During the last summer sale of this year, I was able to order a new model of wireless earbuds from QCY. And so today I have another novelty on the review called QCY HT03. But will it be as good as the manufacturer assures us? Let’s find out all the details in this full review.
In addition, in this article I will tell you about my emotions from the sound quality of sound and microphone. I will also share with you the main disadvantages and advantages, and of course I will tell you my verdict regarding this device model.
As for the price tag, the current price for QCY HT03 products has remained the same as during the sale. Good or bad, you probably judge. But now you can buy the new generation earbuds from the QCY company for only up to $40.
I can no longer call the new model of earbuds ultra budgetary, since the cost no longer lies in the range of $15-20. Do you remember how the QCY company produced its products with just such a price range?
From the technical point of view, the HT03 earbuds received a 10 mm dynamic driver in each channel of the earbud. Also, the device has a wireless connection Bluetooth 5.1 version. In addition, TWS earbuds received such features as active noise canceling mode and transparency mode.
That is, at first glance, QCY earbuds look very good, given their cost and features. Therefore, let me begin my full review with the appearance and equipment, in order to find out if everything is so good from a practical point of view.

Unboxing and packaging
The price tag has almost doubled in the new generation of QCY HT03 earbuds when compared with previous models. But the quality of the packaging remained very budgetary, even for its price of $40.
I received a small package, where a picture of the earbuds and a charging box with the designation of the model name was displayed on the front. There was also a wealth of useful information about features and specifications throughout the packaging.
In the meantime, I found the following components inside the package. This is a charging box and earbuds, which were located separately from each other. Also, here I found a Type-C charging cable, instructions for use and a set of silicone ear tips. In addition, if anyone is interested, it could not do without a foreign smell of glue. Okay, now let’s take a closer look at the earbuds themselves and talk about its performance quality.
Design, build quality and materials
The new generation of TWS earbuds QCY HT03 was only available in one color option, as you can see it in black. There were no other color options available, so this disappointed me a little. Also, I didn’t like this black color as it had sparkles. They are especially noticeable in the sun, so I don’t think the male sex will obviously like them.
If we talk about the build quality, then I did not reveal any special complaints during my testing. All components were well connected and I did not detect any extraneous squeak or sound. But here there is not even the most basic protection against water and splashes. Therefore, I do not recommend using this model in sports, as well as when wearing it in the rain or wet environment.
Another disadvantage I can highlight is the use of glossy plastic. It really is not the most favorable during my testing. Since there were a large number of fingerprints on it and even there were slight abrasions after several days of active use of the device.
The fit is not all that terrible here, because the QCY HT03 earbuds weighed only 5 grams and did not really give my ears much discomfort. Just as I have already mentioned, it will be problematic to do sports in them due to the lack of any protection from water. Therefore, this earbud model will be useful for everyday use.
However, do not forget that these are in-ear earbuds and they have silicone ear tips. This means that after 2-3 hours of wearing, your ears will require a little rest from you.
The QCY HT03 earbuds themselves received quite large sizes, but the ergonomics were in place. For example, the outside of the device has a touchscreen control panel with an LED indicator. Also, each earphone uses two microphones, where one is needed for talking on the phone, and the other or the noise canceling function during the same phone conversations. I will talk about the quality of the microphone a little later.
As for the charging case, it was also made of glossy black plastic. This is not the best material in its performance, since fingerprints and other troubles could be observed on it. On the outside of the case, namely on the front of the case, there was one LED indicator. It was he who informed us about the battery charge level.
At the same time, on the back of the case, there is a button for pairing or resetting settings. But at the bottom of the box, there is a Type-C charging connector. In general, if we talk about the build quality, then I had no particular complaints about boxing. But the lid has a little backlash, although I cannot call it a strong drawback. Since even more expensive TWS earbuds have a similar gap in the charging box lid. It is also worth noting that the weight of the case was only 32 grams, and its dimensions were 59 x 54 x 26 mm.
