If you are a regular reader of my blog, then most likely you might have heard about the BYINTEK brand. If not, then I will briefly tell you that he makes home portable budget projectors. Therefore, today I have to review another model of a new projector called BYINTEK K20.
Every user is interested in what inexpensive projectors are capable of. And today I will share my impressions and discuss its technical features with you. Also, you will find out the quality of the projected image, the main advantages, and disadvantages.
But before we talk about the technical stuffing, let’s say a few words about the price. The basic modification will cost you about $210, but with its own operating system, it will cost you $250.
From the price, it’s not hard to guess that the native resolution of the projector is 1080p, however, like most competitors. The manufacturer also guarantees a good brightness of 500 ANSI lumens, a high contrast ratio of 15000: 1, a screen size from 50 to 300 inches, and much more.
In terms of specifications and price, the new projector is very attractive. But I will not jump to conclusions and propose to start my detailed review with a complete set.

Unboxing and packaging
The box of the new BYINTEK K20 projector is made of a quality box with a beautiful and colorful picture. That is, on the front part you can find a drawing of a projector with its purpose – for home use.
The box itself has a sturdy carrying handle for easy transport.
Inside the box, I was greeted by a small box with basic components. In it I found – this is a power cable, a simple remote control, a tulip cable, and an HDMI cable with a length of 70 cm.
Further, under the box, I found the projector itself. And here I want to draw your attention to the fact that it is packed with high quality and will reach you without any questions. All corners are well protected, and the projector itself comes in a protective shipping film.
In general, the equipment is quite typical for inexpensive projectors. There is everything you need for full use, as for home purposes. But if you plan to transport it often for work or study purposes, then I advise you to purchase a special protective bag. Also, if you do not have a tripod or a special bracket, then it will definitely not bother you for the projector to stand firmly.
Design, build quality and materials
The exterior of the new BYINTEK projector has a typical rectangular design. The device is made in white from matte plastic. It is quite practical, but dust attracts very well, both to the outside and to the inside too.
There is a metal-like plastic on the top of the projector body, although in fact it is made of plastic. Physical control buttons are also located here. Such as turning on, switching sources, right, left, up, down buttons. That is, all the necessary buttons are the same as on the control panel.
The focus and tilt control rings are located on the side end on the left side. Of course, not the most convenient location, but the rings spin very smoothly and accurately. There is no automatic autofocus.
There is also a heat dissipation on the left side, and on the other side, there are openings for cold air intake.
On the front, a lens was installed on the left side, which is closed with a plastic cover. In addition, there is an infrared sensor for the remote control.
There are basic connections on the back of the BYINTEK K20 projector. These are VGA, two USB ports, an AV port, and a headphone port, a power port. There is also a 5W speaker.
Additional ports such as a memory card slot and two HDMI ports can be found on the right edge. This is a standard list of external interfaces as with most projectors. But this list of connections is not small and connecting many devices will not be a problem.
At the bottom of the projector, there are connectors for a tripod and an arm. There are also four rubber feet here.
As I wrote above, the package includes a simple and standard remote control. It has a minimalistic appearance and very much resembles the remote from the Xiaomi brand. For anyone interested, any user can purchase a remote control with a six-axis gyroscope. With it, you can easily manage it in the settings menu, so the purchase will definitely not be superfluous.
In general, the projector itself is assembled very efficiently and sturdily. If you do not know its real price, then it is difficult to guess that it will cost you a little over $ 200. Now let’s talk a little about the features and picture quality on the big screen.
Functions, features and image quality
Before talking about the picture quality, let me share with you a little my impressions of the noise that the projector emits. I think a lot of people know that a projector heats up pretty quickly and needs good heat dissipation. Therefore, the noise from the device will not be small. In the case of the budget model BYINTEK K20, the noise ranged from 45 to 55 dB. Naturally, the noise will be less if you sit further from the projector.
In practice, when watching films, I did not notice any strong background noise from the projector. I would also recommend using external speakers. Since one speaker with 5W power does not give strong admiration.
One interesting feature I liked about the BYINTEK K20 projector is the zoom and tilt adjustments. The maximum tilt angle reaches up to 50 degrees and this is not a bad indicator at all, as for a budget projector. This way you can set the projector slightly at an angle from the screen and in digital mode display the picture with the correct display. Of course, it is better not to resort to such measures, as the focus may not be uniform over the entire area of the projection screen.
If the projector was correctly positioned to the screen, then I did not notice any blurry edges. Again, as for an inexpensive device, this is an ideal indicator for displaying a picture.
I have a version of the projector without an operating system since I don’t see the point in it. I usually use external TV boxes or game consoles to display the picture.
In the case of video views, I did not see any strong flaws. The picture is always smooth and bright. Colors are rendered perfectly with a natural tint. Another interesting indicator for me was the contrast ratio of 15000: 1. At the same time, black is really black, even not in complete darkness.
The brightness of the projector is 500 ANSI lumens. As practice has shown, this value is sufficient for comfortable viewing. Yes, watching videos during the day will be problematic. But if you use the device as a presentation with closed curtains, then the text is read very easily and comfortably.
An important feature of BYINTEK K20 is the native resolution of 1080p or 1920 x 1080 pixels. The projector is also capable of playing 4K video, but the picture will be displayed only in 1080p.
The optimal video viewing diagonal was about 120 inches. The device is capable of playing videos from 50 to 300 inches. But I see no reason to use more than 120 inches, since the quality deteriorates a lot, both in brightness and in the visibility of pixels.
If you buy this projector for games, then I can not say that it will be the ideal choice. Of course, you can easily connect your game console or smartphone via HDMI or USB cable and play. The colors are quite saturated and vibrant, but the disadvantage is the slight latency and weak frame rates.
Conclusion, reviews, pros, and cons
The BYINTEK K20 is another decent home projector with an attractive price tag. The device received a high-quality assembly and good materials to use.
Also, the projector has received a good design with a minimalist style that will suit any interior in your house or apartment.
The picture quality is very rich and vivid with realistic colors. At the same time, the focus is clear across the entire projection screen.
Given its low cost, I did not find significant disadvantages during my testing. Therefore, I can recommend purchases easily and calmly.
