KB EAR F1 Review: Armature headphones up to $40

Today we have very interesting headphones on the review. This is another creation of a young Chinese manufacturer KB EAR and their amber single-driver reinforcement model KB EAR F1. Why did I call them amber? I think when you see them live, you will understand the reason.

The price of the KB EAR F1 headphones is only $35.99 which makes one attractive compared to competitors.

KB EAR F1: Unboxing

The KB EAR F1 is delivered in a typical company box, which is familiar to us from the Opal model. And from behind, of course, you can read the characteristics of the headphones.

In the kit, there is an instruction. From the interesting, you can learn that you can wear them and ear method. I tried it, but somehow I didn’t really like it. As a result, wore the wire down. But I want to warn many that to achieve good sound insulation headphones require a deep fit. Okay, go to the configuration.

In addition to the headphones themselves in the kit, we will find two more pairs of silicone ear cushions with red cores. One pair, as you can see, is already wearing the headphones themselves. And three pairs of black silicone ear cushions. Also interchangeable cable with ММСХ connector.

Well, I think it’s a good grade. I think that it will satisfy the needs of many buyers.

KB EAR F1: Design and Appearance

See for yourself, they are very similar to fake from processed amber. Moreover, the concept of these enclosures reminded me very much of ancient samples of amber with small insects frozen in them forever. However, in our case, the Bellsing 32257 fittings with wires instead of legs and the golden company logo are frozen in V-shaped cases.

See how perfectly all the insides of the headphones are visible, especially in the rays of the sunset. In my opinion, this is an interesting, spectacular and simple solution. This review, as you understood, I shot at sea, it was evening, sunset time and the weather was cool.

Therefore, almost all the pictures turned out so successful that I just could not stop and continued to shoot. KB EAR F1 headphones captured my attention in the test.

The body is actually made of acrylic, and it is literally a monolithic and rigid structure. These headphones were first released only in two colors: ambers, like our one and black. But more recently, they added completely transparent and gray-blue colors.

The sound drivers are neat, metallic and straight. The sides that hold the ear cushions, as you can see, they do not have. But the perforated grille covering them is in place.

At the bottom we see the MMCX connector installed. There are no markings on the channel on the cases, just so as not to get confused, they should be worn with logos outside.

Naturally, do not forget to put here a good replacement cable with MMCX connectors. Now let’s get acquainted with him now.

The plug is straight and massive enough because it is covered with an aluminum shell. Do not forget about the protection of the cable from bending. The cable itself is too thick to boast. It is moderately elastic and more rigid than, for example, a cable from other headphones.

Well, much easier. Of course, I tried using another cable with these headphones, but due to its weight, it constantly pulled the headphones down. As a result, they constantly fell from my ear. That is, it did not fit.

After the splitter is made in the same style as the plug, the cable is already divided into two thin and long wires.

At the end of which are placed transparent plastic forks with MMCX connectors. Here they already have channel markup, though it is hardly noticeable, but nothing. In short, the cable is very decent, the company has succeeded in this.

KB EAR F1: Sound

Well, let’s finally talk about the sound of these headphones, which this time did not disappoint. The headphones KB EAR F1 in our test show us already quite sound, more thoroughbred and matured. In the case of these headphones, a more serious approach of the manufacturer is already felt, not only to the appearance of the headphones, as was the case with the KB EAR Opal, but also the main thing to tuning the sound.

Low frequencies have a classic reinforcement, they are fast and clear and dry for reinforcement in the region of the lowest bass. But here everything is logical, I think that none of us expected the basses to be driven into the ground from these headphones. Of course, many will not be satisfied in this range, the lack of weight and physicality. Alas, the headphones are not velvet.

The average bass boats clarity and good control. As a result, in these headphones not only the drum set sounds textured, but also the bass guitar, or the double bass, for example. In the track, which I used to test the headphones at the very beginning of the lead part, they are set aside for drums and bass guitar. In general, this one single armature is doing very well with this instrumental flow.

The middle in these headphones noticeably protrudes, it is not at all thin, with good volumes with normal instrumental separation and smooth and quite good tones of sound. But the voices that women’s and men’s sound almost equally well in these headphones. Well, maybe quite a bit nicer and more velvety men are transmitted. But, for example, Sia, which sounds on the border of medium and high, can already strain the ear a little with sharp notes.

In this range, I want to immediately warn fans of heavy music. These headphones are not for heavy rock music. And if it is also reduced as horrible, then guaranteed to get an unpleasant sound.

High frequencies in KB EAR F1 have an accent in our analisis. Despite this, for me at least, they sound comfortable. They have good parts, they have air, there is reinforcement clarity. They, of course, do not extend up to 20 KHz, but approximately up to 8-9 KHz play everything back quite confidently and even not bad.

In this case, my rumor fully agrees with this third-party charting, which I found on the net.

About sensitive headphones, I have already said when I talked about mids. So, probably, and here it will be quite appropriate to recall that the dirtier your material will be, the more nastiness you will hear in listening. The headphones will pull it out.

KB EAR F1: Conclusions and Reviews

Well, time to sum up. In the case of KB EAR F1, I think the company has made a significant step forward compared to KB EAR Opal.

KB EAR F1 Review: Armature headphones up to $40

Yes, of course, it is not entirely correct to compare them. But the fact that the reinforcement model turned out to be much more interesting for them than the dynamic counterparts cannot be denied.

I honestly admit that I do not consider myself an ardent admirer of a single-driver and such an armature sound. Since those times when I had a more expensive model of this type in constant use, this is Klipsch Image X10. But having listened to these and having rummaged a little in my memory, I cannot unequivocally now say that they sounded much better or cooler.

KB EAR F1 Review: Armature headphones up to $40

Plus / minus is about one level. Well, probably, all the same high there were more interesting and a little bass deeper and textured. But this, I repeat, is a very rough comparison.

KB EAR F1: Price and where to buy cheaper?

If all this is folded up and remember the price of X10, for which even now they are asking about $ 70. And at the price of the KB EAR F1 headphones, which currently cost about $36, you can understand how great the Chinese have been to the fore lately.

Another KB EAR F1 is again a vivid proof that it is not always worth grasping all the characteristics at once but giving all your strength to the improvement of something one. The sense, in the end, will be much more.

I can recommend the KB EAR F1 headphones to people with any experience with one driver reinforcement models. People who love jazz, instrumental music or soft rock. Well, or those who have the desire to compare their more expensive brand models with a similar scheme with the new Chinese creation.
