These can be in the case of Macaw TX-80 and use it. This system has the advantage that the extra weight of the electronics needed for the Detachable Bluetooth connection is on your shoulders and not on your ears.

The weight of the Macaw TX-80 with 31g is extremely low.

The neckband is partly made of metal and partly of rubber. The latter gives the neckband a certain flexibility so that it can adapt to the wearer.

Macaw TX-80 Review: Best Detachable Neckband Bluetooth Headphones in 2018?

Qualitatively make the Macaw TX-80 a good impression. The cable of the earphone looks not quite thin, which is pretty good.

Even if this is so strong, there is much stress on the cable than with normal earphones, which are simply put in the pocket.

What exists, however, is an elevator mechanism. If you do not use the earphones, the cable will not retract, so the earphones will not just stumble around in the area.

Macaw TX-80: Practical and Works

What about buttons and connections? These are attached to the left side of the neckband. Here is a universal button, to turn on/off as well as pausing/resuming the music, calling a language assistant and switching through the EQ settings.

Next to this button is a slider, which allows you to adjust the volume buttons, as well as the forward/rewind.

Inside the neckband is under a small rubber flap a micro USB port, which allows the charging of the earphones.

Although Macaw earphone in this review does not give an IP rating for its earphones, it has only IPX5 Waterproof. These are of course protected against sweat and not afraid of rainy days. A use in sports is thus nothing in the way.

The battery life of the Macaw TX-80 is a solid 8 hours of music or 20 hours of talking time.

Macaw TX-80: Comfort

Wearing the Macaw TX-80 in the test is a bit unusual at first because of the neckband. However, once you get used to this temple, it is very comfortable to wear.

The earphones themselves are relatively small and sit quite low in the ears. As a result, they have a very good grip and comfortable fit.

Due to the neckband, there is also no train on the cable! This is a big advantage over regular Bluetooth earphones or even normal wired earbuds.

There is almost no risk of the earplugs slipping out.

Also, the earphones are generally very relaxed! Only if you have a very thin neck, I could imagine that the neckband may slip back and forth while jogging, which could interfere.

Away from it full score for comfort.

Macaw TX-80: Sound

Let’s get to the most important point in the Macaw TX-80 is the sound. Can the earphones convince here?

Macaw TX-80 Review: Best Detachable Neckband Bluetooth Headphones in 2018?Macaw TX-80 Review: Best Detachable Neckband Bluetooth Headphones in 2018?

The Macaw TX-80 has an integrated EQ. Depending on how this is set, the earphones have more/fewer highs, mids or basses. This is a very important point.

Macaw TX-80 earphone has 10mm aero titanium metal compound diaphragm Apt-X audio decoding technology. So, it makes the high-efficiency sound, clear and bright high frequency, also natural and thorough medium frequency resolution.

Macaw TX-80 Review: Best Detachable Neckband Bluetooth Headphones in 2018?

By nature, the Macaw TX-80 in the review seems to be primarily trimmed to the bass and lower mid-range, with rather warm, slightly matte highs.

That’s why I do not like the hip-hop/EDM preset at all. In this EQ setting, the already quite strong bass is pushed a bit and the somewhat weaker heights are reduced again. This makes for a slightly dull and listless sound. Especially since the bass increases only slightly in mass, but not in depth.

Macaw TX-80 Review: Best Detachable Neckband Bluetooth Headphones in 2018?

By contrast, I like the jazz/classical profile best by far. Why? The earphones have a good bass in all settings, in the 3rd preset, however, the heights are slightly raised.

This is something that does the Macaw TX-80 very well! As a result, the earphones continue to have a crisp and powerful bass, but the slightly weaker heights are compensated by the EQ setting.

Macaw TX-80 Review: Best Detachable Neckband Bluetooth Headphones in 2018?

Although the heights are still not outstanding, these are sufficiently clear and clean. This, in combination with the powerful bass, gives a quite dynamic and fun sound. Fortunately, the centers are still well represented. Voices sound strong and clear.

Macaw TX-80 Review: Best Detachable Neckband Bluetooth Headphones in 2018?

Do not let this distract you too much from the profile names. In jazz/classical profile sounds any music s.besten, at least in my opinion.

I had no problems with the Bluetooth connection. Also, I could not hear any compression artifacts or the like clearly.

Macaw TX-80 Review: Best Detachable Neckband Bluetooth Headphones in 2018?

The maximum volume I would classify as Okay. Bluetooth earphones in analisis are never super loud, and so is the Macaw TX-80. But the maximum volume is more than enough for normal everyday life.

Macaw TX-80: Conclusions and Reviews

Whether the earphones Macaw TX-80 in our review is for you depends on two factors. First, are you clear with the neckband design? Second, do you like a slightly warmer sound with a good bass sound?

Macaw TX-80 Review: Best Detachable Neckband Bluetooth Headphones in 2018?

If your answer to both questions was yes, I can recommend the Macaw TX-80 for around $35.

The neckband design may seem a little strange at first glance, but in practice, this is actually quite pleasant. You barely have no pull on the earplugs, which is especially welcome in sports.

The Macaw TX-80 have a rather bass-strong and rather warm sound. The heights are okay so far, but not outstanding.

Macaw TX-80 Review: Best Detachable Neckband Bluetooth Headphones in 2018?

The Macaw TX-80 earphone is rather bought for a good bass and fun sound. Especially in the “Jazz/Classical Music” preset, the earphones sounded pretty good. I would say the sound is appropriate for the price.

The feed mechanism worked satisfactorily well for me and the battery life is solid with 8 hours.
