I think many of you know the Chinese brand Oukitel, which produces many different models of budget smartphones. But Oukitel decided to cooperate with another subsidiary called F150. Now in my hands is a completely new model of a rugged phone with an unusual name F150 B2021.
In this article I will tell you in detail my opinion about the quality of the assembly, the materials used. I will also conduct a series of endurance tests. In addition, you will find out what a rugged smartphone is capable of in terms of performance and battery life.
In terms of price, you can currently get the F150 B2021 at a pretty tempting price tag of just $110. Considering its technical component, the price tag for this protected model is very attractive.
Let’s go through the main specs and see what the device got. The first thing I liked was the new budget Helio G25 processor, as well as 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
Also on board the smartphone there are main quad cameras, a large battery capacity of 8000 mAh, the presence of an NFC module and many other features.
Therefore, from the technical features, the smartphone looks very good. But is it worth buying a rugged smartphone from a little-known brand that I heard about for the first time. Let’s take a closer look at a detailed and complete review.

Unboxing and packaging
The appearance of the packaging of a rugged smartphone looks quite typical for this class of device. For example, the dimensions of the F150 B2021 box are almost the same as that of a regular smartphone without any protection.
The box itself is made of black, and on the front, there is a drawing of the back of the smartphone. You can also notice the name of the F150 model on the side ends. To be honest, the first time when I saw the package, I thought that the name reads like FISO, but as it turned out I was wrong.
Inside the package, everything is as modest and budgetary as, among other things, the smartphone itself. For example, here I found various documentation, a Type-C charging cable, a needle for a SIM tray and a power adapter.
As you may know, most rugged smartphones have many different accessories. Like laces, screen protectors and more, but the B2021 doesn’t have all of that.
Design, build quality and materials used
Like any rugged device, the new F150 B2021 model has received full protection against water, dust and shock by the IP68/IP69K standard. That is, you can not be afraid of diving underwater to a depth of 1.5 meters, light shocks and dust.
During my test, I checked some of the above points. So, after dripping with the F150 smartphone, it worked pretty well and no questions asked. I also threw my smartphone on the floor in my office and everything was fine with it. Yes, here I want to note that if you drop the device on the asphalt, then scratches will definitely remain on the smartphone case.
There is also a high probability of glass breakage. Although the manufacturer says that the front uses a protective glass coated with Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
As for the materials used, the smartphone mainly uses a rather dense matte plastic. This, of course, is not a rubber material, but therefore the price tag for this model was about $100. As for the build quality, I also have no particular comments, the B2021 model is assembled pretty well, given its low cost.
F150 manufacturer offers two colors to choose from – black and sand. I have a sandy color on my test and it looks very unusual, as for most modern protected devices. I think this color will work well for the military.
On the back of the body, there are four main camera modules and they are located horizontally. Usually many brands do vertical layout, but here the F150 manufacturer wanted to be unique and stand out a little from the crowd. There is also a large LED flash, and one speaker is installed at the bottom.
I really liked the volume level of the speaker, it really plays loudly and you definitely won’t miss an important call or message. But I cannot call the sound quality, since there is practically no bass here and sometimes a creak is heard at high volume.
But the fingerprint scanner was installed on the right side of the F150 B2021 case. Also nearby there is a power button and two additional volume buttons. The operation of the fingerprint scanner was pretty good, that is, my finger was detected quickly and, most importantly, accurately.
On the opposite side of the case, there is a dedicated button for switching the user interface. But I will tell you about its function a little later. A little higher you can see a slot for dual nano SIM cards and a microSD memory card. I would like to note that all slots and ports are protected by dense rubber caps. They are needed so that excess moisture or water does not get inside the case.
Meanwhile, the bottom end of the F150 B2021 has a microphone hole, and under the flap is a Type-C port for charging and a 3.5 mm audio jack for headphones.
The last thing worth mentioning is size and weight. The new rugged smartphone has dimensions – 158 x 78 x 18 mm, and weighs about 315 grams. Of course, using a smartphone with one hand will be almost impossible. Well, I figured out the appearance, now let’s look at the front of the device.
Screen and image quality
As on almost any budget smartphone in 2021, finding a quality screen will be quite problematic. The same goes for the F150 B2021. The rugged smartphone has a 5.86-inch display with HD+ or 1520 x 720 pixels resolution.
Considering that the screen size is quite small, but the dimensions are almost typical as in most medium budget devices with a screen size of 6.3 inches. This is because the bezels around the screen are quite large, especially at the bottom of the screen.
Also on the bottom frame is the F150 brand logo. The top bezel has a rather large cutout for the front camera and various sensors such as proximity and notification LED. This cutout is very similar to that of the latest smartphone from Apple.
