite side of the movable bumper, you can remove the tank and install a micro-fiber platform for wet cleaning. But if you need really high-quality and deep cleaning, then you should install a polisher here. That is, the polisher platform received vibration, which helps to clean the dirty surface from dust, heavy traces, and other contaminants.
Meanwhile, on the lower part of the hull, there are two drive wheels with independent suspension. Therefore, the robot vacuum cleaner can easily overcome obstacles up to 2 cm high. There are also two side brushes, which I spoke about from the unpacking section. There is also an additional wheel for changing direction and a main rotary center roller with a V-shape. Here you can also observe sensors falling from a height. That is, the robot vacuum cleaner will not accidentally fall off the steps.
Okay, now let’s talk about the most important thing, how well the smart robot vacuum cleaner Midea M7 Pro cleans and its main features.
Performance, mobile app, and cleaning
I already said at the beginning of the review that the new model of the smart robot vacuum cleaner from Midea received a very powerful suction force of 4000 Pa. At the same time, the power of the electric motor was only 55 watts. This is not much when comparing the motor power to conventional wired vacuum cleaners. But a little later I will tell you how good or bad the device copes with its tasks.
Now about the battery life, a battery with a capacity of 5200 mAh was installed inside the body of the robot vacuum cleaner. During automatic dry cleaning or wet cleaning, without using a floor polisher, the battery life on a single charge will be about 2.5 hours. This is comparable to an area of up to 250 square meters. But if you use a floor polisher, the cleaning time will be reduced to 1 hour and 45 minutes.
If the battery is discharged to 20%, then the Midea M7 Pro smart robot vacuum cleaner will automatically come to the charging station to recharge. And after successful charging, it will continue cleaning in the place where it was discharged. In this case, a full charge will take him up to 3 hours of time.
Now about the level of noise produced, you might think that the robot vacuum cleaner has received a rather high value of the suction force, then it will make a lot of noise. But as my practice has shown, during the cleaning, it was very quiet, even when compared to its competitors.
For example, the maximum noise level was up to 65 dB. This is not a bad result. If you use the device in automatic mode, where the suction power is combined depending on the pollution, then the noise will be even lower.
Even if you are not at home, but at work or in a store, through the mobile application you can remotely control the smart robot vacuum cleaner. The application itself is called MSmartLife, which is available for both Android and iOS devices.
To connect, you need to activate the Wi-Fi hotspot on the robot vacuum cleaner. To do this, you need to hold the button for a few seconds next to the Wi-Fi indicator under the cover of the device. After that, when the indicator lights up, you need to find your model from the list in the application, in our case, it is the M7 Pro, and go through a few simple steps. The whole connection process took me no more than 10 minutes and the subsequent connection with the smartphone was automatic.
In the application itself, you can observe a map of your house or apartment. But for it to appear, you just need to make the first cleaning with a smart robot vacuum cleaner. When the first cleaning is over, you can label each room with your own name.
In addition, on the map, you are able to set up barriers and set up areas with a limited cleaning area. Also in the settings, you can set maps with multiple floors. For example, if you have a house with two or even three floors. Then you move the device to the floor that needs cleaning and he will already know where to vacuum and where not.
In general, the work of the movement intelligence system is very intelligently constructed. During my testing, the robot never got stuck and moved in the right direction. That is, there are more budgetary robotic vacuum cleaner devices that do not understand where they are and can clean in the same place 10 times, and where it is dirty it will not even get there. In the case of the Midea M7 Pro, I did not find such problems.
As for cleaning in general, I really liked the performance of the new robot vacuum cleaner model. The M7 Pro is perfect for the task at hand. For the test, I scattered 100 grams of various garbage and after 10 minutes of cleaning, the robot vacuum cleaner removed all the scattered garbage. That is, during dry cleaning, there were insignificant particles of debris residues. But when I started wet cleaning after dry cleaning, there were no traces of debris at all.
Conclusion, reviews, pros, and cons
My first acquaintance with the Midea brand turned out to be a very positive experience. This is not surprising since the M7 Pro is the flagship model. Nowadays, new models of robot vacuum cleaners are getting smarter and smarter.
Of the advantages, I can single out this large number of different sensors and the operation of lidar with a laser navigation system. That is, the M7 Pro robot vacuum cleaner performed cleaning with smart methods and algorithms. During my testing, the device never crashed or got stuck in any object.
Besides, I liked the work of the mobile application. With it, you can control the smart robot vacuum cleaner even from a distance. This is a necessary feature and will be useful for most users.
At the same time, I want to pay special attention to the battery life and the suction force with a value of 4000 Pa. Also, the noise emitted from the vacuum cleaner will definitely not bring you much discomfort, even when you are at home.
Since this is the flagship model of the device that performs both dry and wet cleaning, I did not have any particular problems with the quality of cleaning. In general, the robot vacuum cleaner from the Midea brand has some advantages. But the only drawback can be the price tag, which let’s talk about in more detail.
Price and where to buy cheaper?
If you already have a robot vacuum cleaner, but it does not cope with the tasks ideally, then the new model from the Midea brand will be a good choice.
