VOYO VBOOK I7 Plus: Design and Appearance

Compared to the VOYO I7 (18.0 millimeters), the test device has become a little flatter and now only 9.7 millimeters thickness. Instead of 1900 grams like its predecessor, our review sample weighs 900 grams. With the Type Cover docked, the scale displays 1,091 grams.

Although VOYO likes to emphasize weight optimization, it really does not really matter in the truest sense of the word.

With attached Type Cover shrinks the difference in weight to VOYO I7 with the keyboard to ten grams.

There are no surprises in the design – that’s good. For both the choice of materials and the general processing we already liked the VOYO I7 extremely well.

Therefore, it is hardly surprising that we also discover no conspicuous gap dimensions or other complaints with the VOYO VBOOK I7 Plus in the analisis.

VOYO VBOOK I7 Plus: Display

With the same basic dimensions, VOYO was able to decrease the pure display area from 15.6 to 12.6 inches.

This results in a slightly higher resolution of 2880 x 1920 pixels (VBOOK I7: 1920 x 1080 pixels).

The display quality of the touchscreen is still good. Individual pixels are barely detectable with the naked eye.

The viewing angles are generous, but we notice a slight contrast drop at sharp angles both vertically and horizontally.

We did not notice that with the predecessor. In any case, the VOYO VBOOK I7 Plus in the test has inherited the reflective display surface.

The principally high maximum brightness often fails to outshine these reflections, especially in the open air.

VOYO VBOOK I7 Plus: Hardware and Performance

Our review unit is equipped with an Intel Core i7-7500U with a clock frequency of up to 3.5GHz.

Together with 8 GB of RAM and the fast SSD, this results in a consistently high workload at the notebook level.

Apps open quickly through the bank and even opening a large Excel spreadsheet does not bring the test surface to its knees.

The subjective good impression of speed underpins the benchmark results. Cinebench R15 attests to the configuration of 36.19 image repetitions in the OpenGL test.

VOYO VBOOK I7 Plus Review: 2-in-1 Tablet with Intel i7 Chipset 2018

After completing the CPU test, there was an average of 296CB points. Average values from notebook point of view and very good values for a tablet PC.

VOYO VBOOK I7 Plus: Keyboard

If you’re thinking of buying a VBOOK model, you probably already have the type cover on the slip. That was no different from the predecessor models.

And even with the VOYO VBOOK I7 Plus in the review, the physical keyboard, which magnetically docks at the bottom and also serves as a screen protector when closed, costs a surcharge.

Owners of a VOYO I7, who are still satisfied with the performance of their tablet-notebook hybrid, may well consider purchasing the new Type Covers.

Because VOYO has improved it in the right places. The individual keys are now mounted at a clear distance from each other on the keyboard.

The pressure point and stroke of the keys are now comparable to those of a classic laptop, so there’s no need to get used to it.

All buttons can be illuminated in several stages, which makes working in the dark easier. The stop is very soft and therefore quiet.

Not so nice: The keyboard is not quite on the desk. As a result, the keyboard, especially in the upper rows, slightly curls when typing.

The new Type Cover again has the possibility to bring it by the magnet in a slightly angled position.

But then, as with the VOYO I7, the keyboard becomes a tambourine – with a raspy sound, every little bit more pressure is added.

Improved the trackpad. It’s a bit bigger now and for the first time, we have the feeling that we are dealing with a true mouse replacement.

VOYO VBOOK I7 Plus: Stylus Pen

The stylus “Pen” sticks amazingly strong on the left or right side of the case of the VOYO VBOOK I7 Plus in the analisis.

It helps a design trick that VOYO had the previous model so not in stock: One side of the stylus, in which a button Hidden, VOYO suggests. This increases the contact surface.

Nevertheless, we are sure that the search for the stylus with VBOOK users has still not come to an end.

By the way, Apple’s competition does not have a better solution in stock. On the device: the pen of the iPad Pro sticks neither magnetically nor in any other way on the Apple tablet.

A pressure on the back of the pen opens as usual Microsoft OneNote. This works even when the tablet is locked.

That’s how nightly flashes of inspiration can be captured perfectly. If you press the upper button longer, the search assistant Cortana opens.

VOYO VBOOK I7 Plus: Connections

On the left side, VOYO is installing a standard sized two USB 3.0 ports, Micro HDMI, Type-C and TF card slot.

On the upper side, we come across the power button and the volume rocker, which can shine with the exact pressure point.

Below there is still the proprietary port for the type cover. Hidden is still the SD card slot.

VOYO VBOOK I7 Plus: Battery

The battery life of VOYO VBOOK I7 Plus in the test has not changed much compared to the previous generation and it has 10200mAh.

On average, the lights went out after about six to seven hours. (Mix of surfing, composing emails, video playback).

Fortunately, the power supply is pleasantly compact. Nice gimmick: You can charge your smartphone via the USB port of the power supply at the same time.

VOYO VBOOK I7 Plus: Conclusions and Reviews

VOYO has improved the VOYO VBOOK I7 Plus in our review in the right places compared to its predecessor. But it is still more tablet than notebook.

The possibilities of the pen VOYO still does not use. Nevertheless, the VBOOK I7 Plus bottom line is currently the most consistent Windows 10 tablet.

VOYO VBOOK I7 Plus: Price and Where to buy cheaper?

At the moment, the price for VOYO VBOOK I7 Plus is very good and interesting, and you can buy it now for $699.99. The new 2-in-1 device has both its pluses and minuses, but it’s still a good portable device with good performance Intel Core i7-7500U as for 2018.
