BlitzWolf AirAux AA-UM7 Review: Typical TWS Earbuds Under $20

Last week I was able to test the gaming model of wireless earbuds from BlitzWolf. I really liked this headphone model and if you are interested to know my opinion, then here I will leave a link to the review. Today I have on test another budget TWS semi in-ear earbuds called BlitzWolf AirAux AA-UM7.

From the name it is easy to guess that the BlitzWolf brand has collaborated with AirAux and released a budget version of TWS earbuds. But will there be a successful collaboration between the two brands? You can learn about all this after reading the full test.

The official price for the BlitzWolf AirAux AA-UM7 earbuds was $26. As a bonus, I will leave a discount coupon BGUM7SEA for you and with its use the price tag will be only $19. That’s a pretty low cost, but can the earbuds compete with brands like QCY and the like?

First, let me briefly talk about the technical specifications so that you can understand what the new model of AirAux AA-UM7 wireless earbuds is capable of. I cannot single out any specific features, since these are the most ordinary TWS earbuds that I have come across lately.

For example, the earbuds are shaped like semi in-ear earbuds, so there are no silicone ear tips. Also, the device has a wireless connection Bluetooth 5.0 version with AAC and SBC codecs. I can also note the presence of protection against water under the IPX4 standard and the good performance of the touch panel.

I think you are interested to know how the sound sounds through the new model of earbuds from the BlitzWolf brand. But first things first, and I plan to start my in-depth review with the appearance of the packaging and the package itself.

Unboxing and packaging

I was a little surprised to see the budget box, which is made of white thin cardboard with red elements in the design. But I was also a little disappointed that there was only the AirAux brand in the product name, but there is not a single word about BlitzWolf.

Also on the front of the package, you can find a drawing of earbuds and a charging box with the inscriptions of the name of the company and model. Okay, inside the box, I found the following components, such as a charging box with earbuds, a Type-C charging cable, and an English manual.

As I said, the earbuds were made in the form of semi in-ear earbuds. Therefore, the scope of delivery does not include silicone ear tips, since they are not provided here by their structure. Okay, now I suggest taking a closer look at the earbuds and finding out their build quality.

Design, quality of materials and workmanship

Naturally, you should not expect high-quality plastic in budget earbuds with a price tag of up to $20. I think many users understand that you get similar products for a low cost. Therefore, the BlitzWolf AirAux AA-UM7 model does not have the highest quality plastic in its performance and there are no miracles here.

But I was pleased that the plastic is made of a matte material, and not from a budget glossy option. Thus, there were practically no fingerprints and the case looked brand new after all my checks and use.

I should also point out that the build quality of the AirAux AA-UM7 earbuds is pretty good. The entire body is assembled in one piece and it has no extraneous sounds and creaks. In addition, I will add about a simple protection against sweat and splashes under the IPX4 standard. Of course, you can go in for sports easily, but you definitely can’t swim or swim with earbuds.

As for the wearing comfort, I had no problems with the BlitzWolf AirAux AA-UM7 model. I could listen to music for almost hours and just like watching movies or TV shows. This is not surprising since these are semi in-ear earbuds, not in-ear earbuds with ear tips. I think everyone understands that semi in-ear earbuds are more comfortable in comfort than earbuds with silicone ear tips.

On the front part of the case, in its upper part, there is a touch control with a channel designation. Just below there is an LED sensor that lights up during pairing mode. And on the very leg flaunts the logo of the AirAux brand and again there is no mention of the BlitzWolf brand, does it not seem strange to you?

Meanwhile, on the inside, you can find two contacts for charging and a sound guide with an interesting shape. The very hole for the microphone was located on the bottom of the leg. Do you think the microphone quality will be good? But I’ll tell you about it a little later, so be patient a little.

The charging box itself is made of the same plastic as the earbuds. But now you can distinguish a transparent black cover with a matte finish. Through this cover, you can see how the LED indicators on the earbuds are on while charging.

It is worth saying that the earbuds are charged only when the charging box lid is closed. If the lid in the box has an open position, then charging is not carried out and the pairing mode is activated. That is, to connect the earbuds to a mobile device, it is not necessary to remove the earbuds from the seats of the charging case.

