Most of my regular readers love the compact projector reviews. Therefore, today I have another device on the test, which is called AAO YG430.
This is the first time I will come across AAO and I don’t even know what to expect from this brand. Therefore, if you are considering buying a new compact and inexpensive projector, then you should definitely read my full and detailed review below.
If we talk about cost, the new version of the AAO YG430 projector will cost the future user only $150 for the basic version. But if you need features such as Wi-Fi and multi-screen support, then this version will need to pay about $170.
Of the technical specs, I can single out – this is the native Full HD resolution with 5000 lumens of brightness level. At the same time, the contrast level ranged from 5000: 1 to 8000: 1. In addition, I liked the compact size of the design and other features in appearance.
Therefore, I will try to disclose all the questions about the new LED projector model. For example, in this review I will share with you about the quality of the projection screen, its color reproduction, brightness and other features. Thus, I suggest starting your in-depth testing with unboxing and appearance.

Unboxing and packaging
The new model of the AAO YG430 projector comes in a rather bright blue box. Also on its sides you can see a drawing of a device with the name of the projector.
The box itself was typical, as on most other devices in this price range. Therefore, let’s unpack all the contents and check the quality of execution.
Inside the package, I managed to find this, directly, the projector itself. In addition, the projector and other accessories have been packed in protective foam. Thus, the device itself came to me without a single deformation.
In addition to the projector, I discovered – this is a remote control, a power cable, an audio video cable and instructions. I did not find any other accessories.
For example, here I would like to see an HDMI cable and a carrying case. But unfortunately, I did not find the last elements of accessories in the package. Although this did not disappoint me much, as I always remembered that the price tag for this projector model was very tempting around $150.
Design, build quality and materials
First of all, let’s talk about the most important feature of the new AAO YG430 projector model – its dimensions and weight. Since when choosing a compact projector, it is worth paying attention to these parameters, including. In the case of my hero today, the dimensions of the device were such indicators as 240 x 181 x 91 mm, and its weight did not exceed 1.75 kg.
Therefore, it is not difficult to carry the AAO projector in any case. Also, this projector model can be easily transported in terms of educational or business purposes.
In terms of appearance, but the shape of the device is typical, like most other projectors. The AAO YG430 has a rectangular design with some interesting elements, but let’s talk about them in a couple of sentences.
The new model of the projector is delivered in exclusively one color – this is white. But it is easy to see that the projector was not completely white, and also had black decorative inserts. At the same time, the plastic was made of a matte material and therefore I had no strong comments on its manufacture. Other than that, I liked the build quality. Since all the components were perfectly connected to each other, I did not reveal any extraneous noise.
On the front of the body of the AAO YG430 projector, there was an LED lens and next to it there was an infrared scanner for the control panel.
If you look at the right end, you can see ventilation holes through which hot air will escape. It is also worth recalling that these holes should not be covered with unnecessary items or installed close to the wall. Otherwise, the device may fail earlier due to overheating not only of the lens, but also of the matrix, including.
All external connections were located on the back of the projector. For example, here I found – this is an additional infrared sensor, AV audio output and headphone input, one HDMI and two USB ports. There was also one ring for adjusting the angle of inclination of the projection image.
In addition, on the same surface, there was a port for the power cable, one speaker and there were openings for cold air inlets. I can also highlight that the holes for cold air received a filter, which must be periodically cleaned.
If you look at the left end of the device, then the projector here had a twist to adjust the focal length. This is a very unusual decision on the part of the manufacturer. But this solution will definitely be more convenient and comfortable than the usual ring for adjusting the focal length.
Okay, but on the top of the body of the AAO YG430 projector, buttons were installed to operate the user interface. In addition, there was another knob for adjusting the volume level. Also, this twist was used to turn the device on or off.
Meanwhile, there were four anti-slip feet and a 6mm hole for a tripod or other wall or ceiling mount on the bottom of the projector body. Here you could also find an adjusting foot for the correct angle of inclination.
As for the control panel, it received the minimum number of buttons. For example, these are power-on, volume control, menu controls, okay, sources, menus, and backward. The remote control is powered by two AAA batteries and I did not have any special control problems. That is, the signal was transmitted accurately and at any angle.
