The Doogee company introduced to the mobile market a new model of a rugged smartphone called Doogee V10.
In this review, I will talk about all the advantages and also share the disadvantages that I identified during one week of testing. Therefore, in this review you can find out not only the design features of the device, but also talk about benchmark tests, play games, and make a test with examples of camera photos.
If we talk about cost, then at present the price tag will not be the most attractive. For example, now you can buy a Doogee V10 rugged smartphone for $307.
For this price, you get technical features such as a 6.39-inch HD+ screen. In addition, the smartphone used a Dimensity 700 processor with a 5G network and had 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory.
The device also has three main camera modules on the back of the case with a 48-megapixel main sensor. You can also highlight the presence of a large built-in battery with a capacity of 8500 mAh with 33W fast charging power and 10W wireless charging power.
From the technical features, the smartphone from Doogee is worth your attention, but let’s check the device in practice. Therefore, I propose to start my full and in-depth testing with unboxing and appearance.

Unboxing and packaging
A rugged smartphone from the Doogee brand is delivered in a rather large and not the most compact package. But this is not a surprise to me, as most rugged devices come in large packages. In addition, the box itself was made in black and only the brand name was on the front. But on the back of the box was a sticker with basic information about the company.
Well, after opening the package, I found the following components, this is, directly, the smartphone itself. On the screen of the device, you could find a protective film, which is very good. In addition, the manufacturer has equipped the device with another separate protective film and there is also a set for sticking the film itself on the screen.
The device also received a power adapter with a power of 33W, a Type-C charging cable to a Type-C connector, a lanyard and instructions for use. Like any other rugged smartphone, you will not find a protective silicone case in the package. But this is not surprising, since the body of the smartphone is also already protected.
Design, build quality and materials
I think it will come as no surprise to anyone that the new Doogee V10 rugged smartphone is a very bulky device. For example, the dimensions of the smartphone were 169.3 x 81.2 x 16.1 mm, and the weight was about 340 grams. That is, it will not be very comfortable to operate a smartphone compared to a conventional device. But this is what you sacrifice when choosing a secure device.
In terms of protection, the device is fully protected against falls, bullets and water. Protection standards are typical IP68 and IP69K. During my testing, I managed to wet the device several times under water and drop it on the floor. After a small endurance test, the smartphone survived and worked perfectly.
My version was made in red, but the main color of the device was black. But only the side faces were red in their performance. Also available in olive and orange colors.
If we talk about the materials of manufacture, then everything is not so bad here. For example, the device was completely protected from all sides by special rubber plastic, both on the back side and on its edges. In addition, the smartphone received two metal reinforced plates at the ends of the device. This makes the device even more robust.
On the back of the Doogee V10 smartphone, you can find a main camera module of three sensors and a scanner for determining body temperature. That is, you will be able to measure the temperature of the body, both of a person and of objects. For example, to measure the temperature of a person’s body, you need to bring the smartphone at a distance of 1-3 cm from the head.
But at the same time, the results of the thermometer’s work were always different and I could not achieve a constant value. Therefore, I don’t think it will be useful as a medical device.
On the front of the smartphone, you can see a round cutout for a selfie camera. This new trend has already spread to rugged smartphones, but I cannot say that the bezels around the screen were very minimal. For example, the manufacturer could easily install the front camera module not in the cutout of the screen, but on the top frame of the smartphone.
On the side faces of the device, I found the following buttons. The volume up and down button, the power button and the fingerprint scanner were located on the right side of the smartphone. But on the opposite side, there was a slot for dual nano SIM cards and a custom button for quick access to various tasks.
At the same time, on the bottom of the smartphone case, I identified a Type-C charging port, which was located under the cap and there was also a hole for the microphone.
As you may have noticed, there was no slot for a memory card on board the smartphone as well as a headphone jack. I forgot to tell you about the speaker, on the Doogee V10 rugged smartphone it is alone and is located on the back of the device. The sound quality was not at the highest level, but there was enough headroom for all occasions.
Screen and image quality
On the front of the Doogee V10 smartphone, a 6.39-inch screen with HD + resolution or 1560 x 720 pixels was installed. The pixel density per inch was 270 PPI with an aspect ratio of 19: 9.
I think it will be no secret to anyone that the smartphone screen used the most standard IPS matrix. Therefore, I did not have any special problems with viewing angles. In addition, the contrast ratio was not the highest at about 1000: 1, but I did not reveal any particular complaints with the color rendition.
