Who produces the Google Pixel 3? LG is one of the candidates, the rumors would rather not comment. Google and LG have already produced smartphones in the past.
The Google Pixel 2 is not even on the market. Nevertheless, rumors gather around the next Google smartphone. As the South Korean Chosun Biz now reported, LG is already as a Google partner already fixed. LG speaks of “speculation”, which is not further comment. Google Pixel 3 is expected for 2018. Pixel 2 will comment come on the market in October 2017.
More stability required
According to the report, Google is looking for a partner for Pixel 3, which can have “more stability” in terms of manufacturing. With the pixel Google has since the release in November 2016 “only”, 2.1 million units sold. Difficulties just at the outset could be considered one of the reasons for the sluggish sale. LG already co-operated with LG in the Nexus 4, Nexus 5 and Nexus 5X.
Even with Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 would be possible to work with LG, at least on the display. This is due to the alleged offer by Google to make an investment of approximately 831 million euros to LG. This is to guarantee the display production for the next flagship. Again any difficulties with the delivery should be avoided at all costs.
Samsung would also consider as a possible partner for the OLEDs of the upcoming pixel smartphone. However, a new cooperation seems to be virtually impossible. Samsung is too busy with its own devices like the Galaxy S8 and the possible delivery of OLEDs for the iPhone 8. An additional capacity for Google seems rather unlikely.
Google Pixel 2 probably from October
The new pixel 2 is expected for October 2017. Rick Osterloh, hardware chief of Google, is also on this date – at the Mobile World Congress 2017 he marked October as “likely.” As with the predecessor, a special focus on the camera is expected. This should provide good results even in poor light conditions. For the camera in pixels, Google has received much praise.
What is your opinion on the subject? Should Google put on LG or try it with HTC?
