There are moments when a piece of equipment from the Far East spoils the language. For many, the brand new Jumper EZBook 3 Pro might be one of those moments. Cheap China laptops are a symbol for plastic firecrackers. But with the Jumper EZBook 3 Pro should change. This 270 € laptop is made of metal. And we’re not talking about a floor plate or a metal screen here. The complete housing is made of aluminum!

Jumper EZBook 3 Pro: Unboxing
The Jumper EZBook 3 Pro comes as usual in a simple, brown carton, which is provided with a model print. If you open the cardboard box on the top, you will see a wide box in which the power supply is located. This has a Chinese plug and can therefore only be used with an adapter. The power supply provides 12V and 3A.
The Jumper EZBook 3 Pro is protected with foam pads and is located in a plastic bag. Lots in the pack are still a small certificate of quality control, as well as the manual in English and Chinese language.
Jumper EZBook 3 Pro: Design
Our expectations for the Jumper EZBook 3 Pro were rather low, as we had already tested the previous laptops. The workmanship was never really perfect here, and always very flexible, cheap plastic was used. This is the reason why we were speechless for a while after unpacking the EZBook 3 Pro. What the manufacturer has set up here is unparalleled.
The Jumper EZBook 3 Pro actually consists of metal. And it is not a cheap metal case that has been produced by pressing. No, an unibody design is used, which is produced by CNC milling machines. The result is a very stable and beautiful looking case.
As usual, the EZBook 3 Pro jumper is based on Apple’s MacBook Air, but this time, you’ll find something to do with your own design element. Around the housing, as well as around the touchpad, a chamfer, which has been polished to the high gloss, is pulled. This provides a fresh and appealing look. On the edges, the laptop glitters properly when it is out in the sun. Also, the camera module over the display looks differently than with the MacBooks.
And now consider the price at which the Jumper EZBook 3 Pro is sold. Regularly it costs 270 € but is often reduced for only 200 € available. Comparing what the mainstream brands demand devices with a Unibody metal housing, it is almost unbelievable what jumper here offers.
Jumper EZBook 3 Pro: Display
Also, the construction site display could be eliminated with the jumper EZBook 3 Pro. Jumper finally sets on an angle-stable IPS LCD display. This immediately convinces with a good color reproduction, good contrast and a uniform illumination without lighthouses. The readability under sunlight is given – anti-glare and sufficient brightness thanks.
The keyboard also leaves a good first impression. There are no springs here and the writing noise is pleasantly quiet. The stroke of the keys is just right and the resistance is neither too high nor too low. In the first test, we were able to write a longer text at high speed without the problem, without jumping or double-recognized attacks.
We are not so convinced of the touchpad. It is by no means unused, but by no means perfect. Normal pointing and clicking is not a problem, but multitouch actions work rather tough. At least, you have not implemented any Windows gestures. These often interfere and can often be disabled in China laptops.
Jumper EZBook 3 Pro: Hardware and Performance
Performance-technically the jumper EZBook 3 Pro has left a good impression in the first tests. Windows is running smoothly and Google Chrome is also running quite smoothly. Asphalt Xtreme also runs smoothly in MDPI mode. Thanks to a monstrous heatsink, the cooling system has been perfectly adapted to the floor plate. In office operation, the processor temperature rarely rises above 50 ° C and when playing, a maximum of 70 ° C is reached.
The EZBook 3 Pro jumper offers two USB 3.0 ports, both of which provide enough power to power a 2.5 “hard disk drive, and we are a bit disappointed with the WLAN, where there is only one b / g / n single band card But the reception is quite good.
The stereo speakers sound quite ok if you play in the Realtek HD Audio Manager on the equalizer and activate the virtual surround sound. A slight bass reproduction is then present and distortion rarely occurs at high volume.
Jumper EZBook 3 Pro: Battery
The battery in the EZBook 3 Pro jumper is about 7,000mAh and is fully charged within 2 hours. We can not finally evaluate the battery life. According to the data so far, however, it takes 5 to 7 hours depending on load and display brightness.
Jumper EZBook 3 Pro: First impression
It was so far to our first impressions that we have collected with the Jumper EZBook 3 Pro. As you can see, there is currently nothing to complain about. Whether this remains so will now show in the everyday test during the next 7 days. The complete test report you find in more than a week at this point.