I can also highlight an interesting red rim around the charging box lid. It gives the earbuds a little freshness and youthfulness. I forgot to say that the AirAux AA-UM7 headphone model comes in only one version – it is in black light and there are no other options here.

On the front of the case, there is again the AirAux logo. But on the opposite side, there is a Type-C charging connector and four LED indicators. It was a little strange for me to see the charge level indicators on the back of the charging box.

Another strangeness can be attributed to the location of the seats for the earbuds. For example, the right earbud is on the left side and the left earbud is on the right. It was a little disorienting for me the first time I used it. But I want to note that the assembly is not bad, since the lid practically does not play and does not close in the open position by itself.

Connection, latency and touch control

I already mentioned at the beginning of the review that the new BlitzWolf AirAux AA-UM7 earbuds received a Bluetooth 5.0 version of the wireless connection. Also, earbuds are connected thanks to the AAC and SBC codecs to a mobile device. Throughout my testing, I have had no signal quality issues.

I can also note that the earbuds can be connected as a pair or separately. The disadvantage is the absence of any useful functions. For example, the earbuds do not have automatic pause sensors and other options.

Speaking about the level of latency, I was pleasantly surprised by the minimal latency while watching videos on YouTube. Even playing games was quite comfortable, but I can’t call the gaming earbuds, like the BlitzWolf BW FLB2 model.

I have no complaints about the touch control at all. On board the earbuds, there is a multifunctional touch control with all kinds of functions.

  • One touch increases or decreases the volume level depending on the channel.
  • Double-tapping leads to play, pause, accept or put a phone call.
  • Triple tap brings up the voice assistant on your mobile device.
  • Holding it for a few seconds switches tracks forward or backward, depending on the channel of the earbuds.

Sound and microphone quality

I’m not exactly sure what size driver was installed inside the BlitzWolf AirAux AA-UM7 earbuds. Since I did not find any information either on the official website or in the instructions. But I guess the size is about 8mm.

Remember that AirAux AA-UM7 are semi in-ear earbuds? Therefore, you should not expect massive, voluminous and high-quality bass. It is also worth noting that the maximum volume level is not the most powerful that I have heard. Thus, it was easy for me to listen to music or watch movies even at maximum volume.

At the same time, I can say that the middle and high frequencies play very well. The vocalist’s voice sounds very bright and straightforward. The same goes for musical instruments, they play separately and quite well, for their class of wireless earbuds.

If we compare the sound quality with competitors, then obviously the model from the BlitzWolf company does not quite match the models of the earbuds from the QCY company. Therefore, when choosing new earbuds, I would advise you to consider earbuds from the QCY brand.

As for the quality of the microphone, I have no good news. If in a quiet room the microphone quality was of average quality, then in a noisy place my interlocutors heard me problematically.

Battery and run time

In each BlitzWolf AirAux AA-UM7 earbud, the manufacturer installed a battery with a capacity of 50 mAh. At the same time, the charging box received a battery capacity of 500 mAh.

During my test, the earbuds lasted 3 hours and 35 minutes at maximum volume. Although the manufacturer promised 4 hours of battery life. But I guess it can be done at 60-70% volume levels. If you use the charging box, the total battery life will be approximately 18 to 20 hours.

Charging is done via a Type-C connection and a full charge takes about 2 hours.

Conclusion, reviews, pros and cons

The new generation of BlitzWolf AirAux AA-UM7 wireless earbuds has become the most common test for me. In this model of earbuds, I did not find any unique features and interesting chips.

Among the advantages I can highlight are good build quality, multifunctional touch controls, minimal latency and even good sound quality in mid and high frequencies.

Besides that, there are also disadvantages, so let’s talk a little about them. The first is the budget plastic used. I also didn’t like the quality of the low frequencies and the lack of any bass. I also cannot single out a strong point – battery life.

Price and where to buy cheaper?

As I said, the price for the new BlitzWolf AirAux AA-UM7 earbuds was $25.99. But I have a coupon BGUM7SEA and the final price will be $18.99.

Naturally, as you can understand, I cannot recommend this earbud model. Below I will leave a list of competitors that will be an order of magnitude better than today’s hero from BlitzWolf and AirAux.
