Magicsee N6 Plus: Unboxing

The TV box came to me for a review in a bright and not large box. On the front part, you can see the picture of the TV box itself, the designation of the Android version and the name of the model.

On the back of the box are the main technical features. For example, this is Android 9.0 OS, Amlogic S922X chipset, Mali TM-G52 MP6 graphics processor, 4/128 GB version of the memory and much more.

Inside the box, I was met by the TV box in a protective plastic bag, remote control with a USB input for the TV box. Important components were an HDMI cable, an 18W power adapter, an additional removable antenna, and a user manual.

This is standard equipment, as for the category of TV boxes. But, I was glad to see the presence of an HDMI cable in the kit.

Magicsee N6 Plus: Design

Appearance Magicsee N6 Plus received a typical square shape with rounded corners. The size of the device was 118 x 118 x 20 mm, and weigh about 246 grams.

The case is made entirely of plastic, I did not find any metal elements for the heat sink. Active cooling is not provided, and ventilation openings are located only in the lower part of the case. Will the N6 Plus TV box overheat? I will talk a little later in the performance section.

On top of the case, there is an interesting iridescent pattern in the form of squares. In the center is the company logo – Magicsee. I like this plastic structure, as it is not easily soiled and fingerprints will not remain.

The sides of the Magicsee N6 Plus are already made of glossy plastic. Of course, it looks beautiful, but in practice, plastic is easily soiled and leaves a lot of fingerprints.

The front end received an LED indicator and a screen that shows the time. The screen is blue, and the indicator is blue during active use and red when off.

It is also worth mentioning that the TV box had a protective transport film on the front and right ends. But there was no film on the back and left ends, a very strange solution.

Now let’s talk about the main external interfaces. The left side of the N6 Plus TV box received two USB 3.0 ports, a memory card slot and ANT threaded connection for the antenna.

At the rear, there is a DC port for a power adapter, USB 2.0, HDMI, LAN, OPTICAL and AV ports.

When choosing any TV box, I not only consider its processor and other aspects of performance, but also the number of external interfaces. In this case, the model Magicsee N6 Plus has all the necessary connections for comfortable use in everyday life.

The bottom panel is also made of matte plastic and has four rubber anti-slip legs. As I mentioned, here the TV box got openings for passive cooling.

The remote control has received a convenient anatomical shape, which lies well in the hand. It has all the necessary buttons, such as power on, play/pause, home, move backward, switches channels adjust the volume and even the voice dial control button.

I also wanted to add that the remote control received the cursor control function when moving in different directions, for example, up, down, right or left. The remote is powered by two AAA batteries.

Magicsee N6 Plus: Performance and Benchmark Tests

If you have been looking for a productive processor for a long time, but the results did not suit you, then I ask you to pay attention to the new Amlogic S922X. It quietly surpasses any Amlogic S912 processor and shows good performance in benchmark tests.

The processor is based on Hexa cores, where 4 cores work on the Cortex-A73, and the other 2 are Cortex-A53. In addition, the processor has low power consumption and runs on 12-nanometer technology.

Paired with the Amlogic S922X processor, the new Mali-G52 MP6 GPU runs at a maximum frequency of 850 MHz. The processor performance is about 6.8 Gb/s when compared with the Ami Malic S912 Mali-820 graphics chip, it surpasses almost three times.

Indeed, in terms of gaming features, the processor and graphics chip show perfect performance, without jerking and freezing. The heavy games run easily, such as PUBG Mobile or Asphalt 8.

Let’s go through the benchmark tests. The most popular is AnTuTu and the TV box Magicsee N6 Plus showed a solid result of about 118 thousand points.

If you look at the performance of the GeekBench 4 test, then the result is not the worst. Here I got 1183 points in a single-core test and 3301 in a multi-core test.

I also tested the 3DMark benchmark in the Sling Shot test, where the device scored an overall score of 1551.

The average operating temperature was up to 55 degrees. Also, during games or benchmark tests, the temperature did not exceed 75 degrees.

I also checked the operation of YouTube and the maximum permissible resolution was 1080p. The video plays without any problems. In addition, I launched a video with 4K and 60 frames per second through an external drive, and like the first one, the video was smooth.

Magicsee N6 Plus Review: TV box with Amlogic S922X and 4/128 GB

After conducting benchmark tests, I can definitely say with confidence that the performance of the new Amlogic S922X processor is far superior to the Amlogic s912 and Rockchip RK3399.

I can add a few words about wireless. The Magicsee N6 Plus TV box received a dual Wifi network with ac support, and Bluetooth 4.1 was also installed onboard. For high-speed data transfer, you can use 1000 Mb/s LAN.

Magicsee N6 Plus: Software

The new Magicsee N6 Plus TV box is running Android 9.0. The user interface is similar to previous generations of TV boxes, for example, Magicsee N6 Max.

The main menu received basic frequently used icons that can be added or changed if necessary. At the bottom, there are cells such as YouTube, Play Store, and settings.

Magicsee N6 Plus Review: TV box with Amlogic S922X and 4/128 GB

In the application menu, you can see installed applications such as AirScreen, Chrome, Netflix, Miracast, Gallery, MediaPlayer, and many others. Of course, each no-need application can be removed if necessary.

Magicsee N6 Plus Review: TV box with Amlogic S922X and 4/128 GB

In my case, I got 128GB of internal memory and 4GB of RAM for the test. Even 128 GB of memory is a lot for a TV box, of course, if you do not store movies or TV shows. 4GB RAM is enough for active multitasking.

The settings menu looks standard for Android TV boxes and here you can choose any language, change the date and time, sound, or reset to factory settings.

Magicsee N6 Plus: Conclusion and Reviews

After spending several days with the new Magicsee N6 Plus TV box, I was completely satisfied with its performance and speed of work.

Now, I understand why the manufacturer indicated a rather high price tag over $100. As for new technologies and high productivity, it is necessary to pay more.

At the beginning of the test, I was skeptical, as the design received a minimum number of ventilation holes for cooling. But after conducting benchmark tests and playing heavy games, the temperature did not exceed permissible limits.

Magicsee N6 Plus Review: TV box with Amlogic S922X and 4/128 GB

This is all due to the good power consumption of the Amlogic S922X processor and the high-quality optimization of all processes.

Magicsee N6 Plus: Price and Where to buy cheaper?

Now each user can order a new productive Magicsee N6 Plus TV box for $129.99.

This price is fully justified since the device received high performance and fast user interface.
