Anker is a prime example of high-quality sound in its wireless еarbud models. Today I have a new model under review with the next name Anker Soundcore Life Dot 2.
If you are interested in this brand, then I suggest you read my other tests of TWS wireless еarbuds from Anker.
I can attribute the new model of Life Dot 2 еarbuds to the middle category of devices since the price tag on them does not exceed $50.
The main features of Anker Soundcore Life Dot 2, I can highlight an 8 mm dynamic driver, IPX5 water protection, Type-C port with fast charging, up to 100 hours of battery life, and much more.
Let me tell you how the еarbuds sound quality in real life, as well as their main advantages and disadvantages.
Anker Soundcore Life Dot 2: Specifications
|Anker Soundcore Life Dot 2:||Specs|
|Driver unit:||8mm Dynamic|
|Bluetooth protocol:||AAC and SBC|
|Charging Time:||60 min|
A fairly voluminous box came to my desk for review. On the front part you can see a pattern of еarbuds and a charging box, and the inscription 100 hours of play is highlighted in capital letters.
On the back of the box, there is a list of the main features that I mentioned earlier.
Inside the box, I am joyfully greeted by the following components – these are instructions for use, a charging box, headphones, four sets of silicone ear tips, and two sets of ear wings with a Type-C cable.
I was very pleased to see the Type-C cable and a large set of various sizes of silicone ear tips.
The appearance of the new Anker Soundcore Life Dot 2 wireless earbuds is almost no different from any other brands that I tested earlier. I can also note that the external new Life Dot 2 is very similar to the Galaxy Buds Plus.
The design is not remarkable but has a number of interesting features. For example, the presence of special ear wings is capable of holding the device in the ear canal 100%. Thanks to these silicone ear wings, I could not worry that I would lose my earbuds during a quick run.
In terms of comfort, the earbuds really fit perfectly in my ear canal and even after 2 hours of continuous use, I did not feel any discomfort.
The outside of the earbud has a physical control button on which there is a logo. Of course, many users like touch control, but I would like to warn in advance that the button is pressed very easily. Therefore, I did not feel any pressure in the ear canal while switching tracks.
The internal part of the device received three connectors for charging with a magnetic connection. Here you can see the correct sound guide that fits my ear shape perfectly.
Also, Anker Soundcore Life Dot 2 earbuds received protection against the water of the IPX5 standard. Thus, you can not be afraid of sweat or rain during training.
The charging case is made of the same material as the earbuds themselves, which is black matte plastic. On top of the lid, there is a company logo and it opens without a strong backlash.
On the back of the box, there is a port with a Type-C connection. Yes, there is no USB-A port, as on many competitors, although the battery capacity is quite high.
The charging box weighs about 95 grams, so wearing it in your pants pocket will not be very comfortable.
Of course, I liked the earbuds both in appearance and in build quality. The materials used are quite high quality and fully consistent prices.
Connection and Control
The new Anker Soundcore Life Dot 2 earbuds received a wireless connection Bluetooth 5.0, which provides a high-quality signal. During my testing, I did not find any disconnection and the signal was stable and strong, even far from the signal source.
Of course, like any inexpensive earbuds, the Life Dot 2 model has a slight delay during games, but when watching videos on YouTube, I did not feel any delay.
The controls are standard like most TWS earbuds:
- One-click – causes play, pause, accept, or hang up.
- Double-tap – toggles the track forward or backward.
- Triple press – calls the voice assistant function on the smartphone.
The downside for me was the lack of volume control.
Given that this is an inexpensive model of wireless earbuds, but Anker Soundcore Life Dot 2 plays very powerful and dynamic. All thanks to the presence of an 8 mm dynamic driver in each channel of the earbud.
The low frequencies received a strong and pleasant bass that accompanies a pleasant sound quality.
The mids and highs are pretty clean and every musical instrument can be heard clearly and vividly. Even at maximum volume, the earbuds play without any distortion.
The microphone quality is not the most favorable, but short phone calls will be satisfied.
Most manufacturers do not indicate the battery capacity inside the earbud and charging box, and Anker is no exception.
Despite this, I got about 7 hours of playing music at maximum volume. The charging box accompanies an additional charge and the total battery life will be about 100 hours.
In addition, the earbuds have fast charged and in 10 minutes of charge I can get 1.5 hours of time listening to music.
Conclusion and Reviews
Anker Soundcore Life Dot 2 is not the most unique earbuds, but they received a number of interesting features and functions.
For example, TWS Life Dot 2 earbuds are very convenient and comfortable to wear and use for a long time. Also, the earbuds are ideal for sports due to special silicone ear wings and IPX5 water protection.
The sound quality is very positive, given its low cost. You can easily listen to any genre of music, watch movies, and listen to audiobooks.
The disadvantages I can include are the lack of volume control and not the most ideal microphone quality.
