The proprietary HiSilicon Kirin 810 processor is responsible for the performance and there is one memory configuration for 6/128 GB. I can also note about the 48-megapixel camera and a pretty good battery capacity of 4200 mAh with fast charging at 40 watts of power.

But is it such a best smartphone, as you can read in the advertising booklet? Let’s find out in a detailed review.

Huawei P40 lite: Unboxing

The appearance of the packaging of the Huawei P40 lite is very identical for the line of smartphones from Huawei. This is a white box where on the front you can see the name of the model, and on the back are technical features.

The equipment is pretty good, but I did not find a protective silicone case. Instead, it lay wired headphones with a 3.5 mm jack. In this case, I would rather have a protective case, instead of headphones.

Otherwise, everything is pretty good – the smartphone itself, the user manual, the Type-C charging cable, and the 40 W power adapter.

Huawei P40 lite: Design

Even if you consider that the back panel of the Huawei P40 lite is made of glossy plastic, but it looks very glamorous. If I did not pick up the smartphone, I would think that the back panel is made of glass.

Also on the rear panel, there is a square module of the main camera in the upper left corner. An LED flash was installed next to it, and just below the logo from the company is Huawei.

In addition, the smartphone is held securely in the hand and the plastic panel does not slip in the hands. If we talk about the size, then the dimensions of the Huawei P40 lite were 159.2 x 76.3 x 8.7 mm and weigh about 183 grams.

A fingerprint scanner on the rear panel is not observed since it is located on the side right side and acts as a power button. Also, there you can see the volume rocker.

The opposite side of the smartphone received a slot for dual nano-SIM cards and a memory card in Nano Memory format up to 256 GB.

The bottom end of the P40 lite received the main speaker, microphone, Type-C port, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. But at the top, there is only a hole for a noise-canceling microphone.

The front panel has an almost full screen with minimal frames and there is a hole-punch under the front cam. Naturally, if you choose the right wallpaper, you can easily mask the hole-punch and it won’t throw so much into your eyes. Without any doubt, the hole-punch looks much better for its waterdrop notch.

I would also say about various colors. The company offers three colors – it is black, green and pink. The choice is not bad and the colors shimmer beautifully under the sun.

From the minus, I can note that the back panel is quite easily soiled, but the problem is solved by buying a protective case. Otherwise, the build quality is at a good level and I have no complaints even about executable materials.

Huawei P40 lite: Screen

The screen quality is not the worst, although an IPS matrix is used. The brightness and angles of the Huawei P40 lite are decent levels, so you can easily use your smartphone in bright sunny weather.

The screen size of the P40 lite was 6.4 inches with Full HD resolution or 1080 x 2310 pixels. With this size, the pixel density was about 398 PPI.

In the settings, you can select different color modes. For example, to make the screen color warmer or colder. In addition, there is a setting for selecting resolution in Full HD or HD. A very useful option if your battery is on the verge of its capabilities.

Huawei P40 lite: Performance and Software

Given its price of about $250, the performance of the Huawei P40 lite is quite high thanks to the modern Kirin 810 processor. The chipset runs on 7-nanometer technology and has 8 cores, where there are two Cortex-A76 clocked at 2.27 GHz and six Cortex-A55 clocked at 1.88 GHz.

If you look at benchmark tests, the P40 lite smartphone showed good results. AnTuTu test scored about 325 thousand points, also below I will leave other test results.

The device will launch heavy games and you can enjoy full-fledged work due to the Mali-G52 MP6 GPU. The overheating was slight, so you would have to take small breaks every half hour.

Huawei P40 lite:Scores
AnTuTu 8:325777
GeekBench 5.1 (single-core):591
GeekBench 5.1 (multi-core):1862

Unfortunately. the manufacturer offers only one memory configuration – it is 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory. An additional slot for a memory card is present in Nano Memory format with a capacity of up to 256 GB.

The Huawei P40 lite is running the latest version of Android 10 with the EMUI 10 user interface.

I think every user knows that Huawei is not cooperating with Google representatives for special reasons. Therefore, embedded applications from Google will not be available.

In this regard, Huawei has developed its own application system called AppGallery. Here you will have a wide list of various applications and games that you can install without any problems. If anyone is interested, YouTube can be installed manually via the .apk file.

The wireless is wide, the P40 lite uses a 4G network and communication is at a decent level. There is also Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and the most important NFC sensor for contactless payment.

Huawei P40 lite: Camera

Huawei P40 lite uses a 48-megapixel camera with f/1.8 aperture and PDAF as the main module. The second sensor received an 8-megapixel resolution with f/2.4 aperture for ultra-wide shots.

But the third and fourth modules of the main camera have a 2-megapixel resolution. Only one of them is for bokeh shots, and the other is macro. The macro mode works at a distance of 4 cm.

The front camera in a hole-punch on the front panel has a 16-megapixel module with an f/2.0 aperture.

The maximum video recording is only 1080p and 30 frames per second, both in the main and front cameras. Below I will leave an album with sample photos.

Huawei P40 lite: Battery

Another interesting feature of the Huawei P40 lite is the 4200 mAh battery capacity.

The battery life of the device will allow you to use about 2 days with an average load mode. The test showed that at maximum brightness and watching videos on YouTube in one hour, the battery was discharged by 8%.

Among other things, the smartphone received an adapter with a power of 40 watts. In half an hour of charging, the smartphone will be able to charge from 0 to 70%, and a full charge will take a little more than one hour.

Huawei P40 lite: Conclusion and reviews

Huawei was not a budget brand, such as Xiaomi. If we consider the smartphone Huawei P40 lite in terms of appearance, performance, screen quality and even battery life – this device is quite productive.

Huawei P40 lite Review: Stylish Smartphone with Kirin 810 and NFC

Although I can point out some minor flaws. For example, this is an easily soiled plastic case, video recording only with a resolution of 1080p and software without Google services. Although the latter can be installed manually without any problems.

For me personally, the phone is assembled perfectly, it has a modern design, performance, as well as the presence of an NFC module.

Huawei P40 lite: Price and Where to buy cheaper?

Now you can buy the Huawei P40 lite at a low price for just $249.99 with a 30% discount.

The price is very attractive, but there are also many competitors in the smartphone market. Especially when you consider the release of a new line of smartphones from Redmi with models such as Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max.
