Anker Soundcore Liberty Neo Review: TWS Earbuds with Graphene Driver

Anker Soundcore is known for its high-quality wireless headphones. Earlier, I already did a review on the top version of the earbuds called Anker Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro. Today we will talk about the budget model Anker Soundcore Liberty Neo.

This wireless earbud came to me recently, but they have been on sale for a long time. Despite this, the Liberty Neo model is still snapping up like hot hotdogs.

All for simple reasons – price and sound quality. You can currently buy Anker Soundcore Liberty Neo for around $35.

Anker Soundcore Liberty Neo: Unboxing

The budget earbuds from Anker Soundcore come in a small but bright box. On the front part, you can see the name of the model, and a charging box with earbuds.

The back of the box has the main technical features. For example, a graphene driver, ultralight, 20 hours of battery life with a charging case, IPX7 water protection and one action for pairing.

Inside the box, I was met by a charging case with earbuds that were in a protective transport film.

In addition, there was an instruction, a micro USB charging cable and ear tips and earwigs of various sizes.

The package bundle is quite voluminous, but here the Micro USB connector does not surprise me since the price does not exceed $100, as it was with the JBL Tune 220 TWS model.

Anker Soundcore Liberty Neo: Design

Like its older brother Liberty 2 Pro, the budget model Liberty Neo has a typical shape. The whole body is made of matte black plastic. The earbuds are assembled at a decent level, both for their class.

But the dimensions, as for me, are a little too big. Although I can’t say that in my ears they sit poorly and not harmoniously. Of course, for a long time, you are not like them, but 2-3 hours of continuous wearing will not cause you much discomfort. But in winter, wearing a hat will not be comfortable.

On the front part, there is a mechanical button. It works for sure, but when the earbuds are in my ears, I had a little discomfort when switching. Also nearby is an LED indicator. During music playback, the diodes do not blink, which is already pleasing.

From the inside, there are two connectors for charging with a magnetic connection and here you can see the notation of the channel.

The sound guide has received a rather long size and in their ears, they are sitting dead. Even the additional earwigs can not be used during sports, the earbuds will not fall out. On the base of the sound guide, there is a metal mesh to prevent excess dirt and debris.

But the standard silicone ear tips, I advise you to exchange for more expensive ones, since the sound in them will not be so voluminous and clean.

In addition, the manufacturer boasts IPX7 standard water protection. Indeed, for its class – this is a rare occurrence. You can’t be afraid of rain, but you can’t swim with them in the pool or take a shower.

The charging case is already made of another material – it is a glossy dark blue plastic with an iridescent silver tint. It strongly leaves fingerprints, and the dimensions are not the most compact. It’s hard to fit in your jeans pocket.

The lid has a magnetic mount, it opens easily and I did not notice much play. Thus, the case is assembled at a fairly decent level.

Three LED indicators were installed on the front of the box, which indicates the level of the remaining charge. The back of the case has a charging Micro USB port with a rubber plug.

Despite its size, both the charging case and the earbuds themselves, Anker Soundcore Liberty Neo are assembled efficiently and have decent materials to use.

Anker Soundcore Liberty Neo: Connectivity and Control

Without any doubt, the Anker Soundcore Liberty Neo earbuds have a Bluetooth connection with version 5.0. During testing, the earbuds showed a worthy side in terms of call quality.

For all the time I did not have a single failure or interruption. These are the only earbuds with a very strong signal, even in more expensive models it was possible to meet slight delays.

The earbuds are connected very fast and quickly. At the first pairing – you need to turn on the earbuds and go to the Bluetooth menu on your mobile device and connect to the headphones. Further connections will be automatic.

The switching is standard, like most wireless headphones. One-click – play/pause, and also accept/hung up. Hold for about 1 second – switch forward or backward, depending on the channel. Double-clicking on any of the earbuds – calls the voice assistant. But there will be no volume control through the earbuds.

Anker Soundcore Liberty Neo: Sound

A 6mm graphene driver was installed inside each Anker Soundcore Liberty Neo earbuds. This greatly affected the sound quality compared to a conventional dynamic emitter.

Indeed, the low frequencies are very voluminous, have good dynamics, and most importantly, the bass is dense and does not interrupt the middle frequencies.

The high frequencies, even at maximum volume, do not wheeze, and medium frequencies received crystal-clear and detailed sound. Each instrument can be heard individually and the sounds do not merge into a single mess.

The quality of the microphone is at a decent level, but I would not call it ideal. For example, in a quiet place, the interlocutor will hear you just like through a smartphone. But in noisy places – there will be a speakerphone effect.

Anker Soundcore Liberty Neo: Battery

After testing Anker Soundcore Liberty Neo, I got several autonomy results. At maximum volume, the earbuds worked for 4 hours. But listening to music at maximum volume is quite difficult, ears hurt even after 30 minutes of listening. If you listen at a 75-80% volume level – autonomy will increase to 4 hours and 30 minutes.

Through the charging case, you can recharge the earbuds 4 times. At the same time, get a total battery life of about 18 hours, depending on the volume level.

The case will be fully charged for 1.5 hours via the Micro USB port. Also, 10 minutes of charging the earbuds in the case will allow you to listen to music for 1 hour.

Anker Soundcore Liberty Neo: Conclusion and Reviews

I now understand why this earbud buys so well and leave positive reviews. Anker Soundcore Liberty Neo has a large list of advantages that are difficult to find with other competitors for this price.

Anker Soundcore Liberty Neo Review: TWS Earbuds with Graphene Driver

The Liberty Neo model has remarkable sound quality thanks to the graphene driver and the quality of communication at a high level, given its low price. I would also note the good quality of the microphone and a decent result of battery life.

The disadvantages include the MicroUSB port and mechanical pressing does a little pressure while switching functions.
