Just the other day I received a very interesting package from Xiaomi. In which I discovered a new model of a mid-budget device called Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro.
I note right away that I did not buy this smartphone, but they sent it to me for a test. Therefore, this instance is most likely a test one, and perhaps I will see many flaws during use. But if this is so, let’s find out in my detailed and complete review below.
In addition to this model, the manufacturer Xiaomi has also presented many other different models of smartphones, and I can refer to them as the younger version of Redmi Note 10, Redmi AirDots 3, and other devices.
As for the cost, they are currently asking about $ 290 for a model with a Pro prefix. This is a rather high price and you should not rush to buy a smartphone. But from March 8, the auction offers will take place, and you can purchase and order a smartphone for only $ 225.
For a relatively low cost, you will get a smartphone that is definitely worth your attention, and let’s go through the main features. The first thing that makes the device stand out is the large 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD and 120Hz refresh rate. Also, the device uses a similar processor as on the Poco X3 smartphone – Snapdragon 732G.
Other features include a 108MP sensor, the latest generation of Android 11, a large 5030mAh battery with 33W fast charging. Naturally on board, there is stereo sound and protection from splashes and dust under the IP53 standard.
Based on the above features, I can conclude that Redmi Note 10 Pro is an improved version of Poco X3 in some features. So, let’s find out if it’s worth buying the new Redmi model if you already own the Poco X3?

Unboxing and packaging
The standard box of the new model of the Redmi Note 10 Pro smartphone came to my review, both in size and in weight. The packaging is made of white and durable cardboard and on the front, there is a drawing of the smartphone itself with the model name.
On the side of the package, you can find a sticker with information about the product and company, as well as the version of the memory modification. As you can see, I have a version with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory. You can also order a version with 6 and 64 GB or 8 and 256 GB of memory.
Inside the package, the first thing that met me was a small box containing a protective matte silicone case, documentation, and a needle for a SIM tray. Then I found the device itself in a shipping film and with basic specs.
Lastly, the package includes a Type-C charging cable and a 33W charging adapter. Okay, now let’s take a closer look at the device itself and find out what it is assembled from and how high quality it is.
Design, build quality and materials
In terms of the materials used, I was a little surprised that the company used protective glass, both on the front of the device and on the back. But it’s worth noting that the frames of the Redmi Note 10 Pro are made of plastic. Although, this is expected from a mid-budget device.
The manufacturer offers three colors to choose from – gray, bronze, and blue. Each color option is very interesting, as it has its own uniqueness. I have a gray color on my test and it looks more premium and stricter than the rest of the options. Here I can also note that fingerprints remain very easily on the back of the device since it is glossy glass.
As for the quality of performance, I have no comments. The device from Xiaomi is well done and without strong claims. In addition, the Redmi Note 10 Pro has IP53 dust and splash protection. But you cannot wet or immerse your smartphone in water.
As for the dimensions and weight, the new model of the device received dimensions of 164 x 76.5 x 8.1 mm, and the weight was about 193 grams. If we compare these indicators with competitors, then the Poco X3 model has 165.3 x 76.8 x 10.1 mm and a weight of 225 grams, while the younger brother Redmi Note 9 Pro has 165.8 x 76.7 x 8.8 mm and 209 grams. Therefore, relative to its counterparts, the new device from the Redmi brand has become a little smaller, both in size and weight.
Well, as for the rear panel, it houses the main camera with four modules. Where the 108MP main sensor is very easy to spot, as it is the largest in size. The design of the main camera is quite interesting and looks nice.
Even some might think that you have a real flagship and not a mid-range device. But here there is a small drawback – the main camera bulges out quite significantly. I don’t think you would use a smartphone without a silicone case though.
The right side of the smartphone Redmi Note 10 Pro received a power button with a built-in fingerprint scanner and a volume rocker. In addition, the fingerprint scanner itself works quickly and accurately, I had no problems using it. Meanwhile, on the left side, there is a slot for dual nano-SIM cards and a separate slot for a MicroSD memory card.
The bottom end of the device has a main speaker, a Type-C port, and a microphone hole. But on the top, a 3.5 mm audio jack, an additional speaker, a microphone hole, and even an infrared sensor were installed. At the same time, the sound quality was with a good volume margin and there was even a little bass.
In general, I liked the look and how well the device is assembled. In addition, I was glad to see the glass case, as in the mid-budget class of the device. Ok, now let’s take a look at the quality of the screen and its main features.
Screen and image quality
The front of the smartphone Redmi Note 10 Pro received a large 20: 9 screen with a size of 6.67 inches. Along the way, the manufacturer likes the 6.67-inch size, as it is used in almost every smartphone in the line of devices from Redmi or Xiaomi.
In terms of resolution, the smartphone uses Full HD or 1080 x 2400 pixels. Considering its screen size and resolution, the pixel density per inch was approximately 395 PPI.
The most important feature in terms of screen quality was the presence of an AMOLED matrix. As for its class, it is difficult to find a smartphone with a price tag of $230 using an AMOLED screen. Therefore, the Redmi Note 10 Pro model has very bright and saturated colors, while the black color is very contrasting.
In addition, the manufacturer Redmi used a 120Hz screen refresh rate and HDR10 technology in the Note 10 Pro model. Also, the maximum value of the brightness level was 1200 nits, and this figure is several times higher than its predecessor Note 9 Pro.
