Haylou is a new company that is part of the QCY division. Many of you are already familiar with the Haylou GT1 wireless earbuds, but today we are talking about the second generation Haylou GT2.
Haylou GT2 wireless earbuds received a very compact ergonomic appearance with a small weight, a built-in USB cable in the charging box, Bluetooth version 5.0 and a pretty good battery life for about 4 hours.
The Haylou sub-brand belongs to a more luxurious category, but the price of their devices is quite modest. For example, now the price tag for GT2 is only $18, and if you analyze the prices for GT1, then they will cost you almost $19 now.
I was a little surprised why the second generation costs a little cheaper than the first. If you are also interested, then I suggest starting our in-depth review with unpacking.

Haylou GT2: Unboxing
The appearance of the second-generation Haylou GT2 box is no different from the GT1, except for the picture and model name on the front side.
On the side, you can see the main technical features in Chinese and English. Also on the back are written specifications similarly in Chinese and English.
Inside the box, I found the following items, such as a charging box with earbuds inside. The box itself was in protective foam, so it would definitely not be damaged during transportation.
Below I found instructions and two pairs of ear pads, the third pair is already installed on the earbuds.
There is no USB charging cable in the kit, as the manufacturer made an interesting decision and installed the cable at the bottom of the charging case.
Haylou GT2: Design
The appearance of the second generation of Haylou GT2 wireless earbuds has received a number of significant changes when compared with the first generation.
The first thing I found was that the GT2 earbuds received a mechanical multi-function button for control. Also on the front side, there is a red and white LED.
If you recall the first version was with touch controls and as it turned out for many, this control was not very convenient. Therefore, the manufacturer after reading the reviews decided to make a mechanical button.
Pressing the button is light and not tight, even when the earbuds fit tightly in my ears, I did not feel any discomfort or tension.
On the inside of the earbuds are two contacts for charging and a channel designation.
The microphone was mounted on the side of the case near the sound guide.
The sound guide itself has a direct shape and there is a ledge on the base for the quality support of the ear pads. Also under the silicone ear pads, there is a mesh that protects against dust and dirt.
The body of the Haylou GT2 earbud is made of a nice matte plastic that is not putty and is not easily soiled, such as glossy. The weight of the headphones is only 3.7 grams, which is quite small. This influenced the comfortable wearing even for a long period of time. During testing, I could listen to music for hours and do not feel any discomfort.
It is also worth noting that the Haylou GT2 received protection against water and dust according to the IPX5 standard, so you can use the device in the rain or in sports.
The charging case is made of the same material as the earbuds – it is black matte plastic.
As you noticed, there is no cover on the top, so for some users, this will be a minor minus, as the earbuds will be washed out and accidentally fall out. Although I want to note that the earbuds hold tight thanks to the magnetic connection.
I did not find any LED indicators of the charge level of the case, the manufacturer removes unnecessary elements so that the price is low and adequate.
A USB cable for charging is installed at the bottom of the case. Of course, this is an unusual solution, but I want to agree that it is very convenient and practical. You will not need to look for a charging cable all the time, as it will always be at hand.
The build quality is at a good level, the materials are also made of pleasant plastic and I was pleasantly surprised at the price of up to $20. It is difficult to find high-quality wireless earbuds of this quality and to make them convenient when listening to music.
Haylou GT2: Connect and Control
Haylou GT2 second-generation wireless earbuds use Bluetooth 5.0 to transmit audio. As for budget headphones, this is a good version of the connection, which is capable of transmitting sound at a distance of 10 meters.
The first connection is simple and it is similar to most other budget headphones in its class.
- You need to get the headphones from the charging case.
- Next, the right earphone will turn white, which means pairing mode.
- Then you need to go to the Bluetooth menu on your device and connect to Haylou-GT2_R.
- The indicator on the headphones stops flashing and the headphones can begin to listen.
The Haylou GT2 controls everything intuitively:
- One press – play/pause, also accept/hang up.
- Double-tap – next or previous track depending on the channel.
- If you hold 1.5 seconds, ignore the call.
- Triple press – call voice assistant.
Unfortunately, Haylou GT2 earbuds do not have the ability to adjust the volume.
Haylou GT2: Sound
Like the first generation, the Haylou GT2 uses a 7.2 mm dynamic driver, which has shown its worth. Of course, the sound quality is not ideal and it is difficult to compare it with wired headphones, but still, the sound in the GT2 is definitely worth its attention.
The low frequencies are well designed and have a good volume margin. I especially liked the bass, they are paid and voluminous. I could listen to such bass in the earbuds of Lenovo HT10 or Redmi AirDots.
The mid and high frequencies are also good, but not always – I would like to get a more crystal and clear sound. Also, the detailing is not enough, but I want to note that both female and male vocals sound good and harmonious.
The sound quality of the Haylou GT2 is very similar to SoundPEATS TrueDot with the same surround and dynamic sound. After testing, I was left with positive feelings. You can definitely listen to music if you watch movies or listen to podcasts then there are no problems at all.
The microphone quality is not ideal, since the location is not the best, but if you do not talk for a long time, then the microphone quality will not become a strong problem.
Haylou GT2: Battery
Inside the body of each channel, Haylou GT2 installed 43 mAh battery capacity. As practice showed, second-generation wireless earbuds were able to work at maximum volume for about 3.5 hours. Of course, a decent result, given its cost of less than $20.
The charging case has a 380 mAh battery, so the total runtime will be approximately 14 hours.
The charging time will be approximately 2 hours through the built-in USB cable on the charging case body.
Haylou GT2: Conclusions and Reviews
Definitely, the second generation Haylou GT2 wireless earbuds received a number of changes compared to the GT1.
The Haylou GT2 uses a mechanical button, not touch control. Also, the case does not have a cover, but there is a built-in cable for charging.
In terms of build quality and materials, they remained the same as the first generation, matte plastic showed itself well in practice.
The sound quality is quite voluminous and has a pleasant shade of sound and speaker at the proper level. In addition, the bass received a characteristic pronounced hue with a deep and surround sound.
Haylou GT2: Price and Where to buy cheaper?
Currently, you can order the second generation of Haylou GT2 earbuds at a low price for just $17.99 with a 50% discount. Also, I wanted to remind you about the date 11.11, that day there will be a mass sale and the prices will surprise you well.
If you are looking for budget earbuds with a nice look and ergonomic design, then the GT2 is a good choice.
