It’s been a long time since I had a real smartwatch on the Android operating system. Therefore, today I plan to tell you my impressions of the new smartwatch model, which is called Kospet Optimus 2.
A long time ago I already came across the Kospet brand and I had relatively positive emotions from using them. But how the new smartwatch model will show itself in real life, you will find out in this detailed review.
As for the cost, I cannot call it the Kospet Optimus 2 smartwatch budget. Currently, the manufacturer asks for a rather large amount of about $ 200 for the watch.
For this price, you get a watch with a Helio P22 processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. In addition, the device was equipped with a 13-megapixel Sony IMX214 camera. You can also highlight a good operating system Android 10.7, 2260 mAh battery capacity and a 1.6-inch IPS screen.
Other features of this smartwatch model include the presence of two operating systems. That is, the Optimus 2 watch is capable of running on pure Android as well as on a simplified user interface. Naturally, the device has many different functions, sports modes, 4G network support and many other features.
Thus, if you are interested in learning more about each function and feature, then I suggest reading this review in full. I will not hesitate and suggest that you start your inspection by unboxing.

Unboxing and packaging
A small black square package came to me for a test, where only the brand name with a slogan was located on the front of it. The packaging itself was made of dense cardboard material and the box came to me for the test intact and without damage.
But inside the package, in addition to the smartwatch itself, I found a pretty good list of various accessories. For example, there was a four-pin charging cable with a magnetic connection, two screen protectors, a small screwdriver for a SIM tray, and an additional battery with a MicroUSB charging cable. Also, the package included instructions for use with a warranty card.
As you can see for yourself, the package bundle is quite extensive and there is everything you need for full use, including even a protective film on the watch screen. Now is the time to discuss wearing comfort and the main design features of a smartwatch.
Design, build quality and materials
The basic version of the Kospet Optimus 2 smartwatch comes in one single color – black. This watch model has a silicone strap, but in addition you can order yourself an additional strap in black or brown. These straps were made from a combination of leather and silicone material. But the color of the smartwatch case will always be the same, that is, in the black version.
From the materials used, it should be said that the Optimus 2 watch was made of hard matte plastic. But on the front of the device, you can see a ceramic coating around the screen frame. At the same time, the weight of the smartwatch, taking into account the weight of the strap, was about 81 grams. This is not much and I could easily wear the watch on my small wrist. That is, I did not have strong discomfort while wearing it.
The same goes for the build quality, each component was well assembled and during my testing I did not find any extraneous squeaks or sounds. But you cannot swim or wet the device under running water. Since smartwatches from Kospet have not received any protection against water. But you may not be afraid of sweat or small splashes, as I think that the watch will definitely not fail.
On the front of the case, as I said, there is a 1.6-inch screen with a resolution of 400 x 400 pixels. It uses the most standard matrix with IPS technology. So I didn’t have any major readability issues.
It is also worth mentioning that the screen had quite bright colors and showed good viewing angles. As for the maximum brightness value, it was about 450 nits. It’s not that bad and in day-to-day use I have not had much trouble with the readability of the screen outdoors in sunny weather.
On the back of the Kospet Optimus 2 watch device, you can see a four-pin connection for charging and data transfer. Also in the central part of the watch is a heart rate sensor. In addition, there is a speaker and a microphone hole.
If you look at the right side of the device, you can find two mechanical buttons – one for turning on in blue and the second multifunctional only in black. But on the opposite side of the watch, there is a slot for a nano SIM card. As I said earlier, to remove this slot, you need to use a small screwdriver that comes from the box.
Since I have a basic version of smartwatches from Kospet, the device received only one strap option. That is, the strap itself was made of silicone black material, and it had a width of 24 mm. In addition, the strap is removable and you can easily replace it with any other option.
Good, but the disadvantages are the rather large thickness of the smartwatch, which was 17 mm. In this case, the dimensions of the device were 52.5 x 52.5 mm with a long strap of about 260 mm. Agree that the body of the watch device is quite thick, but I didn’t have any particular problems during testing. Ok, now let’s talk in more detail about the technical stuffing and the main functions.