If we talk about the quality of the screen, then everything is not as bad as it seems. Yes, maybe the pixel density per inch is not the highest. But the values of the maximum brightness level are high even for everyday use in sunny weather. In addition, I liked the wide viewing angles and color reproduction.
It is also worth noting that the aspect ratio was 18: 9, and the touch panel received 5 simultaneous touches. A convenient mode is to operate the touch panel with gloves on. This is a very comfortable mode in very cold seasons, when the ambient temperature is lower than 10 degrees Celsius.
Performance, benchmarks, games and OS
If you are looking for a powerful smartphone for heavy gaming, then the F150 B2021 rugged smartphone model will not be the best choice. Inside the case, the manufacturer installed the Helio G25 processor from the MediaTek brand.
It is an eight-core budget chipset that has a maximum operating frequency of 2.0 GHz. It is also built on 12nm technology and got pretty good results in benchmarks. For example, in the AnTuTu test, the device scored about 108 thousand points. Below I will leave an album with other benchmark tests.
In terms of playability, I managed to run the demanding PUBG Mobile game. Of course, the graphics settings were low, but the gameplay was good. I think it is thanks to the ARM Mali-G71 graphics accelerator.
Another feature of this model is the presence of 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory. Considering its cost, the memory capacity is quite high here. It is also worth noting that there is a separate slot for a memory card up to 128 GB on board.
Wirelessly, the F150 B2021 uses a dual-band Wi-Fi module, as well as Bluetooth 5.0 versions, and most importantly, an NFC module for contactless payments. Yes, most rugged smartphones have a contactless payment feature and I think this is a big bonus for any user.
Ok, now a little about the operating system on the B2021 model. It uses an OS based on Android 10 with a proprietary F150 user interface. Since this is a rugged smartphone and is bought for special purposes, such as hiking or exploration. Therefore, there are many different functions and applications in the user interface. For example, this is a compass, noise level, steps and many other features.
As I said, there is a button on the left side of the case that switches the user interface from normal to advanced. At the same time, the icons are slightly modified and the interface theme is slightly changed. If you press this button several times, you can call the emergency call mode with the subscriber that you set in the settings. During emergency mode, you will have a loud alarm sound and a flashlight flickering brightly, asking for help from others.
Camera and sample photos
Knowing that this is a budget rugged smartphone model, I don’t plan to expect high results in the camera on the F150 B2021. But let’s take a quick look at the main camera modules. There are four sensors on the back, where the main module received a 13-megapixel resolution.
The second and third sensors are already 2 megapixels, and the last one is 0.3 megapixels. To be honest, for what purposes the last three modules are needed, I still do not understand.
The application camera has a large number of shooting modes. For example, here you can find modes such as photo, video, portrait, night and more. There are also additional modes in the tab – these are stickers, macro mode, selfie panorama, panorama and professional.
On the front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera. However, the quality of the photos is pretty good and I also noticed a rather large capture angle.
The maximum video resolution for the main camera was only 1080p and of course there is no question of any stabilization. Below I will leave examples of photos taken with a rugged smartphone F150 B2021.
Battery and run time
An even bigger bonus for many users when choosing the F150 B2021 rugged smartphone will be the large battery capacity of 8000 mAh. Yes, this is a very large capacity, but I’m already used to the fact that rugged smartphones use a large battery.
During my tests, the smartphone lasted a very long time and even after 2 days of active use, I could not discharge it. At the same time, I played heavy games, conducted benchmark tests and even did camera tests. That is, during normal or everyday use, the device can work for about 4-5 days.
But here’s a small drawback will be the charging time via a power adapter with a power of 10 watts. Yes, the manufacturer promises support for 18W fast charging and if you have such a power adapter, the charging time will be much shorter. In my case, it took me about 4 hours to fully charge.
Conclusion, reviews, pros and cons
The F150 B2021 is not only a stylish rugged smartphone at an affordable price, but also a great option for tough conditions.
In addition, I really liked this model very much in terms of its performance, wireless connectivity, battery life and screen.
Yes, I can list many disadvantages, such as low screen resolution, slow charging, and the camera is not the best quality. But I think that the above disadvantages are not so critical, especially considering the initially low cost.
Price and where to buy cheaper?
Initially, I didn’t really trust the F150 brand, which I first heard about. But after spending several days of active use, I was left with a positive impression. Therefore, if you are looking at an inexpensive rugged smartphone at a low price, then the B2021 model is a good choice.
Now you can get the F150 B2021 at a good and low price for only $109.99 with a 45% discount.
