Soundpeats is one of my favorite wireless earbuds companies. Today the brand unveiled a new TWS earbud model called the Soundpeats Sonic.
In this review, I’ll tell you about my impressions of the builds, materials used, touch controls, as well as sound, and battery life. Of course, throughout the review, you can find out all the advantages and disadvantages of the earbuds.
Now it’s worth mentioning the cost, currently, the Soundpeats Sonic will cost you an interesting price tag of just $ 50. These are not the cheapest TWS earbuds, but let’s see what you have to pay that kind of money for.
First of all, this model received a wireless connection Bluetooth 5.2 version, QCC3040 chipset with support for the aptX codec. In addition, the earbuds received a nice and unusual appearance.
Therefore, I propose to start my in-depth and complete review.

Unboxing and packaging
A new version of the wireless earbuds is delivered in the typical packaging for the Soundpeats brand. It is not a big box with bright big drawings and basic features.
Yes, it’s hard to call the packaging premium, since these are budget earbuds. Inside the package, I found – this is the charging box itself with earbuds inside, a set of various ear tips, instructions, and a Type-C charging cable.
That is, the equipment is very typical, as for most inexpensive TWS earbuds. Therefore, I propose to move on to the next section and find out what materials the earbuds are assembled.
Design, build quality and materials
The appearance of the new Soundpeats Sonic very much reminds me of the TrueShift 2 version I tested more than half a year ago. But the main difference between the new generation of earbuds is the presence of an interesting combination of colors. Gray and gold is a very unusual combination that I met for the first time.
You might think that earbuds with this color are only suitable for girls. But this is not so, even men will also like this color. It is a youthful and modern color with some minimalist touches.
In general, I really liked the design of Soundpeats Sonic, the earbuds turned out to be stylish and unusual.
As for the build quality, everything is perfect here. I did not find any extraneous squeaks or other annoying sounds. In addition, I liked the materials used – it is quite durable matte plastic.
In terms of convenience, I had no major problems. Standard ear tips immediately came to my ears and I could safely use the earbuds for a long time without severe ear fatigue. Also, Soundpeats Sonic is also suitable for sports. Since the fit in the ear canal is firm and even when running fast, I did not have the feeling that I would lose the earbuds.
The brand logo is located on the front of the earbuds. It received LED backlighting and touch control was integrated into this logo. I will discuss its performance in the next section.
On the inside, there are two contacts for charging and a label with a channel designation. On the side, you can see a hole for the microphone.
Now a little about the charging box. It also got the same color combination, it is gray and gold. The cover received a smooth opening stroke with a fairly strong magnet. Therefore, even during strong shaking, the earbuds will definitely not fall out of the box.
Under the cover of the box, there are seats for the earbuds and one LED indicator of the battery charge level. On the back of the box is a modern Type-C charging connection. But you shouldn’t expect wireless charging, Soundpeats Sonic is still the budget segment of TWS earbuds.
Connection, latency, and control
These are not the first wireless earbuds that I have been able to test with the Bluetooth 5.2 version wireless connection. Already, more and more TWS earbuds have started getting the latest version of wireless connectivity.
First of all, it gives more energy efficiency, better signal transmission, and a longer signal reception range. In the case of the Sonic model, on my test, I did not reveal any problems with the signal quality.
In addition, there is a game mode here. It will allow you to get very minimal latency not only while watching videos on YouTube but also to play games without much discomfort.
With regard to touch control, the new model of Soundpeats Sonic earbuds has received all only possible functions. You can pause, play, switch tracks, call the voice assistant, and even adjust the volume level.
Sound and microphone quality
I didn’t find any driver information in the Soundpeats Sonic. But my guess is that the earbud uses an 8-10mm dynamic driver.
In practice, wireless earbuds have performed amazingly well. In terms of low frequencies, the Sonic has a very massive bass.
But I can’t say that this bass jumps much into the mids and highs. Since they also play well, each musical instrument is heard clearly, and the voice of the vocalist is clear and understandable.
I really liked how the new version of the earbuds played. It really feels like the manufacturer has been working on a new model and therefore the Soundpeats Sonic is taking the next level in terms of sound quality.
Some information about microphones. And here everything is as usual, in a quiet room, the microphones play well, but in noisy places, I would like to get slightly better quality. Yes, my voice can be heard clearly, but the work of CvC 8.0 does not cope with its tasks.
Battery and run time
In each channel of Soundpeats Sonic earbud, the manufacturer has set a 70 mAh battery capacity. As shown in my test, the earbuds are capable of playing for about 14 hours at a volume level of 60%. This is a real record holder and before that, I have not seen anything like it.
In addition, there is a 400 mAh battery in the charging box. Thanks to it, you can charge the earbuds several more times and the total battery life will be about 43 hours.
But the charging time is standard – 1.5 hours through the Type-C port.
Conclusion, reviews, pros, and cons
The Soundpeats Sonic is the perfect earbuds that come with many useful features and functions.
On the positive side, I can attribute it to a comfortable fit in the ear canal, wireless Bluetooth connection with version 5.2, a large number of aptX, AAC, and SBC codecs. Naturally, I liked the volume and massive bass. In addition, there is a game mode with minimal delays and multifunctional touch control.
On the downside, I can mention the lack of fast charging, no active noise canceling function or transparency mode, and also not the best microphone quality in noisy places.
Price and where to buy cheaper?
You can currently get the Soundpeats Sonic at a tempting price tag for just $ 49.99.
Definitely, I can recommend wireless earbuds for purchase. They have a large list of positive features, given their low cost.
