The Chinese manufacturer Chuwi has shown a good reputation in Europe for its cheap devices, especially last year. The manufacturer offers many cheap laptops and tablets that are unthinkable in Europe at such prices. Even with the import tax, Chinese devices are often much cheaper and better equipped than their local counterparts. Today I would like to give to your attention an updated version of the laptop Chuwi Lapbook Pro in our review.
In this article, I will analyze all the details, learn the pros and cons of the Chuwi Lapbook Pro laptop.
Now prices for the device Chuwi Lapbook Pro start for only $317. But I would remember the older brother Chuwi Lapbook SE which costs only $276. So is it worth overpaying? Let’s find out below.

Chuwi Lapbook Pro: Unboxing
We received the standard brown packaging for the test as on many Chuwi devices. On the front side of the box, we see the company logo and just below the inscription Intel.
On the back side of the box are the main technical characteristics.
Inside the box, everything is standard and without any surprise. Here we see a separate box in which lies the power supply for 12V and 2A and charging cable with Type-C connector.
The laptop itself is packed in a well-laid foam, so you can not worry that it is damaged during transport.
This is where the unpacking ends, well, it’s not surprising, even with top-end laptops from Acer or Lenovo you rarely find something more than a budget device. Now let’s talk about ergonomics.
Chuwi Lapbook Pro: Design and Appearance
Chuwi Lapbook Pro in our test is wrapped in a gray aluminum case that looks more like a MacBook Pro laptop, whose name it mimics quite easily. The same design is used in older brothers, for example, CHUWI LapBook SE and CHUWI LapBook Air.
If you look at it in expanded form, you will see a display with small frames around the screen, but the bottom of the frame is large with a gray company logo.
The highlight, in the truest sense of the word, is the back of the Chuwi Lapbook Pro, where any logo is already missing. Therefore, any person will not even guess what kind of brand it is and will probably think about Apple.
Chuwi Lapbook Pro in our analisis is a very thin laptop that can be easily transported when traveling or at work. The weight of the device is 1475 grams. The dimensions of the notebook are compact – 324.2 x 209 x 13.4 mm.
The laptop generally cannot be opened with one hand, as the hinge is relatively hard. If you just start raising the display, the whole bottom part will go with it. This is a minor nuisance in everyday life but in general a manageable flaw.
On the right side of the case are located USB 3.0 and 3.5 mm audio jack.
On the left side of the Chuwi Lapbook Pro is a Type-C port for charging and transmitting information and a micro HDMI port.
As for the Chinese laptop, the external interfaces have become very small, even the presence of one USB port will be a discomfort to use.
In appearance, I can conclude that the Chuwi Lapbook Pro is made of well-folded materials. The build quality is top level, in our test I did not reveal any squeaks and defects.
Chuwi Lapbook Pro: Screen
The quality of the display itself is good. Chuwi Lapbook Pro is equipped with a 14.1-inch and Full HD IPS display.
This is not a matte surface, as is customary in many laptops in this price range. Thus, using a laptop in direct sunlight is almost impossible.
However, the brightness is very good and is 350 lux, and you will have no problems with brightness in the daytime at home.
Also worth noting for a very narrow frame with the right, left and top side of the screen. Even the front camera for video calls fit on the top face. According to the manufacturer, the ratio of the laptop to the total screen area is about 90%. But in fact, I think it is less than 80%.
As one would expect from IPS panels, the Chuwi Lapbook Pro display also provides very good viewing angle stability.
The quality of the colors on the screen is very good for this price and they do not look pale, as is usually the case with many laptops in this price range. The colors are quite vivid and realistic, although, of course, it does not reach the level of much more expensive devices, such as Surface Laptop.
Unlike the Apple MacBook Pro, it has at least a modern Full HD display.
Chuwi Lapbook Pro: Keyboard and Touchpad
The keyboard on the Chuwi Lapbook Pro in our test has a relatively high lift and is still well done. The keys are slightly smaller than on many laptops, but you can quickly get used to them.
For typing, the keyboard is very good in everyday life, and typing is extremely good for a laptop in this price range.
However, the biggest drawback of the Chuwi Lapbook Pro English-language keyboard is the fingerprint of the keys. The buttons themselves are dark gray and the print is gray. Thus, the printed characters are hardly contrasted and difficult to read.
But it is worth noting about the presence of three-level backlight. When you turn on the keyboard backlight does not give a lot of light. However, the lighting is sufficient for use at night.
