Snapdragon 660: New mid-class SoC will be presented next week (Specs)

Qualcomm will present a new Snapdragon-SoC or Snapdragon 660 next week and has sent the invitations for their own event.

Snapdragon 660: Specifications

The Snapdragon 660 is at the door, Qualcomm will officially introduce the SoC next week. The model 660 is to be equipped with eight Kryo 280 cores. The performance is, therefore, likely to be close to that of the flagship SoCs (Snapdragon 835). However, the 660 is still produced in the 14nm FinFET process.

While the Snapdragon 8XX series is the highlight for Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 6XX series is likely to be much more lucrative for the company because it is used in many mid-class smartphones. We will see some of them up to the end of the year and many of them will be on the MWC 2018.

The announcement with all details, including the Adreno 512-GPU, will take place next week. To be exact on May 9th. Possible models with the Snapdragon 660 on board would be the Xiaomi Mi Mix successor, the Sony Xperia X Ultra and the Nokia 7 and 8. So far, none of them were presented.
