The earbuds not only received a different driver and also a different sound quality, but before we talk about the sound, let’s talk about unpacking and design.

Edifier TWS6: Unboxing

The appearance of the box of the new TWS6 model reminds me of the predecessor of TWS5. This is the same small gray box where on the front you can see a picture of the earbuds, the name of the model, and on the side of the main technical features.

The box has an unusual opening, like a book and divides the box into two parts.

Where on the right side I see a charging case and earbuds, and on the left are other accessories. Such as silicone ear cushions with earwings for sports, Type-C cable, and manual.

If you remember, I did not like the bundle in the TWS5 model, as they received a MicroUSB cable, but the updated version made the right decision with the Type-C cable.

This time, I am completely satisfied with the equipment, given its price for $80.

Edifier TWS6: Design

The form factor of the Edifier TWS6 earbud is very similar to past generations, but with the exception of one point – it’s size. If we compare the generations of Edifier TWS5 and TWS6, then the latter will be much smaller. They sit well in the ears and are suitable even for small female ears.

It is also worth noting that the kit comes with a large number of ear pads with different sizes, so when using it is worth choosing the right size for your ear canal.

If you plan to play sports or other activities, then you need to wear additional earwings for a secure fit so that the earbuds do not fall out of your ear.

The entire body of the earbud is made of nice black matte plastic, and the front part has a glossy touch control panel.

In addition, on the outside, there is a company logo and LED indicator. The inner part received contacts for charging and a headphone channel designation.

The protection against water is also present under the IP55 standard, but I do not recommend swimming in the shower or in the pool.

The charging case is made of glossy plastic, but surprisingly it does not leave fingerprints, as is usually the case. The appearance of the case has been changed when compared with previous generations, and now it is slightly elongated and thinner.

The lid got a magnetic mount and I did not find any backlash. On the back, you can see the button for pairing.

The lower part of the box body has a Type-C port connector, but not in the center, but on the side, and for me this solution is not very familiar.

Another important feature of Edifier TWS6 is the presence of wireless charging. An attractive solution and I’m certainly glad to see this feature.

Edifier TWS6: Connection and Control

Like previous generations, the new Edifier TWS6 earbuds are connected via Bluetooth 5.0. As practice has shown, I did not find any problems with failures or interruptions; the connection is good at a distance of 10 meters from the source.

The connection is standard, as in the previous generation, but the pairing button has appeared and now you don’t have to get the earbuds at the first pairing. When you open the cover of the charging case and press the pairing button, after which you can go to the Bluetooth menu on your device for further connection.

But control is not as rich as we would like. To pause or play, you need to touch the right earbud twice. To accept or hang up, touch any of the earbud channels twice. The last call of the voice assistant is to double-tap on the left earbud.

This ends the functionality, there is no switching of tracks and volume control. As for me, I would like to get a wider range of control capabilities.

Edifier TWS6: Sound

The main difference between past generations of Edifier TWS1 and TWS5 with the new TWS6 is a completely different driver. I would like to remind you that on the first models there was a 6 mm dynamic driver, then already on the new one we installed the absolutely premium Knowles balanced armature driver.

The earbuds proved to be worthy in practice since the sound quality is an order of magnitude better than on TWS5 and TWS1. The low frequencies have a very clear sound, but at the same time with elastic and surround bass. This combination is not familiar to me and such a solution is rarely found in budget models of earbuds.

The mid and high frequencies are not tuned correctly and got a musical character. I did not find any flaws during testing. Both female and male vocals sound frontal to you and the performer’s voice is very clear and detailed.

Each musical instrument has its own shade of sound and good detail will allow you to enjoy the sound of music, not only during sports but also during daily trips to work or school.

It is worth noting also about the high-quality microphone since CVC noise reduction works perfectly with the combination of Edifier TWS6 earbuds. The interlocutors heard me well even in noisy places.

Edifier TWS6: Battery

A battery with a capacity of 60 mAh was installed in each earbud, which allowed achieving a battery life of about 8 hours.

During testing, Edifier TWS6 worked at maximum volume for about 7 hours and 40 minutes. Really a very solid result, but besides this, you have in addition a charging case with 500 mAh. The total battery life will be approximately 32 hours.

A full charge will take about 1.5 hours and through a wireless charger for about 3 hours.

Edifier TWS6: Conclusion and Reviews

The new generation of wireless earbuds Edifier TWS6 showed their positive side and received sufficient improvements compared to previous models.

But it could not do without minuses, for example, the multifunctional touch panel has a not very wide range of functions and I would like to switch tracks and adjust the volume. Maybe in the next generation, the manufacturer Edifier will make the functionality more interesting.

Of course, there are many more pluses than minuses, which I can attribute to them – this is an attractive and ergonomic design, good sound and microphone quality due to the new Knowles balanced armature driver, the presence of Qualcomm chipset and aptX codec. The battery life remains as long as previous generations.

Edifier TWS6: Price and Where to buy cheaper?

Now you can buy the new generation Edifier TWS6 earbuds at a good and low price for just $79.29 with a 39% discount.

The new generation of earbuds received good technical features, high-quality sound, and an attractive price, so I can definitely recommend TWS6 for purchase.