For example, colors were rendered accurately and had the correct shade. On the other hand, the maximum brightness value was within 400 nits. This is not a super bright screen and outdoor use will not be the most comfortable experience.
In the settings of the smartphone screen, I found the following features. These include adjusting the screen brightness, activating the automatic brightness function, turning on the reading mode, dark theme and many other features.
Performance, benchmarks, games and OS
Inside the body of the smartphone Doogee V10 uses the most common processor from MediaTek, called the Dimensity 700. It was built using 7 nanometer technology and had eight cores in its execution. At the same time, the two main yards were high-performance Cortex A76 at 2.2 GHz and six energy-efficient Cortex A55 at 2.0 GHz.
If we talk about benchmark tests, then the rugged smartphone from Doogee scored good results in synthetic tests. For example, in the AnTuTu test, the device scored about 360 thousand points. In fact, the result is very good, as for its class of devices. Also below you can look at the results of other benchmark tests.
As for the performance in games, the Doogee V10 smartphone coped with the tasks without any particular complaints. For example, I was able to play PUBG Mobile and other games. After 1 hour of gaming, the device practically did not heat up and had an operating temperature of both the processor and the ARM Mali-G57 MC2 graphics accelerator.
In addition, the smartphone has received a large amount of internal memory. That is, the device was equipped with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory in UFS 2.2 format. But do not forget that you will not be able to use the memory card slot on the new model of the V10 smartphone, since it is not here.
Among other features, the smartphone stands out for the presence of a dual-band Wi-Fi module and Bluetooth 5.2 version. In addition, the device has a GPS and an NFC module for contactless payments on board. During my testing, I did not find any special complaints with the use of all the above modules.
The Doogee V10 smartphone is controlled by the latest version of the Android 11 operating system. It is practically a stock operating system, which has received many interesting and useful features. For example, the device has a full suite of Google services and applications. That is, there are already such applications as YouTube, Chrome and others.
Overall the user interface was very simple, but sometimes there was some crashing and closing of applications. Therefore, there were system errors, but not significant ones. But the speed of work and opening applications was very fast and smooth.
Camera and sample shots
The main camera in the rugged Doogee V10 smartphone received a 48-megapixel resolution from Samsung S5KGM1ST03-FGX9. In addition, the device has an 8-megapixel camera module for ultra-wide shots and a 2-megapixel module for portrait images with background blur.
At the same time, the front camera was equipped with a 16-megapixel SONY IMX 351 module. In fact, the quality of the photos was pretty good, but in good lighting. For example, the 48MP main sensor took pretty good quality photos in bright sunny weather. But when the sun went down, the photos dropped significantly in detail.
But I cannot call the ultra-wide mode high-quality, since even in good lighting, the photos turn out to be a little blurry.
If we talk about the mobile application, then here I managed to find many interesting modes. These are video, photo, bokeh, ultra-wide mode, manual, beauty, panorama and others. The maximum video resolution on the main camera module can shoot in 2K at 30 frames per second. But the front camera shoots at 1080p and also 30 frames per second.
Battery and run time
If the camera does not stand out as a strong point in the new model of the rugged smartphone Doogee V10, then the battery life surprised me. Since the manufacturer has installed an 8500 mAh battery inside the case.
According to the test results, the device with active use was able to work for a full 3 days. This is a very good result for such a device. But also do not forget that the screen here is small and only has HD + resolution.
The device also stands out for the presence of fast charging with a power of 33 W and a full charge took me about 2.5 hours. In addition, the smartphone supports wireless charging and its power is 10 watts.
Conclusion, reviews, pros and cons
Doogee V10 is not a simple rugged smartphone like most of its competitors. This model of the device received a number of interesting features, and let me tell you about them.
On the positive side, I can highlight the presence of a productive Dimensity 700 processor with support for 5G network. In addition, the smartphone stands out with a good amount of memory with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory.
Another advantage I can attribute is this rugged case with full protection from water, drops and dust. There is also a large internal battery with support for fast and wireless charging.
If we talk about the minuses, then the first one I can highlight is that it is a heavy device, compared to conventional smartphone models. I also didn’t like the lack of a memory card slot and headphone jack. Also, the camera and the operating system are not the strong points of this unit.
Price and where to buy cheaper?
Now everyone can buy a new model of Doogee V10 rugged smartphone at a price of $307.97 with a 41% discount.
The manufacturer also offers to buy separately wireless charging or smartwatches at a low price in the kit. In general, the device from the Doogee company turned out to be very good, but such a smartphone is not suitable for every user.