Performance, features, functions and OS
Inside the smartwatch case, two processors are used – this is the Helio P22 and the auxiliary PAR2822 chipset. Each of the processors performs its own task. That is, you remember I said that the device received two operating systems. If the Android OS works in conjunction with the Helio P22 processor, then the light version of the user interface works in conjunction with the PAR2822.
In addition, the Kospet Optimus 2 smartwatch received 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory. Agree with me that the amount of memory and CPU usage of Helio P22 is exactly the same as on any ultra budget smartphone. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised by the performance of the watch. For example, all the processes ran smoothly and I did not find any lag or freeze at all.
Let’s talk about the user interface of the Android operating system first. The main screen of the device has received a large number of different types of dials. In addition, you can additionally install other themes or even use your own photo. Now let’s go through the main aspects of smartwatch management from Kospet.
Swiping up from the main watch face takes you to a quick menu of some useful widgets. There are three subsections here, such as music player controls, weather, and daytime activity. In this case, if you swipe to the right of the screen, you will get to the menu of the latest notifications. When you swipe to the left, the main menu is located with all applications and functions. Also, if you additionally swipe to the left, the sports modes menu will be displayed.
The last menu is carried out by swiping down from the main screen and here I see the following useful information. This is the activation of a wireless connection – Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LTE networks, and much more. In simple terms, this menu refers to the quick settings menu. Such a menu is present on all smartwatches that I have been able to test before.
As for the main menu, there are a lot of different applications and features. For example, if you have installed a SIM card, then you will be able to make phone calls or receive messages without any problems. In addition, the main menu contains the following useful applications, such as the Play Store for installing games or other programs. You will also be able to measure your heart rate and blood oxygen levels SpO2.
That is, the main menu of applications has a large number of features that are rarely found in everyday smartwatches. I also liked the presence of modern features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and even the presence of a GPS module. In a word, the Kospet Optimus 2 smartwatch is a full-fledged smartphone, only on your wrist.
I would also like to mention the presence of a 13-megapixel sensor on top of the screen. The camera itself is a flip-up camera and is actually a handy solution. There is also an LED flash near the camera sensor, which will be useful in the dark. You can see examples of the photos taken in the album below. Of course, the quality of the photos is not the most ideal, but also I cannot call it terrible.
Battery and run time
Like most smartwatches on the Android operating system, the new Kospet Optimus 2 model is not famous for its high battery life. A 1260 mAh battery was installed inside the device. But besides this, the manufacturer also offers an additional battery with a capacity of 1000 mAh.
Therefore, on my test, the smartwatch was able to work on the Android OS for a full two days using the extra battery capacity. This is not surprising since most other smartwatch models have the same battery life.
But you can also use the light mode of the OS and then the battery life of the device will grow up to 3-5 days, depending on the load and use. It’s worth noting though that even in Lite mode, you will be able to make calls or send messages.
It took me about 2 hours to fully charge the battery via the four-pin magnetic connection. In this case, the additional battery is charged using a Micro USB connection and its charging took about 1.5 hours.
Conclusion, reviews, pros and cons
Kospet Optimus 2 is undoubtedly a real smartwatch that was built on the Android operating system.
The new generation of the device has a large number of features and functions that most competitors lack. On the positive side, I can single out this rather large 1.6-inch IPS screen with a good brightness value.
The device also received two operating systems and two processors. This is definitely a plus, since you do not always need the Android operating system with its extensive functionality and capabilities. Therefore, if you want to conserve battery power, then it is best to use light mode with a minimum number of active functions.
I also liked the work of the heart rate sensors and the SpO2 sensor. In addition, the smartwatch has GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth sensors. A bonus can be attributed to the presence of a large amount of internal memory and even a good camera sensor with a resolution of 13 megapixels.
But the shortcomings remain the same and it will be problematic to get rid of them, as for smartwatches built on the Android OS. This is not the highest battery life, and the watch case is also very thick.
Price and where to buy cheaper?
The Kospet Optimus 2 smartwatch has become even more powerful, but the price tag has also increased and you can currently buy the watch for $197.49 with a 21% discount.
Therefore, if you will easily relate to charging your watch every two or even one day, then I can easily recommend this smartwatch model from Kospet to you.