Menus, Settings and Projection Image Quality
First, I want to figure out the maximum and minimum screen size that the AAO YG430 projector can achieve. The minimum distance from the projection screen or wall was 1.3 meters and the screen size was about 42 inches. But the maximum value was 5 meters and the screen size was 175 inches. In my case, I set the projector at a distance of 2.8 meters and got a 100-inch projection image size.
Immediately, I note that I have an advanced version with Wi-Fi support. That is, I can broadcast wirelessly and wired through a mobile device or even a PC.
The main menu of the user interface is very typical, as is the case with most projectors in this price range. Here I found four cells – films, pictures, music and text. Also, the manufacturer AAO has installed other sections, such as signal sources. In this section, you will be able to see cells such as Multiscreen, HDMI and USB.
If you look at the Multiscreen section, it has a lot of interesting features. For example, these are Windows Cast, Miracast, iOS Cast, iOS Cable Cast, and settings. In the settings themselves, you will be able to connect to a wireless Wi-Fi connection. I have an Android smartphone, so Miracast worked without any problems. But I will note that there was a slight delay.
There is a standard list of features in the general settings. These include scaling the projection image, mirroring or vertical display, color rendering, language selection, updating, restoration and many other features.
Okay, now I propose to talk about the quality of the projected image and its features. As I said at the beginning of the review, the new model of the AAO YG430 projector received a native Full HD resolution. It’s very surprising that even budget projectors are now native 1080p. Therefore, I had no particular problems with the detailing of the projection image.
If we talk about color reproduction, then the device shows very good colors. For example, when watching movies or TV shows at night, the colors were very saturated and conveyed a realistic hue. Thus, I also did not reveal any problems with the transfer of colors.
Okay, you can ask me, what about the brightness of the LED matrix? I want to please you, as the brightness even for a presentation will be enough when the light is on. This means that even with 5000 lumens the brightness is good on a projection screen.
But this does not mean that using the projector will be comfortable for watching movies with dark scenes. Therefore, for movies, it is best to use the device in the dark. But a white image with black text, like any presentation, will be visible without any problems even with the color turned on.
That being said, I cannot say that the AAO YG430 device produced any blur on the projection screen. The picture was sharp and the sharpness was good when watching movies or YouTube videos.
Another positive feature is the image lag, which was only 26ms. This is a good indicator if you plan on playing games. In addition, the device received a 60 Hz refresh rate. Therefore, gamers will definitely like this projector, since in games the transmitted image was smooth and did not have gaps in frames.
Okay, now I propose to talk about the sound quality and the noise emitted from the projector itself. Since only one 3W speaker is used on board, you might think that the sound of the projector will not sound very good. But, as practice has shown itself, the sound quality was very good. Yes, I cannot call it ideal, but even at 100% volume level, the speaker did not emit squeaks or other annoying sounds.
As for the emitted noise from the projector, near the device, the noise was about 54 dB, but at a distance of 1 meter, the noise was about 37 dB. It’s actually not the noisiest projector I’ve tested. I have noticed lately that there are fewer noisy projectors in use and the latest models have a fairly quiet sibilant sound.
Conclusion, reviews, pros and cons
The new model of the AAO YG430 projector, which I tested for the first time from this brand, showed itself from a very positive side.
Of the advantages, I liked the presence of a bright projection picture, good detail values and the transmitted color gamut of the image. In general, the presence of Full HD resolution shows good picture saturation and watching movies in the dark will only convey one pleasure.
If we talk about the quality of the workmanship and the materials used, then I did not reveal any special complaints during my testing. I also liked some design elements such as the volume knob and the focal length knob.
On the downside, I can mention that the Bluetooth connection does not work very well. But I think that the manufacturer AAO will fix this problem and in the future this model will be completely perfect in all respects.
Price and where to buy cheaper?
From my conclusion, I think you understand that I can recommend a new projector model from AAO for purchase without any hesitation.
As for the price, you can currently buy the AAO YG430 projector at a rather tempting and low price for only $148.49 for the basic version. But the advanced version will cost you $168.28.