Connection, latency and touch control
The QCY HT03 wireless connection was based on Bluetooth 5.1. Also on board the device has support for audio codecs AAC and SBC. At the same time, in practice, I did not find any special failures in communication, even at a large distance of up to 10 meters. The earbuds are connected in the most usual way, and the subsequent connection will be carried out automatically.
Also, the manufacturer offers to install its own proprietary application, which is called QCY. It is available for both Android and iOS devices. The main menu remains typical and the user interface has not received much changes. Here you can monitor the charge level of the earbuds, but not the charging case. The app also offers equalizer settings and touch gesture control adjustments.
As for the delay, I did not reveal any special complaints. The game mode in QCY earbuds was introduced and therefore it was very comfortable to play games. But I also cannot call the earbuds completely gaming, since, although small, there was a delay. When watching video clips, I did not reveal any special complaints in terms of the delay.
The touch control got more than adequate work and I did not reveal any special complaints about its work.
- Double-tapping calls play, pause, accept or end a phone call.
- Triple tap on the right earbud switches the track forward, and on the left one calls the voice assistant function.
- Holding 1.5 seconds on the touchpad on the left channel switches from normal to game mode.
- In this case, holding for 1.5 seconds on the right channel switches the operating modes from normal mode to ANC or ENC.
Sound and microphone quality
Each of the QCY HT03 earbuds uses a 10mm dynamic driver. Considering that these are in-ear earbuds with good passive sound insulation, the volume reserve will be enough for everyday use.
At the same time, the low frequencies were well expressed and had a good bass sound in their performance. But if you listen to music over 70% of the volume level, then porridge appears and all frequencies will mix with each other.
In addition, at a high volume level, the HT03 earbuds did not have very high detail and clarity. But if you listen to music below 70%, then the detail was more or less good. Therefore, I cannot call the sound quality, given its cost.
The same goes for active noise canceling and transparency modes. Both modes did not work very well when compared to flagship devices. For example, the ANC function worked as if very thick ear tips were being used. And it is better to use the transparency mode not when it is activated, but simply remove one of the earbuds from the ear canal.
But the quality of the microphones was not so bad here. For example, even in noisy places, the microphones worked out clearly and my interlocutors understood everything and without explanation what I told them. In a quiet place, the work of the microphones did not cause any particular complaints from me.
Battery and run time
The manufacturer decided not to disclose the battery capacity in the earbuds to the future user, but the battery capacity of the charging case was 380 mAh.
In practice, the QCY HT03 earbuds played a full 5 hours at 100% volume and without ANC. If you use the ANC function, the battery life will be reduced to 4 hours. Through the charging case, the earbuds can be recharged 3 times and the total battery life will be about 20 hours.
At the same time, a full charge of the earbuds was 50 minutes, and after 10 minutes of charging, the earbuds received about 20%. But the charging case was charged in 1.5 hours via the Type-C connection. There was no wireless charging on board the case.
Conclusion, reviews, pros and cons
The new generation of QCY HT03 wireless earbuds turned out to be not quite what it could be. Since they have a number of significant disadvantages, let’s talk about the advantages of the device first.
First of all, I liked the quality of the signal transmission thanks to the Bluetooth 5.1 version and the good functionality of the touch control. I also liked the fit in the ear canal, but after 2-3 hours of wearing, the ears were a little tired.
In addition, battery life and microphone performance were very positive during my full testing.
On the downside I can mention – it is a glossy and rather easily soiled plastic in its performance. Also, I did not like how ANC and ENC functions work, so their presence is not particularly clear to me. In addition, the sound itself also received not the most positive impressions, given its cost.
Price and where to buy cheaper?
Since the price of the new generation of QCY HT03 earbuds has become almost twice as high as its predecessors, the functionality has remained almost the same. I cannot recommend this model of earbuds for purchase.
But if the price is lower than $39.90, as now, the manufacturer says, then perhaps the earbuds can be considered for purchase. In the meantime, I can leave a list of competitors who will have fewer flaws for this price.
