Chinese manufacturer Dreame, which exclusively produces devices for cleaning houses or apartments, has introduced a new model of a smart robot vacuum cleaner called Dreame Z10 Pro.
In fact, the updated version of the smart robot vacuum cleaner is practically no different from its older brother, the Dreame L10 Pro. But there is one interesting ability on board the new model of the Dreame device. This is the presence of an auto empty dock with self-cleaning debris and dirt.
I think many people thought about such a feature in order to completely forget about cleaning the robot vacuum cleaner from dust and debris. So now you can enjoy the new invention from Dreame. In this review, I will tell you not only about the quality of cleaning, but also talk about the main differences between the two models of Dreame Z10 Pro and L10 Pro vacuum cleaner robots.
As for the cost, at present the price tag for the new model of the smart robot vacuum cleaner Dreame Z10 Pro has not exceeded $440. For comparison, a device without an auto empty dock L10 Pro will cost you $308. Therefore, does it make sense to overpay more than $130 for the self-cleaning function of the container from garbage?
If you look at the technical features, then the new model of the smart robot vacuum cleaner Z10 Pro received absolutely the same features as its predecessor L10 Pro. For example, the suction force was 4000 Pa, and the robot vacuum cleaner is also capable of performing both wet and dry cleaning.
In addition, the device is powered by a built-in 5200 mAh battery and can work up to 2.5 hours. Okay, what are the differences between these models? This is the reduced capacity of the trash bin and the wet cleaning bin. Let me tell you about the reasons in a detailed review below.
Ok, now I propose to start my full and detailed review to find out all the strengths and weaknesses of the new generation of smart robot vacuum cleaners from the Dreame company.

Unboxing and packaging
A new model of the Dreame Z10 Pro robot vacuum cleaner is delivered in a fairly bulky package. The box itself was made of black and had a drawing with the depicted device on the front and back sides. Also here you could see the name of the model with the brand logo.
Inside the box, I found the following components – this is the robot vacuum cleaner itself, which was neatly packed in a plastic bag. It is also worth noting that all subsequent components were located in a separate package. This is a charging dock and of course an auto empty dock for removing garbage from the robot vacuum cleaner itself.
The package also included a container with a microfiber cloth for wet cleaning, a charging cable, instructions for use and a side brush. In addition, the Z10 Pro robot vacuum cleaner received an additional bag for cleaning the garbage itself from the device. Okay, now let’s talk about the robot vacuum cleaner itself in more detail.
Design, build quality and materials
As I said, the appearance of the new Dreame Z10 Pro robot vacuum cleaner is practically the same as the previous L10 Pro model. In fact, I did not have a device on the previous generation review, but given the information from the Internet and the available pictures, the differences in design have become very minimal.
The smart robot vacuum cleaner itself from the Dreame company was made of glossy black and gray plastic. It should be noted right away that the glossy surface was used only on the upper part of the robot vacuum cleaner body. But the side edges were already made of matte gray plastic.
I think that this is the right decision, since the device may touch your objects in your apartment or house. And a large number of scratches or scuffs would remain on the glossy surface. Other than that, I cannot say that the build quality was very poor. Quite the opposite, all the design elements were well connected and I did not reveal any extraneous squeaks or other sounds.
If you look at its dimensions, then the Z10 Pro robot vacuum cleaner received the following dimensions: 353 x 350 x 96.8 mm. And the device weighs about 2.9 kg and such a weight as for an intelligent robot vacuum cleaner is acceptable.
On the upper surface of the robot vacuum cleaner, there are three buttons – this is the spot cleaning mode, the inclusion of automatic cleaning and the return to the docking station for recharging. There is also a 360-degree LIDAR laser sensor for mapping in the mobile application and for better optimization of processes during cleaning.
If you look at the front of the device, you will notice many different sensors. This is a 3D scanner that analyzes everything that happens on its way. In addition, this scanner will be useful not only for avoiding various obstacles, but also for avoiding wires and cables, which often lie in the wrong place.
If you open the lid on the top of the device, then there is a container for debris and dust. There is also a cleaning brush and two LED indicators next to it. At the same time, the trash container has become a little smaller, namely 400 ml. For comparison, the previous generation L10 Pro had a volume of 570 ml. This was due to the fact that special bends are used here for picking up the garbage dock.
Okay, now let’s take a look at the bottom of the Dreame Z10 Pro robot vacuum cleaner. Everything is typical here, like on most other device models. For example, I discovered one spinning wheel and two driving wheels. In addition, there is one brush for collecting debris and dust. But the main rotary brush was located in the central part.
Also on the same surface, there is a container for wet cleaning with a capacity of 150 ml. At the same time, the last generation, like the waste container, had a larger volume, namely 270 ml. This was also due to the holes on the bottom of the body of the smart robot vacuum cleaner. Through these holes all the debris and dust is sucked into a large garbage container.
