Many users were looking for a small smart bracelet with the ability to answer phone calls. So Huawei listened to its fans and produced a new smart bracelet model called Huawei Talkband B6.
This bracelet fulfills two main features at the same time. This is monitoring your health and also the ability to answer phone calls as a headset.
An unusual smart bracelet will cost you not a small cost, namely, $100 for the most basic version.
In addition, I can note that the bracelet from Huawei received a 1.53-inch AMOLED screen, Kirin A1 processor, wireless connection with the latest generation of Bluetooth 5.2, and also a 120 mAh battery capacity.
Of the technical features, a two-in-one device, that is, a headset and a smart bracelet turned out to be a rather unusual and interesting gadget. But to find out what the device is capable of, let’s put it to the test in a detailed test.

Unboxing and packaging
Huawei has introduced a new smart bracelet for the Chinese market only. Therefore, all designations and features on the boxes will also be in Chinese only.
The box itself is made in white, where on the front, there is a picture of a smart bracelet and a company logo with the model name. The main features can be found on the back of the box. I can refer to them as Bluetooth 5.2, heart rate monitor, Type-C connection, and much more.
Inside the box, I was beautifully greeted by the smart bracelet itself, but apart from that I found – instructions, a Type-C charging cable, and also a set of various ear tips.
In general, the equipment turned out to be pretty good, but the main drawback is the Chinese version of the device. The instructions are completely in Chinese, but when you install the application, you can read the instructions in English.
Design, build quality and materials
The smart bracelet Huawei Talkband B6 comes in two versions – a plastic case and a metal one. Both versions are assembled well and I have not found any complaints about the build quality.
But the difference between a plastic and a metal case is the price. It differs almost twice and whether it is worth overpaying for a metal case is up to you.
On the front of the bracelet is a large rounded 1.53 inch AMOLED screen with a pixel density of 326 PPI. That is, the screen resolution was 460 x 188 pixels. The quality of the screen matrix itself is at a high level and I did not find any strong flaws when using smart bracelets.
The screen received good contrast, high brightness, and rich color reproduction. During my testing, using the bracelet was comfortable and the most important thing was that everything was well readable.
On the right side of the case, there is a mechanical power button that turns the smart bracelet on or off.
In addition, it is not difficult to see one button at the side ends in the lower part of the case. With the simultaneous pressing of these two buttons, the bracelet capsule with a slight movement pops out from the case of the strap.
There is a charging port at the bottom of the end, and a sound guide with an ear cushion is located on the inside. The delivery set includes several pairs of ear tips and you can easily choose the ear canal for your size.
The bracelet itself received protection from water under the IP57 standard. This is not full-fledged protection against water and it is absolutely impossible to swim with the Talkband B6 bracelet in the shower or in the pool.
The capsule weighs only 29 grams and is quite comfortable to wear in the ear. The right choice of ear tips with a special ear wing will prevent the headset body from falling out even during a fast run.
The strap is made of leather material and has a width of 16 mm. Already, Chinese stores offer a variety of bracelet options, including a metal version.
In general, the smart bracelet Huawei Talkband B6 received very premium materials to use. Also, the build quality did not suffer, all the elements were assembled at the highest level. Now let’s talk a little about the functionality and quality of the microphone and sound.
Functions, headset use, app connection
As for the main functions of Huawei Talkband B6, they are exactly the same as in most modern smart bracelets, for example, as in the Mi Band 5. But there is also the main feature which I will talk about a little later.
Now a little about the main screen, the smart bracelet has received many different watch faces. To change the watch face, you need to hold your finger for a few seconds on the main screen. In addition, you can additionally install and download even more watch faces through the mobile application.
Also, I liked that the main watch face displays a lot of functions. For example, here you can find features such as time, date, steps, distance, heart rate, and even battery level.
If you swipe down, you’ll get to the quick settings menu. There are icons such as do not disturb mode, vibration level, silent mode, smart alarm, and settings.
In the settings of smart bracelets from Huawei, you can find sections such as screen settings, where you can choose a watch face, set the brightness level, and more.
Swiping left or right will display the following widgets – daily activity, music player, weather, and heart rate.
As I already mentioned, the Talkband B6 smart bracelet just came out for the Chinese market, so there are not many languages other than English and Chinese here. Therefore, for many users, this can become a rather big problem.
To go to the main menu with all the functions and features, you must press the button located on the right side of the case. In this list, you will find features such as phone call management, sports modes, heart rate, blood oxygen levels, sleep, stress, and breathing metrics. In addition, there is also a music player, weather, stopwatch and timer, alarm clock, flashlight, camera control, find a smartphone and settings.
Now about the main function – it’s phone conversations. There is no separate nano-SIM card tray. Thus, calls are made as with conventional wireless earbuds. That is, via a Bluetooth 5.2 wireless connection. The sound and microphone quality is exactly the same as through a smartphone. The interlocutors will hear you clearly even in windy weather, just like you do it.
In the Huawei Health app, you can analyze metrics such as steps, distance, heart rate, and more. In addition, there are various functions in the application settings that you can customize for yourself. For example, this is choosing a wrist, setting watch faces, setting up notifications, and many other functions.
Battery and run time
In the case of the smart bracelet, there is a Huawei Talkband B6 battery with a capacity of 120 mAh. As my practice has shown, during a half-hour conversation, the battery was discharged by 7%. That is, a full charge of the battery is enough for about 7 hours of operation.
On average, the user will be able to get about 3 days of battery life with active use and calls. But as I assume, the device will have to be changed every two days.
But the positive point is fast charging and in 45 minutes the smart bracelet was charged from 0 to 100% through the Type-C connection.
Conclusion, reviews, pros, and cons
Huawei Talkband B6 is, indeed, a unique smart bracelet that surprised me a little with both its functionality and its capabilities.
The main feature is the ability to receive phone calls. This is the first smart bracelet that got this opportunity, and it’s really cool.
Of course, the battery life is very weak, but if you don’t make calls that often, the device can last up to one week.
Overall, I liked Huawei’s smart wearable device, but the main drawback for me is also the price tag.
Price and where to buy cheaper?
Now you can buy a smart bracelet with the ability to answer calls Huawei Talkband B6 with a price tag of $ 99.89 with a 30% discount and this is for the plastic version. If we consider the option with metal cases, then the price doubles – $196.
I definitely liked the smart bracelet, but given its cost, you can buy a decent smart bracelet and wireless earbuds separately. Therefore, when choosing a purchase, it’s up to you.
