At a rapid pace, UMIDIGI is trying to attract its attention with its mid-range smartphones. Each year, new models are not only more productive but also have a stylish and modern appearance. Today we will talk about a new budget model called UMIDIGI Power 3.
Earlier I tested a large number of different devices from the UMIDIGI brand, if you have an interest, you can follow the link here.
I can’t call the smartphone very expensive since the price of UMIDIGI Power 3 is about $150. If you look at the specs, then they exactly match their price and even more.
For example, the new Power 3 model boasts a large 6.53-inch bezel-less screen with a hole punch in the upper right corner for a selfie camera. In addition, there is an Helio P60 processor, Android 10, a 48-megapixel camera, a 6150 mAh battery and an NFC chip for contactless payment.
Regular readers already taste like I usually start the test, so we will not change the traditions and begin by unpacking.

UMIDIGI Power 3: Unboxing
The new UMIDIGI Power 3 smartphone is the seventh device that I tested from the Chinese company UMIDIGI. I have already repeatedly mentioned that the appearance of the box of all models, starting from the price tag of $70 to $250, have an identical design. Power 3 is no exception.
This is a typical black box, which does not have any drawings, and on the front side is written only the name of the company – UMIDIGI. The difference of all models can be seen only on the back of the box, where a sticker with the model name and technical specs is glued.
Inside the box was a well-packed smartphone that was wearing a protective silicone case. In addition, the smartphone itself has stickers on the front with the main features. As usual, the protective case is made soundly and UMIDIGI is the only company that offers a quality case in the kit.
Below was an envelope with instructions, a SIM needle, an 18W power adapter, a Type-C format charging cable and another Type-C to Type-C adapter. The latter is needed to recharge other devices from Power 3. Although I can’t say that the battery capacity is phenomenal.
UMIDIGI Power 3: Design
On the front of the smartphone is a rather large screen with dimensions of 6.53 inches Full HD resolution or 1080 x 2340 pixels. The screen received a fully frameless design with very small frames. The hole punch of the front camera immediately highlights the screen and says that the smartphone is a new 2020 release.
The aspect ratio of the screen is 19.5: 9 and the pixel density per inch are about 394 ppi. From various viewing angles, the screen quality remains as sharp and vibrant. The color reproduction is typical for IPS screens in this price category.
The response quality of the touch panel is at a high level. The multi-touch only supports 5 touches. The screen brightness is good and even in sunny weather, you can use your smartphone without any problems.
At the top of the screen, there is a conversational speaker that works perfectly and loudly.
The backside of the UMIDIGI Power 3 device is made of soft-touch plastic, which is really very pleasant to the touch. Recently, this material is rarely used in smartphones, but I have nothing against plastic. In some aspects, plastic is much more reliable than glass. For example, if it falls onto a hard surface, the glass will break, and plastic can get scratches and no more. It is worth noting that plastic does not leave fingerprints at all.
Another element that highlights the smartphone is a module of four cameras on the rear panel. It got a rectangular black islet and has strong similarities in the Galaxy model. In addition to the camera modules themselves, there is a dual-LED flash and a fingerprint scanner in the center. Directly, the sensor is fast and finger recognition accurate.
The bottom end of the smartphone has a Type-C port, 3.5 mm audio jack, microphone and speaker. At the top there is nothing.
The rocker and power rocker control keys in a typical place and work responsively.
The triple slot for dual SIM cards and a memory card made me very happy. Recently, a hybrid slot has been used, but not in the case of UMIDIGI Power 3.
It is difficult to call a small-sized device since it has a rather large battery capacity. Dimensions are 162.1 x 77.2 x 10.3 mm and weighs 218 grams. It is difficult to use with one hand, but due to the large screen size, the phone has the advantage of watching movies or playing games.
UMIDIGI Power 3: Performance and Software
Naturally, UMIDIGI is not inferior to its principles and works in conjunction with the MediaTek processor. Onboard Power 3, a pretty good Helio P60 chipset is installed. It contains eight cores, where four of them are 2.0 GHz Cortex-A7 and the other four Cortex-A53 with a similar frequency of 2.0 GHz.
From memory, the device has a sufficient amount of RAM – 4 GB of LPDDR4x format and 64 GB of internal memory. The bonus is a separate slot for a memory card up to 256 GB. The speed of the memory is fast, which affects the speed of the software.
The heavy games, such as PUBG Mobile, Asphalt 9, the start-up quickly and smoothly thanks to the ARM Mali G72 MP3 graphic chip with a clock speed of 800 MHz. But, the graphics settings will be only average. Overheating, even after half an hour of playing, I did not find it.
You can see the benchmark test results below. Of course, given its price of up to $150, the smartphone has good performance in tests.
This is the third smartphone from UMIDIGI, which received the latest version of the Android 10 software. After spending several days with the smartphone, I was left with positive impressions.
Applications launch quickly and smoothly. Also, the user interface is smart and, most importantly, clean. No third-party programs installed, except for standard Google applications. Also, to whom it is interesting, FM radio is present.
The software is global and received all communication networks. During testing, 4G worked without problems, there were no disconnections and the signal was stable.
Another reason to buy a UMIDIGI Power 3 smartphone is the presence of NFC. My Google Pay accepted my card without any problems and payment at the terminal was quick.
The GPS signal quality is stable and even in the apartment, 23 satellites were found with an accuracy of 3-4 meters.
UMIDIGI Power 3: Camera
Even for a budget employee up to $150, the smartphone takes pretty good pictures, especially in a good light. At night, there is little noise, but the quality is not lit by streetlights.
The main camera received a 48-megapixel module with an f/1.79 aperture and a second 13-megapixel module for ultra-wide shots at 120 degrees. The third and fourth modules have a 5-megapixel resolution for blurring the background or bokeh mode and for macro photography.
The front camera has a 16-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture.
The video is recorded with a resolution of 1080p, but the cameras do not have stabilization, so it’s difficult to call it smooth and stable.
Below I will leave an album of photos in various modes and you can see and compare the quality for yourself.
UMIDIGI Power 3: Battery
In the name of the Power model, it says that the device is not in terms of performance, but in terms of battery life. Since UMIDIGI Power 3 is equipped with a 6150 mAh battery. The fast charging is also present at 18 watts and there is reverse charging at 10 watts through the Type-C adapter that comes with the kit.
The battery life depends on the degree of load, but 2 days of work will definitely provide even if you load Power 3 periodically. For example, at a 50% brightness level, watching videos on YouTube, the phone is discharged by 5%. The result is very good.
The charging time from 0 to 100% will take you about 2.5 hours.
UMIDIGI Power 3: Conclusion and Reviews
Although the smartphone UMIDIGI Power 3 has not premium materials to use, the build quality is at a high level. As for the price, it turned out to be very competitive in the mobile device market.
After a week of testing the smartphone, I was left with good impressions, but could not do without minor minuses. For example, a smartphone is quite large and heavy, but keep in mind that the built-in battery is also not small.
Despite this, the smartphone has good potential for serious competition with Xiaomi brands and other manufacturers. The main advantages of UMIDIGI Power 3 are a large bright screen, good performance, and battery life, as well as the quality of the camera at a decent level.
UMIDIGI Power 3: Price and Where to buy cheaper?
Now you can find various prices for UMIDIGI Power 3, but I offer the lowest in the market – it is $149.99 with a 44% discount.
The device is very attractive, has a stylish and modern design, like branded devices from Samsung, but the price is almost 3 times lower.