In addition, I liked that with each new generation, including the new model, the frames around the screen are getting smaller and smaller. But again, they are not so small when compared with flagship models, for example, Mi 11. On top of the screen, there is also a round cutout for a selfie camera and the manufacturer calls this solution simply Dot-Display.
In the screen settings, it is possible to find a standard list of features. For example, you can adjust not only the brightness value of the screen, but also select the desired hue, color, and more. Also in the settings, you can hide the round notch of the front camera, but after that, you will have a large black bar on top of the screen. Naturally, in the settings, you can find the Alway-On Display function.
Performance, benchmarks, games, and user interface
The already proven Snapdragon 732G processor is used onboard the new Redmi Note 10 Pro. I already mentioned that this chipset has already been used on the Poco X3 model and I already have an idea of its performance.
Okay, let’s tell you a little about what this processor is. This is an eight-core chipset with two Kryo 470 Gold cores clocked at 2.3 GHz and six Kryo 470 Silver cores at 1.8 GHz.
The Snapdragon 732G processor is built on 8-nanometer technology and shows good results in benchmark tests. For example, in the AnTuTu test, the device scored about 290 thousand points and this is a good result for its price. I will also leave the album below with other benchmarks of the new Note 10 Pro smartphone.
In terms of gaming ability, the smartphone runs on the Adreno 618 graphics accelerator. I was able to run quite demanding games like Genshin Impact. Where the FPS value was in the range of 35-40 frames per second. In PUBG Mobile, I could only play at medium graphics settings and the FPS was stable at 40 frames per second.
I also launched the game Dead Trigger 2 and here I managed to achieve a result of 114 FPS. It’s incredible that even on a mid-budget smartphone, you can play games very smoothly, almost like on a gaming device. In addition, after the games, I did not notice a strong overheating and the device warmed up to the operating temperature of the processor about 60 degrees.
As I said, I have a version with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. You also have the option of expanding your memory thanks to a separate microSD slot up to 512GB.
On the wireless side, the Redmi Note 10 Pro isn’t all that bad. For example, the device uses a dual-band Wi-Fi module, Bluetooth 5.1 version, fast operation of the GPS module. The most important feature in a smartphone is the presence of an NFC module for contactless payment of your purchases.
The last thing I want to share with you in this section is my emotions from the user interface. The Redmi Note 10 Pro device runs under the new Android 11 operating system with MIUI 12 custom interface.
The interface works quite quickly and opens any applications or tasks fast. During my use, I did not find strong freezes and delays, every operation was fast.
I can refer to new features – these are separate application windows. For example, you can avoid minimizing applications, but use a smaller application window on any part of the screen. This principle works with a similar method as on Window 10 OS. Other features remain the same, such as the choice of a black theme, various widgets, and more.
Camera and sample photos
The back of the Redmi Note 10 Pro smartphone received four camera modules. The main sensor really surprised me, since it is impossible to find a 108-megapixel sensor even in the mid-budget segment. At the same time, I really liked the quality of the photos, you can find examples of images in the album below.
The second camera module received an 8-megapixel sensor with an aperture of f/2.2 and a viewing angle of 118 degrees. This sensor was designed for ultra-wide mode. The third sensor has a 5-megapixel camera for Tele macro mode. And the last sensor received a 2-megapixel resolution and is intended for portrait mode.
On the front, there is a selfie camera with a 16-megapixel resolution and an aperture of f/2.5. I also leave the quality of the photos in the album below.
In the application settings, you can find a large number of different shooting modes, from automatic shooting to manual settings. There is also an interesting feature of simultaneous video recording, both on the front and on the main camera. As for video shooting, the main camera shoots at 4K and 30 frames per second, and the front camera is 1080p and also 30 frames per second.
Battery and run time
The capacity of the built-in battery on the new Redmi Note 10 Pro remains completely identical to its predecessor, Redmi Note 9 Pro. This is a 5020 mAh battery and as I noticed the battery life has increased slightly compared to its older brother.
During my active use, the device was discharged in about 1.5 days. But at the same time, I did various benchmark tests, played heavy games, and did various camera tests. Therefore, if you use your smartphone in normal mode, then it can easily work for two working days without recharging.
The time to fully charge through the 33W power adapter was about 1 hour and 10 minutes. It should be noted that in half an hour the device was charged by 55% and this is a very good result.
Conclusion, reviews, pros, and cons
After full testing and review of the new smartphone model Redmi Note 10 Pro, I was left under very positive emotions. This is a new ideal smartphone that not only has an excellent and modern design, but also good performance and a decent camera.
Okay, let me tell you about the main advantages of the new smartphone from the Redmi brand. The first thing I liked was the materials used and the build quality. Further, I cannot pass by a very high-quality AMOLED screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate.
In terms of performance, the Snapdragon 732G processor not only shows good results in benchmark tests but also in everyday life, for example in games. Another positive point I can highlight is a high-quality camera with a resolution of 108 megapixels.
Also, I will attribute to the disadvantages – this is a rather bulging module of the main camera and a soiled case on the back of the device. I cannot single out any other strong drawbacks, since the cost of the model covers any drawbacks.
Price and where to buy cheaper?
I can definitely recommend a new model of a mid-budget smartphone for purchase, as it received very good specifications at a relatively low cost.
You can currently get the Redmi Note 10 Pro at an attractive price for just $224.99 with a good discount. But the price won’t be that long, as this is a pre-sale starting March 8th and ending March 10th.
