What can you expect from the Chinese manufacturer iWO’s ultra budget smartwatch when you first hear the brand name? I think it’s not good, but let me not jump to premature conclusions. And the new one will tell you my opinion about the fitness watch model called iWO HW21.
Indeed, the name of the iWO brand is not particularly familiar to me, but the company brings to my attention a very interesting smartwatch model at an affordable price. In this article, you can learn not only about the main functions and their work, but also share with you my emotions from the build quality and the use of materials.
The HW21 will set you back for just $25. That is, the price tag on the device is not very high, which makes the watch affordable for users.
As for the technical watch cases, only 8.9 mm and zinc alloy. Also, the watch received the latest generation of wireless connection Bluetooth 5.2 version.
In terms of functionality, everything is standard, as on most fitness watches. This way I can start my in-depth and detailed review to find out all the strengths and weaknesses of smartwatches.

Unboxing and packaging
The iWO HW21 watch is delivered in a small rectangular white packaging. On the front, you can find a display of a picture of a smart watch with the model name. Meanwhile, there are icons on the back of the package with the main features and specifications.
Inside the box, I found it was a two-pin charging cable with a magnetic connection. Directly the watch itself with a protective transport film on the dial and instructions.
That is, it is easy to guess that a budget watch with a price tag of $25 will not have a premium appearance of the packaging and other additional goodies. Therefore, now I propose to talk about the appearance and its main features.
Design, build quality and materials
First, I want to draw your attention to the very strict and rather interesting appearance of smartwatches from the iWO brand. This is a round watch that has received a minimalistic design in its performance.
In terms of size, the dimensions of the dial are 42 mm in diameter and about 10 mm in thickness. Although at the same time the manufacturer says a slightly different value for the thickness of 8.9 mm. But despite this, even 10 mm in thickness is not that much and they really look thin. At the same time, the weight, taking into account the strap, was 41 grams.
On the wrist, the HW21 looked pretty good. I suppose that this model of the device will be purchased more, both for business purposes, and not for sports activities. But this does not mean that you cannot run with them or work out in the gym. Since the smartwatch has received IP68 water protection. Therefore, they are not afraid of splashing water or submersion. That is, you can easily swim with them in the pool or take a shower.
In terms of the materials used, not everything is so simple here either, because the iWO HW21 watch was made of an alloy of zinc material. But on the inside of the watch case, a matte plastic case is used. That being said, the build quality isn’t as bad as for a budget smartwatch. For example, the watch does not have any extraneous sounds or squeaks.
As for the control, it is carried out through a touch-sensitive IPS screen with a size of 1.28 inches. The manufacturer does not say the value of the number of pixels, but I assume that it is 240 x 240 pixels. The quality of the screen is pretty good and it has good viewing angles and good color reproduction. In addition, I cannot say that I was missing the maximum value for the brightness level in the open air. In general, things are not so bad with the screen, given its insignificant cost of the device.
On the side, there is a power or backward button. It works very well and has good responsiveness. On the back of the smartwatch, there is a heart rate sensor and, of course, contacts for charging.
Now let’s talk a little about the silicone strap. The strap on the iWO HW21 watch is removable, and you can easily change it to any other option. I can also highlight the interesting structure of the outer part of the strap, which gives the watch a good combination in appearance. At the same time, the width of the strap was 20 mm, which means that you will definitely not have big problems finding another strap.
Okay, now is the time to talk about the main functions, features and check how the watch copes with everyday tasks in real life.
Functions, features and mobile app
The first thing that meets me when turning on the iWO HW21 smart watch is, of course, a bright dial. Also, when you hold your finger on the home screen, you will be taken to a menu where you can select several other watch face styles. Initially, only 3 types of watch faces are available. But through the mobile application, you can install many more different watch faces.
Next, let’s talk about managing the user interface and setting it up. When I swipe down from the main dial, I got to the quick settings menu and there are several useful features here. For example, these are icons such as sleep and do not disturb, battery level, find a smartphone, brightness level and shutdown. Usually, this section contains an icon for the main settings, but on the HW21 model such an icon is not provided.
If you swipe to the right of the watch home screen, you can see useful widgets. These are activities throughout the day, heart rate, sleep, and more. You can also add various widgets or remove them.
To get to the main menu with all applications and functions, you need to swipe to the left of the main screen of the watch face. Here I discovered features such as weather, heart rate, blood oxygen levels, activities, notifications, music player, sleep, sports training, stopwatch, timer, and settings. In general, all the features are very typical and standard, as on most smartwatch devices.
In the settings, I found such sections – this is an automatic screen off, the function of raising a hand and information about the watch. When it comes to sports training, the HW21 has not received much sports training. The main ones I can attribute are outdoor running, exercise equipment, walking, cycling and many others. Naturally, the HW21 watch does not have a GPS module, so the accuracy of the indicators will not be entirely correct.
Okay, now I propose to check the accuracy of the heart rate and blood oxygen level SpO2. For example, the watch during my testing showed a result of about 87 beats per minute, while the medical device showed absolutely the same result of 87. But the value of the oxygen level in the blood on the watch was about 97%, the same result was on the medical device. That is, the measurement accuracy made me very happy.
A little about the application itself and the wireless connection. On board the iWO HW21 smartwatch, Bluetooth 5.2 version is used and I had no problems with the quality of communication at all. At the same time, the mobile application was named WearFit Pro, which can be installed both through the Play Store and through the App Store.
The main menu of the mobile application displays a large amount of useful information. Here you can analyze your physical activity, monitor your heart rate and blood oxygen levels SpO2, as well as sleep indicators. As I said before, there are a lot of useful features in the application settings. For example, here you can install or select additional watch face styles and more.
Battery and run time
Inside the case of the iWO HW21 smartwatch, a 200 mAh battery is used. Considering its small size and thickness, I was a little surprised by the rather large battery capacity.
In practice, the watch was able to last about 5-7 days, depending on use. Therefore, I do not think that you may have problems with battery life.
At the same time, it took me up to 2 hours to fully charge through the magnetic connection of the two pin cables.
Conclusion, reviews, pros and cons
After a few days of active testing and wearing the iWO HW21 smartwatch, it stuck in my memory in a very positive way.
Yes, perhaps this smartwatch model does not have a lot of features. For example, there is no Bluetooth calling function, GPS module or other features. But on the other hand, the watch received a very responsive user interface. Since all functions and features were opened quickly and without any delays.
I also liked the work of the heart rate and SpO2, the results of the indicators were completely the same as on the medical device. I also liked the battery life, build quality and materials used.
Price and where to buy cheaper?
At the time of this writing, the iWO HW21 was priced at just $24.61 with a 46% discount.
Considering that the devices from the iWO company have excellent performance and work of all features, I can recommend this smartwatch model with a light heart.