Now I propose to briefly talk about the auto empty dock itself for automatic cleaning of dust and debris. Its dimensions have received the following parameters: 302 x 403 x 483 mm. The docking station itself for self-cleaning garbage received a special bag, which will collect all the garbage from the robot vacuum cleaner.
As you can understand, the volume of this bag is not infinite and sooner or later you will have to remove garbage from it as well. Manufacturer Dreame promises that the auto empty dock is capable of picking up trash for 65 days with daily cleaning. In addition, through the auto empty dock, the device will not only be automatically cleaned of debris, but also charged.
Performance, functions and cleaning quality
If the structural part of the new Dreame Z10 Pro vacuum cleaner robot is slightly different from its predecessor L10 Pro, then the performance on both devices remains untouched. For example, the maximum suction power was 4000 Pa. This is a very good indicator, both for its value.
For comparison, devices from Roborock have a similar cost, but the suction power does not even come close to the value of models from the Dreame brand. This is due only to positive work during harvesting.
Inside the body of the new model of the robot vacuum cleaner, a similar 5200 mAh battery is also used. With automatic cleaning mode, the operating time of the device was about 2.5 hours. Or it could correspond to an area of about 250 square meters. The full charge of the battery of the robot vacuum cleaner did not exceed 3.5-4 hours.
In addition, the Dreame Z10 Pro uses a 2.4 GHz wireless Wi-Fi connection. Wireless communication is required to install a mobile application called Mi Home or Xiaomi Home. It is available for both iOS and Android operating systems. Pairing between the app and the robot vacuum cleaner did not take me more than 5 minutes.
In the application itself, I could observe the route of movement by the device and the laid map. But this card will appear after a complete cleaning of your apartment or house. Here you can also monitor parameters such as cleaning time, area cleaned and battery level. In addition, there are useful functions here, such as setting barriers, selecting the power of operating modes and much more. There is also the Alexa voice control function, which also works in a positive way.
As for the cleaning itself, compared to the previous generation, the cleaning quality of the Dreame Z10 Pro robot vacuum cleaner has become slightly better. For example, the manufacturer has increased the quality of cleaning on carpets, that is, soft surfaces. On hard surfaces, however, the L10 Pro performed slightly better. Below I will leave a graph by which you can observe the percentage ratio of the quality of cleaning between two models of devices from Dreame.
For example, during my testing, the device handled sand and small debris pretty well. I also liked cleaning carpets, especially the robotic vacuum cleaner that removed wool from my pets. Overall, the cleaning quality of the new Z10 Pro is pretty good.
In addition, it is worth noting here another important feature – obstacle avoidance thanks to the new 3D scanning sensor. That is, if you did not accidentally remove slippers, wires, charging blocks or other items, then the new model of the robot vacuum cleaner will easily bypass these items. This is a nice feature that has only proven itself in a positive way from a practical point of view.
I also want to talk about the noise level of the Z10 Pro robot vacuum cleaner. Depending on the selected operating mode, the noise level will differ. For example, in quiet mode, the noise level was about 60 dB, the standard mode showed a noise of about 63 dB, the strong mode was 65 dB, and the turbo mode had a noise of about 75 dB.
Conclusion, reviews, pros and cons
If you look at the design features of the Dreame Z10 Pro, they have slightly deteriorated compared to the Dreame L10 Pro model. Since here the volume of both dry cleaning and wet cleaning containers has decreased, respectively.
But the performance and quality of cleaning has improved a little, especially on the soft surface. But on hard surfaces, the previous model of the robot vacuum cleaner cleaned a little better.
Also on the positive side, I can highlight the presence of a very good build quality and materials used. In addition, I liked the work of the new 3D sensor, which scans all objects in its path. This feature will be useful for those who often forget to remove cables or other items before cleaning the apartment.
Well, the last thing I want to say is about the auto empty dock for self-cleaning from debris and dust. This, of course, is not the very first device model with such a solution, as there are other companies with the same feature. But do you need this feature? I think not really, since the auto empty dock takes up quite a lot of space and sooner or later you will have to clean it yourself.
Therefore, for me personally, I would choose the Dreame L10 Pro model, which has absolutely the same features and appearance, only without this auto empty dock for self-cleaning of the robot vacuum cleaner.
Price and where to buy cheaper?
Currently, the cost for the new model of the Dreame Z10 Pro robot vacuum cleaner is $437.50 with a 36% discount. But as I said, the last generation L10 Pro will cost you only $307.99.
Therefore, from this, I can once again conclude that I would buy myself exactly the version of the robot vacuum cleaner from the Dreame company without an additional auto empty dock for self-cleaning garbage collection from the robot vacuum cleaner itself.
