I manage to test almost every product from the FIIDO brand and if you haven’t read my reviews then I’ll leave a link to other e-bike models here. Today I want to tell you about my impressions of a new bike model called FIIDO L3.
The first thing you pay attention to when I first see the bike with my own eyes is its dimensions. This is a truly small and compact electric bike that will be nimble in the tight spaces of a busy metropolis.
But does it make sense for the new FIIDO model to exist in real life? You can find out about all the advantages and disadvantages of the new generation of the electric bike in my detailed review below.
Now I want to talk about cost, as this is one of the most important factors when buying any bike. Currently the price tag for FIIDO L3 is $1000, but I have a coupon FDL3EU and the final price will be $880.
I can’t say that the price is very attractive, but before jumping to conclusions, let’s go over the main technical specs. In addition to the compact appearance of the bike frame, you also notice the rather small 14-inch wheels.
The power of the electric motor was 350W, and the capacity of the removable battery was 23.2Ah. In this case, the range will lie from 80 to 130 km. That is, this value will depend on the operating conditions and modes of use. Okay, the specs for the new L3 aren’t all that bad. Therefore, let me tell you more about the appearance and its design.

Unboxing and packaging
A new bike model came to me for review in the most ordinary cardboard packaging. I should note that the box is quite voluminous and heavy, for example, the dimensions of the box were 74 x 58 x 41 cm, and it weighed about 26 kg.
Inside the box itself, I found a large amount of foam that protects the bike from damage during transport. From the complete set, I can single out the presence of instructions for assembly and use, a set of hex keys, a power adapter for charging from adapters.
The bike itself was fully assembled, but folded. Usually I had to install separate pedals, steering wheels and seats. But with the FIIDO L3 model, this did not have to be done. Okay, now let’s find out the quality of the performance, and analyze the nuances in appearance.
Design, build quality and materials
Of course, like other FIIDO e-bike models, the new L3 is made from a relatively light aluminum alloy. I have no strong complaints about the design features. But here it is worth noting more about the build quality, which is also an important factor.
Not only did I test the bike on a flat road, but I also drove on bad terrain to find out how well the bike was assembled. So after a long trip on the cobblestones, I did not find any extraneous sounds. All parts were put together well and no questions asked. But the welded joints are not as neat as I would like to see.
My weight was only 85 kilograms, but the manufacturer promises that the bike will be able to withstand loads of up to 120 kilograms. I think it is unlikely that a person weighing more than 100 kg will be comfortable riding this bicycle model. Let me tell you a little about my driving experience.
I am 185 cm tall and I had to raise the steering wheel to the highest position, so did the seat. Even with the correct adjustments, I was not particularly comfortable riding the rather small bike frame. But my wife, with a height of 165 cm, felt great and did not have any discomfort. Therefore, from this I can conclude that the FIIDO L3 bike model is suitable for people up to 170 cm tall.
When unfolded, the dimensions of the bike were 126.5 x 59 x 97 cm, but when folded, only 70 x 36 x 68 cm. This is great news for people with limited space in the apartment. And also for those who need to transport a bicycle in public transport or in a small car trunk.
As for the size of the wheels, they were 14 by 1.95 inches. As my practice has shown, using such wheels on a bad road did not bring a lot of pleasure. But on a good and flat road, I did not have strong problems with such a wheel size. If you want a compact bike, but with large wheels, then you should pay attention to models such as FIIDO D11 or FIIDO D4S.
Inside the frame, between the rear wheel and the seat, you can see a removable battery with a capacity of 23.2 Ah. The battery itself has a security lock and two keys from the box. On the top of the battery, you can see the handle for easy removal and the FIIDO brand logo. It’s great news that the battery is removable as it is easier to take to recharge than the entire bike.
The seat itself has a wide shape, so it was not very comfortable to travel long distances on this seat. Although I can note that a shock absorber is installed at the base of the seat for a more comfortable ride on uneven roads. I also note that the seat reclines 90 degrees forward so you can easily remove the battery from your seat.
The front and rear wheels are equipped with a mechanical disc brake with a diameter of 160 mm. The electric motor was located on the rear wheel and you can also use one chain drive to move the bike in foot mode. Both the front and rear wheels have been fitted with mud and splash protection fenders.
I can also note the presence of an LED signal on the back of the bike, which is always on when the device is turned on. In addition, you can see the reflector here. In addition, an LED headlight is located on the front under the steering wheel to help you navigate at night.
The steering wheel has two levers for the front and rear brakes. There is also a small monochrome screen, a light button and a beep. At the same time, the beep itself is quite loud, so people around you will definitely hear you.
Okay, I think now we can talk about performance and my driving emotions.
Performance, ride experience and range
I already mentioned that the power of the electric motor was 350W and as for such a small bike with small wheels, this is not bad power. For example, I managed to drive up the highest hill in my city and this power was enough.
For example, other 250W bicycles could no longer cope with this climb. Therefore, if you are choosing a bicycle for yourself, look at such a parameter as the power of the electric motor. Thus, it is better to consider options with a power ranging from 350W and above.
On the steering wheel, as I said, there is a monochrome screen. It displays key values such as travel speed, battery level and operating modes. But I did not find the odometer and it upset me a little, since I do not know what distance I have already traveled.
It is worth talking about the modes of operation, there are only three of them, and each of the modes has its own power and thus the maximum permissible speed. Let’s say the minimum mode is able to move at a speed of 10 kmph, the average – 15 kmph, and the maximum mode will allow you to travel up to 25 kmph.
As you can imagine, the maximum speed that the FIIDO L3 electric bike can reach was 25 kmph. Yes, if you descend from a large descent, you will be able to accelerate faster than the above speed. But I do not advise you to exceed the maximum permissible speed, as it will be unsafe for your life.
The built-in battery received a battery capacity of 23.2 Ah and, as my practice has shown, it will be enough for 25 km of mileage if you use only electric mode. If you help pedal at the same time, then the distance traveled increases from 70 to 130 km, depending on the operating conditions. A slight disappointment for me was the charging time, which took about 7 hours and is quite long.
I have already told you about the convenience of landing and moving around, but let’s share my impressions of driving in general. Despite the fact that the FIIDO L3 bike is very small and it is not very comfortable for large people to ride on it, it has great advantages. It is nimble and agile, so if you plan to navigate narrow streets, then this model of an electric bike will be a good choice.
Well, the last thing I want to share with you is about the brake system. The brakes on FIIDO L3 are very good, they stop the bike well and quickly. But you have to be careful with the surface you are braking on. As with strong braking, the wheels can be blocked and thereby cause the bike to skid.
Conclusion, reviews, pros and cons
After several days of active use of the compact electric bike FIIDO L3, I was left with a positive impression.
The first thing I liked was the good build quality and materials used. I also cannot pass by the most important feature – it’s about the foldable design and compact size. Thus, you can easily transport your bike in the trunk of your car or on public transport.
I also liked the power of the electric motor and the electric range. You can easily drive 25 km of mileage on pure electric traction and up to 80 km of track using pedals. I also liked it – it is a removable battery with a lock so that no one can steal your battery.
The main disadvantages I can attribute are rather small wheels and a very short wheelbase. For example, with my height of 185 cm, driving and sitting was not very comfortable. But if your height is less, then such problems should not be expected. I was also a bit frustrated by the lack of gears.
Price and where to buy cheaper?
Yes, the new FIIDO electric bike is a good choice. But you should be aware of the main disadvantages. If they do not concern you, then you can safely order this model.
Currently, you can buy FIIDO L3 at an attractive cost for only $879.99,if you use coupon FDL3EU. I’ll also leave a few other e-bike alternatives below.
