After the successful release of the Soundcore Life P3 wireless earbud model, the manufacturer Anker decided to release a more simplified version of the device. Today I want to talk about a new model of TWS earbuds called Anker Soundcore Life P2 Mini.
Will today’s hero of mine be able to compete with manufacturers like QCY? I think quite, since the price tag for the new generation of earbuds from Anker is very tempting.
For example, now you can purchase the Anker Soundcore Life P2 Mini earbuds for only $35. Although during the last summer sale, I managed to grab this model of the device for only $29.
As for the main features, the earbuds have the latest Bluetooth 5.2 wireless connection. Also on board the device has a 10 mm dynamic driver and three customizable equalizer modes.
In addition, the manufacturer Anker guarantees 8 hours of battery life and there is also protection against sweat and splashes under the IPX5 standard. Since these are inexpensive wireless earbuds, you won’t find features like active noise canceling or transparency modes here.
Therefore, I have an open question, is the new model of TWS earbuds worth your attention or not? Thus, I propose to begin my detailed and in-depth review. But of course, in this review you can find out about the quality of workmanship and ease of fit.

Unboxing and packaging
The Soundcore Life P2 Mini earbuds are delivered in a rather small package. At the same time, the box itself was very bright and had an image of a drawing of earbuds and a charging case on the front. Also, the main features and functions of this earbud model were displayed on the entire surface of the package.
In addition, I can note that the packaging itself was not made of the densest material. But this is not surprising, since the cost of the earbuds does not exceed the $35 price tag.
Inside the package, I found the following components, such as the charging case and earbuds. Also in the box, I managed to find a Type-C charging cable, instructions for use and a set of silicone ear tips.
In fact, considering its cost, the bundle of Anker’s wireless earbuds was decent. Ok, now let me tell you about the quality of the workmanship and the materials used.
Design, build quality and materials
If you look at the official store from Anker, here you will find that the Soundcore Life P2 Mini is only available in one color. As you can guess from the picture, this is black. I was a little disappointed that the manufacturer does not offer other color options for purchase. But maybe in the future, color options will be added, and you can purchase your favorite color.
As for the materials used, Anker released the Soundcore Life P2 Mini earbuds from a combination of glossy and matte plastic. This is not a bad combination, since after all, most of the earbud housing was made of matte plastic, and the gloss was used only on the front of the device.
I also had no particular complaints about the build quality, all the components were well assembled together and I did not reveal any extraneous squeak or sound. I also liked the quality of the silicone ear tips as you rarely find good ear cushions in the budget TWS earbud segment.
In addition, the device has received IPX5 water and splash protection. But this does not mean that you can swim with this earbud model. But you can not be afraid of a humid environment or light rain.
If we touch on the topic of ease of landing, then I had no particular complaints during testing. It should be said that the weight of one earbud was only 4.6 grams. Yes, a comfortable fit will definitely be provided for you, but do not forget that these are in-ear vacuum earbuds. Therefore, after 2-3 hours of wearing, your ears will ask for a short break.
On the front of the case of the Soundcore Life P2 Mini earbuds, there is a touch control panel. But on the opposite side, there are two contacts with a magnetic connection for charging. On the bottom of the leg, you can find a hole for the main microphone. On the inside, one additional microphone was used to cancel out ambient sounds.
Ok, now let’s talk about the charging case of the new generation of budget earbuds from Anker. The box itself was made mostly of matte black plastic, just like the earbuds themselves. But here you can find some elements of glossy plastic. Also on the lid of the case is a glossy Soundcore logo.
As for the build quality, I also had no particular complaints, since the lid opened without a strong backlash. In addition, the lid was firmly held in the open position with any angle of inclination. Three LED indicators were installed on the front of the box. But on the back, there was a Type-C charging connection. Inside the case, between the earbud seats, there is a button for resetting the settings or viewing the battery level of the case itself.
In general, in terms of the quality of performance, I have no particular complaints about the new model of Soundcore Life P2 Mini earbuds. Therefore, now I propose to talk about the signal quality and other features.
Connection, latency and touch control
The new generation of Soundcore Life P2 Mini earbuds, although budgetary, was based on the Bluetooth 5.2 version of the wireless connection. Also, AAC and SBC audio codecs were used on board the device. As for the quality of signal transmission, I did not reveal any special complaints during my testing.
The earbuds are connected in a typical method, like most devices in this segment. That is, the first activation will be carried out manually via Bluetooth settings on your smartphone. But the subsequent connection will be automatic when you open the lid of the charging case.
I did not find a mobile application, but here there is a good job in terms of the latency level. For example, the device received a delay between smartphones of about 200ms. In games, such a delay was difficult to notice, especially since there was practically no delay while watching videos on YouTube. I want to note that there is no special game mode on board the earbuds.
The touch controls were quite adequate even during my testing:
- Double tapping causes play, pause, acceptance or end of the phone call.
- Holding 1.5 seconds on the right earphone switches the track forward, and on the left – backward.
- A triple tap on the right channel of the earbud switches the equalizer presets. For example, there are three presets here – Music, Bass Boost, and Podcast.
- A triple tap on the left channel calls up the voice assistant function on your smartphone.
Sound and microphone quality
A 10 mm dynamic driver is responsible for the sound quality. As practice has shown, it was enough in real life, since there was an abundance of headroom for the loudness level by 100%.
I usually try to listen to music in standard mode, but in the new Soundcore Life P2 Mini I really liked the enhanced bass mode. Or as the manufacturer Bass Booster calls it. When activated, the sound quality rises pretty well. At the same time, low frequencies do not particularly affect other frequency ranges, and the bass was massive and velvety.
I also liked the sound of the mids and highs. They had good detail and even at the maximum volume of the porridge in the sound, I did not reveal.
If you activate the podcast mode, then it will be useful for watching videos on YouTube. For example, you can also listen to podcasts, audio books, or even watch movies. During this EQ mode, the headphones did not raise the high frequencies much, but just slightly reduced the mids and lows.
As for the quality of the microphones, not everything is as bad as at first glance. In a quiet place, the microphones played very well, but in a noisy place the sound quality was not perfect, but the interlocutors heard me very well.
Battery and run time
I tested the battery life of the new generation of Soundcore Life P2 Mini earbuds, as usual, at 100% volume level. During my testing, the earbuds easily lasted about 5.5 hours.
Yes, this is not the indicator as the manufacturer assures. But my guess is that 8 hours of battery life can be achieved. Although for this it is necessary to reduce the value of the vo
Also, there is fast charging on board the earbuds and in 10 minutes of charge you can easily listen to music for up to 1 hour. It took me up to 50 minutes to fully charge the earbuds. And the charging case itself was charged in 1.5 hours via the Type-C connection.
Conclusion, reviews, pros and cons
After thorough testing, I definitely liked the new model of wireless earbuds from Anker.
The Soundcore Life P2 Mini device can easily squeeze out most of the sub-brands from Xiaomi, such as QCY and others. Of the positive aspects, I can single out the presence of good and fairly high-quality materials used in the manufacture.
I also liked the sound and performance of the microphones. Ease of fit is also a good parameter. And of course, I can’t get past the battery life.
But there are drawbacks, but they will not be particularly significant – this is the lack of a volume control function. In addition, there are no active noise canceling functions, transparency mode and even a proximity sensor for automatic pause.
Price and where to buy cheaper?
The Anker Soundcore Life P2 Mini wireless earbuds are already available for sale and you can purchase this model for only $34.42 with a 32% discount.
Therefore, given its low cost and a large number of positive aspects, I can certainly recommend this model of the device from Anker for purchase.