Compared to previous models, such as the CHUWI LapBook SE and CHUWI LapBook Air, the Lapbook Pro has a similar keyboard and it works quietly without unnecessary noise.
I want to note the power button in the upper right corner, which is located next to the Del key. Therefore, there will be a high probability of confusing keys, which will lead to discomfort of use.
The touchpad is relatively large, uses a precision Microsoft touchpad driver, and basically supports all Windows 10 gestures.
All multitouch gestures also work fine. However, the touchpad is problematic in terms of accuracy, because it is often difficult to point to an item on the display to click on it. But do not forget about the price, so I think this is a minor flaw.
Chuwi Lapbook Pro: Hardware and Performance
The Chuwi Lapbook Pro in the analisis is equipped with an Intel Gemini-Lake N4100 processor. The same processor uses the Lapbook SE and offers relatively good performance than most laptops in this price range.
Two additional processor cores make themselves felt in everyday life and in everyday applications, such as Chrome, Office, and in simpler, universal applications.
For example, you do not need to worry about how many applications or browser tabs you open, compared to cheaper laptops with Celeron dual-core processors, which usually have much less RAM. For everyday tasks, the Chuwi Lapbook Pro behaves in about the same way as the Surface Pro in the cheapest configuration.
The small games like Minecraft or older games can run on it easily. In principle, Photoshop photo editor works and simple things can be done and processed.
Video editing is possible up to FullHD and shorter clips, but a bit tedious.
What about memory? The device uses 4GB of RAM and 64GB of EMMC internal memory. Also on the rear panel, you can use the M.2 slot for SSD cards with up to 2TB of memory.
The speed of EMMC memory is not as high as on SSD drives. Below you can see the results of the speed test.
In the GeekBench 4 test, the Lapbook Pro laptop scored 1746 and 5131 points in a single-core and multi-core test.
In general, it is pleasant to use a laptop, but most likely for simple and uncomplicated everyday tasks.
Also running on Youtube in 4K video resolution will not be a problem.
Chuwi Lapbook Pro: Software
Fortunately, Chuwi Lapbook Pro comes with a very clean in our test, Windows 10 operating system free of viruses, additional antivirus or other annoying modifications and programs.
Also out of the box, the device has English, but in the settings, you can easily change to any other language.
In the menu Chuwi Lapbook Pro, you can find the Microsoft Store and install additional programs or games. This is a very convenient solution and many programs and games are free.
The user interface is stable and simple. During our testing of Chuwi Lapbook Pro, I didn’t notice any delays or other problems.
Chuwi Lapbook Pro: Sound
The speakers are located at the bottom of the Chuwi Lapbook Pro laptop case. At least they sound loud, but the sound quality wants to be better.
If you want to watch TV shows, YouTube videos and listen to music, of course, the volume will be enough, but not in noisy places.
Fortunately, on the right side, there is a 3.5 mm audio jack for your headphones. The sound in the headphones is much nicer and better than through the built-in speakers.
Chuwi Lapbook Pro: Battery
The battery life of the Chuwi Lapbook Pro in the test is very good for its price, especially for a laptop from China. With everyday use, with average screen brightness and active keyboard backlighting, we reached just over 8 hours. Thus, got a very good result.
The battery we have has a capacity of 37.24Wh or 5000 mAh, which is quite enough.
It is also worth noting about the presence of fast charging 12V and 2A, which will allow the laptop to charge a little less than 2 hours. Charging is carried out through the connector Type-C. But you need to use only the standard power adapter, charging directly through the power bank is not carried out.
Chuwi Lapbook Pro: Conclusions and Reviews
Chuwi Lapbook Pro in our review impresses with really good equipment, especially for less than $317.
In general, using the proven power-saving Intel Gemini-Lake N4100 processor makes the Lapbook Pro the best device in its class.
But I also cannot point out any shortcomings, even 4GB of RAM will be small compared to previous models. For example, the CHUWI LapBook Air had 8GB of RAM.
Also, external interfaces are very weak, the presence of ports is minimal and in the future use will not be comfortable. All these minor flaws take into account their price.
I would like to mention a good bright screen with Full HD resolution and modern small frames around the screen. The build quality and materials at a good level, everything is assembled perfectly and without any complaints. Autonomy Chuwi Lapbook Pro work was about 7-8 hours, which is an excellent result.
Chuwi Lapbook Pro: Price and Where to buy cheaper?

Briefly describe the Chuwi Lapbook Pro as a classic with a slim body and lightweight laptop for easy transportation and everyday performance.
