SoundPEATS is currently surprising me with its number of different models of wireless earbuds. Today, I am starting our fifth review from SoundPEATS with the name of the model SoundPEATS TrueAir.
I suggest going through the main aspects of design and build quality, as well as find out the quality of sound and microphone.
You can now buy SoundPEATS TrueAir wireless earphones at a low price for just $33.
The new earphone model received a design similar to that of Apple AirPods, a 14.2mm biomembrane speaker, Qualcomm QCC3020 chipset, also support for aptX codec and good battery life up to 5 hours.
I wanted to start our review by unpacking and then talk about the look, so let’s go.
SoundPEATS TrueAir: Specifications
|Driver unit:||14.2mm biomembrane driver|
|Bluetooth protocol:||ATPX, AAC, SBC|
SoundPEATS TrueAir: Unboxing
The appearance of the box looks simple, it is made of white cardboard and on the front part, you can see a picture of earphones and the name of the model. On the backside are written the main features and specifications.
Inside the box, I found a charging case in protective foam, a charging cable with a Type-C port and instructions for use.
Naturally, there are no ear pads in the kit, since the appearance is almost an exact copy of Apple AirPods. But, I was glad to see the charging port with a Type-C connector, which is rarely seen on budget wireless earphones.
SoundPEATS TrueAir: Design
When I first took the charging case and earphones, I found that the weight of the earphones is negligible. For example, a case weighs 34 grams, and earphones weigh 4 grams each. Indeed, SoundPEATS TrueAir is almost not felt in the ears and does not cause severe discomfort.
TrueAir wireless earphones are made of glossy white plastic, which is very similar to the feel of AirPods. I have no complaints about the build quality, the case is well and properly assembled.
Like AirPods, on the front panel of the TrueAir, there is multifunctional touch control, but I will tell about the control a little later.
At the bottom are charging contacts and a microphone hole.
The sound guide received a protective mesh from dirt and dust, and the form is very similar to the second-generation AirPods.
In addition, the earphones are protected against splashes and sweat according to the IPX5 standard. Of course, you can’t swim and completely soak in water in them.
The charging case is made of the same glossy plastic as the earphones themselves. The shape of the box body is slightly different from AirPods.
At SoundPEATS TrueAir, the case sizes are slightly larger and more elongated, while AirPods are more compact.
The case cover on TrueAir opens well, I did not find any backlashes and the magnetic connection is used here.
On the front of the charging case, there is a button for pairing and at the bottom, there is a Type-C port for charging the box.
Inside the case, the earphones sit thanks to the magnetic connection and there is an LED indicator between the seats.
Given its price lower than $35, I did not find any strong flaws. SoundPEATS TrueAir wireless earphones sit well in the ear canal and even with prolonged wear I did not feel any discomfort.
SoundPEATS TrueAir: Connect and Control
The new model of earphones from SoundPEATS already uses all standard Bluetooth connection version 5.0. Also included in the device are audio codecs such as aptX, AAC, and SBC. As practice has shown, the earphones keep communication at a good level at a distance of up to 10 meters, and the communication signal was without interruptions and interference.
The connection is intuitive and simple, the first thing is to get the earphones from the case, then press the button on the charging case body. Then go to the Bluetooth menu on your smartphone or other device and connect to the SoundPEATS_TrueAir.
Touch control has a large multifunctional, let me go through every opportunity.
Double touch is a play/pause and also accept and hang up. Switching tracks forward or backward – a slight hold of about 1.5 seconds depending on the channel. There is also a volume control – one touch on the touch panel and also depending on the channel of the earphones. Triple touch – activate the voice assistant on your mobile device.
SoundPEATS TrueAir: Sound
Inside the case of the SoundPEATS TrueAir wireless earphones, an interesting and fairly large 14.2mm biomembrane speaker was installed. Also, the device works together with the Qualcomm QCC3020 chipset and, as a practice has shown, the combination of high-quality fillings makes the sound great for listening to music.
For example, low frequencies received though not the best bass with surround and dense sound, but it is present a little. Listen to modern and dynamic music will be pleasant through the TrueAir model.
The mid and high frequencies are well defined, the sound quality is up to the mark and at the same time, even at maximum volume, the sound does not cut the ears. The vocals, both male and female, are pleasant and evoke positive emotions.
In general, the sound in the new TrueAir model turned out to be quite interesting, it is clean and transparent, each element of the instrument sounds beautifully and separately.
The quality of the microphone is average, I would not say that it is perfect, but in noisy places, it is better not to talk, and there will be no quiet problems during a phone conversation.
SoundPEATS TrueAir: Battery
SoundPEATS TrueAir earphones are equipped with a 40 mAh battery in each channel. Of course, this is not the greatest value, but as a practice has shown, the battery life on a single charge at maximum volume was approximately 4.5 hours.
Also, the presence of a charging case with a 600 mAh battery can once again charge the earphones about 5 times. Therefore, the total battery life will be approximately 28 hours.
I was very glad to see the Type-C port for charging and the time for a full charge of the case and earphones was about 2 hours.
SoundPEATS TrueAir: Conclusions and Reviews
Given its budget price lower than $35, the earphones received an attractive appearance, comfortable fit, and technical specifications at a good level.
In addition, the sound quality is not the worst in its class, and I could attribute the TrueAir model to the best wireless earphones in this price category.
Also, I was surprised by the presence of Type-C connections and decent battery life on a single charge.
