Amazifit GTR received two options for 42 and 47 mm. Today I will test the 42 mm version, which received a 1.2 inch AMOLED touch screen, water protection up to 50 meters, GPS and GLONASS, 12 sport modes, 195mAh battery capacity and up to 12 days of battery life.

The main feature of the 42 mm version is its compactness and I will talk about this in more detail in the review below.

There is also a large selection of colors and sizes in the design, but more on that later. Ok, let’s get down to our detailed review of smartwatches.

Amazfit GTR: Unboxing

A small black box with a pattern of hours and basic functions on the front side will be provided to your attention.

Under the outer black cover, I found a white standard box in which it was packed: an Amazfit GTR watch with a protective film in the form of a dial, a charging docking station for charging with a two-pin connection and instructions.

Everything is packed perfectly and without any questions, I did not see any damage during the inspection of the watch.

Amazfit GTR: Design and Appearance

As I wrote above, the watch comes in various sizes – with 42 and 47 mm screen sizes. In addition, the color scheme is different and is suitable for both the male and female half.

A compact 1.2-inch touch screen makes it easy to control the watch without any difficulties. AMOLED technology makes color reproduction realistic and vibrant.

A screen resolution of 390 x 390 pixels shows a good pixel density per inch – 326 ppi. The viewing angles are good, color saturation is wonderful, especially black, thanks to the AMOLED matrix.

It is also worth noting that the manufacturing materials are also different, Amazifit GTR comes with an aluminum, steel or titanium case.

During testing, I received an aluminum 42 mm version. What are they remarkable for? Of course – this is the size!

The dimensions of the watch are 42.6 x 42.6 x 9.2 mm and the strap is 197 x 20 x 9 mm. In our case, this is a silicone strap in black, short, pleasant to the touch. You can also choose color options for your taste when ordering smartwatches.

I want to please users that the strap is removable and, if necessary, you can easily replace it with any other. The width of the strap for the 42 mm version is – 20 mm, and for the 47 mm version – 22 mm.

The watch weighs 45 grams for the 42 mm version of the diagonal, they lie comfortably on the hand. Indeed, while walking or training, the weight of the Amazifit GTR smartwatch is not even felt.

Around the dial, there are dedicated bands that will help you easily navigate in time if you have an analog dial.

Two buttons are located on the right side – the top one is turning on or moving backward. Another button is quick access to various functions that you can customize for yourself, but I’ll talk about this later. The buttons themselves are round and have good responsiveness. The power button received a red bezel, it looks stylish and youthful.

Around the dial, I see a glossy border that gives the Amazifit GTR an amazing appearance.

On the back of smart devices, I found a push-pull connector for charging and a sensor for measuring heart rate. It is also worth noting that the back panel is made of plastic.

An important feature is the presence of protection against water to a depth of 50 meters immersion.

In general, the design looks youthful and since Amazifit presented a large number of options, the watch will easily suit a wide audience. Also, the appearance looks universal, they are well suited for both sports and business meetings. In addition, my 42 mm version has received compact dimensions and they are well considered for thin wrist.

Amazfit GTR: Functions

The main screen shows a large amount of information, for example, time, date, day of the week, how many steps have been taken and the distance traveled. Also, if you hold the main screen, then you can change the design of the dials.

There are only two watch face options available, but you can install more than 100 options through the app on your mobile device.

Scrolling up or down the touch screen will show you the main functions, such as checking statistics of steps and distance, checking your heart rate, sports modes, notifications, weather, and an alarm clock. You can also find useful features like a compass and altimeter, stopwatch and much more.

Let’s take a closer look at controlling smartwatches. If you hold the Amazifit GTR and swipes from top to bottom on the screen, you get to the quick menu. Here you will find on top the battery level icons, Bluetooth connection. Below are the following functions: Flashlight, brightness, do not disturb mode, energy-saving battery mode, and lock.

If you swipe the screen from the right to the left or vice versa from the main screen, I see steps are taken, distance and calories, as well as a measurement of heart rate.

In addition, if you hold from bottom to top, you will take away the main menu of smartwatches. Features such as status, heart rate, workout, activity, weather, music, notification, alarm, reminder, more and settings will be present.

A useful feature is a music player through which you can control music on a mobile device. If you want to increase the volume or switch the track, then you will not need to remove the phone from your pocket, but simply perform the required operations on your wrist.

A very convenient feature, both for training and for everyday purposes.

Another major feature in Amazifit GTR is the availability of wireless payment – NFC. Therefore, paying for your purchases will be easy and simple.

Dual positioning via GPS and GLONASS will give you the opportunity to realistic pedometer data and distance traveled. Given this fact, your workouts will have more accurate indicators.

The Amazifit GTR smartwatch has the same functionality as the latest generation of the Xiaomi Mi Band 4 smart bracelet. But due to the larger screen, using and managing the watch is much more convenient and comfortable.

The watch can track heart rate for 24 hours, both day and night. If the device detects abnormal stress during training, the new Amazifit will alert you to this.

There is also sleep monitoring, which will show your sleep level, quality and how long you slept in deep and light sleep.

Twelve training modes, such as running, walking, cycling, swimming and much more will make your workouts comfortable. At the end of the workout, you will receive the test results in graphical form, which loads for the heart rhythm were critical or normal. Also, many other numbers will help make your workouts more productive if you do the analysis correctly.

Amazifit GTR: Application

The watch works with Bluetooth 5.0 wireless network, so you can easily connect the application on your mobile device.

Through the application, you can track your physical activity by category, during the day, week and month. If you had the Amazifit Watch before, then you will not find any problems with the setting. But even if you first encountered the clock application, the settings menu is simple and intuitive.

As I said above, in the settings through the Amazifit app, download a large number of the watch faces.

In addition, you can configure the receipt of calls from the phone, configure which applications will participate in the full moon of notifications and much more.

Also, there is an expanded ability to configure a heart rate sensor, for example, a detection method such as automatic, sleep assistant, automatic or sleep assistant and the latter to turn off.

In general, the Amazifit app will make your smartwatch a little more improvement and allow you to configure features for your daily goals.

Amazfit GTR: Battery

Amazifit GTR on the 42 mm version has a 195 mAh battery, which allows the watch to work up to 12 days. As for smartwatches, this is a good indicator, since many watches on Android OS work only about 2-3 days depending on the load.

The manufacturer also says that the GTR watch comes with a Sony chip with a 28 nm processor, which reduces energy consumption by ⅓ times than that of a similar smartwatch with a GPS module.

Charging time is up to 2 hours through the charging dock, which comes with the device.

Amazfit GTR: Conclusions and Reviews

The Amazfit GTR smartwatch is an ideal watch that can be worn for both sporting and business meetings in our review.

The universal appearance and also a large selection of configurations in terms of design will allow you to purchase those watches that best fit your style.

Functionality and a large number of settings and training modes will make your classes more productive.

Amazfit GTR Review: Smartwatches with GPS and NFC

A large 1.39-inch screen looks premium and all indicators are readable even in sunny weather. Detailing the screen with a large pixel density and therefore will not strain your eyes.

One of the most important indicators is the work time and indeed, the Amazfit GTR smartwatch surprised me, since their battery life is 12 days – this is not 2 days like most competitors have.

Amazfit GTR: Price and where to buy cheaper?

Now you can buy an Amazifit GTR smartwatch at a low price for just $ 139.99 with a 17% discount.

If we recall the past generations of Amazfit Watch and Watch 2, the price has not increased, but the appearance and functionality have become more extensive and useful.
