New intergenerational shock in the Android community! While the long-awaited OnePlus 5 does not surface to directly rival the most comprehensive handsets in the market, 3T is poised to prove it is still worthy of the title of “killer of flagships” in full in 2017.
In response to the Chinese mobile, the powerful Xperia XZ Premium arrives to defend the Sony home, powered by the Snapdragon 835 with eight Kryo 280 cores running at up to 2.45 GHz.
Firstly, it is worth mentioning that the OnePlus 3T is powered by the quad-core Snapdragon 821, working with 6GB of RAM and an Adreno 530 as a graphics card.
In response, the current Xperia XZ Premium comprises 4GB of RAM and an Adreno 540 GPU, in favor of a 5.5-inch screen with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. Check out the video of the new Oriental clash with the two smartphones side by side running several heavy applications.
Already on startup, the OnePlus 3T showed its supremacy against the rival, with about 5 seconds off until the Xperia XZ Premium reaches the system interface.
With both fully up and running, handsets running Android Nougat show usability with relative fluidity, without crashes in native applications or in to-do switching.
Anyway, Xperia XZ Premium highlights the power of Snapdragon 835, managing to run several applications in the background without any problems. This same premise is also valid for gaming, with Sony’s phone booting some of the heaviest games in the generation – such as Temple Run 2 and Modern Combat 5 – in a matter of seconds.
The test in AnTuTu shows the 3T with 162,678 points, while the XZ Premium reached 178,799.
Keep in mind that these brief tests do not serve to point to a definitive winner, as obviously would be unfair in the end, but rather assist our readers with these archetypes in videos that facilitate in choosing a good phone in this increasingly saturated market.
Both devices are incredible smartphones, but taking into consideration only the price of the Xperia XZ Premium, the 3T undoubtedly is still a good alternative for the followers of import, balancing an affordable value and respectable specifications.
