The Surface Pro 5 is probably not to be presented today. We summarize the current rumors.
Microsoft will hold an event on May 2nd. Maybe Microsoft is taking the opportunity to introduce the Surface Pro 5.
Surface Pro 5: Specifications
With a successor to the Surface Pro 4, many had already expected the Windows 10 event in October. At the same time, Microsoft gave only a preview of the Creators Update and presented the SurfaceBook i7 and the All-In-One-PC Surface Studio, which is still not available here. It had been rumored in the run-up that the Surface-Pro-4 series a Kaby-Lake CPU update could be donated.
Surface Pro 5: Display and rechargeable surface pen
According to current rumors, the Surface Pro 5 will be delivered with Kaby-Lake CPUs from Intel (7th CPU generation). The new model is also to have a 12.3-inch screen, which should offer a resolution of 4K instead of 2736 x 1824 pixels (Surface Pro 4). With the SurfaceBook, the resolution of the 13.5-inch display is 3,000 x 2,000 pixels. A possible possibility: Microsoft increases the display at the Surface Pro 5 and also increases the resolution. Not just for photographers and filmmakers, the 4K support would be a welcome improvement.
Further equipment is to include up to 16 gigabytes of memory, the Surface disk presented Surface Dial as well as a USB Type-C interface, through which the device can also be charged. So far, a proprietary charging cable has been necessary.
The surface pen, that is, the supplied input pin, should be rechargeable with the Surface Pro 5. The pencil should be attached to the display edge and at the same time be charged at the same time.
Surface Pro 5: Prices from 899 euros
The current model of the 2-in-1 computer is available in the Microsoft Online Store for as of 899 Euro (with Core m3 / 127 GB SSD and 4 GB RAM) and up to 2.829 Euro (Core i7 1 TB / 16 GB RAM). With the introduction of the Pro 5, the price for the predecessor model is likely to go down. The price for the cheapest model of the Surface Pro 5 is also expected to be 899 euros.
