This phone boasts its price of about $30 and good protection against water and dust IP68 standard.

There are other special features, such as an FM radio without the need for a headphone connection, a special light on the top and a loudspeaker.

However, this is what concerns the functions. The main functions are calls and messages (which are written on an old-fashioned physical keyboard) that performs well, but there is no touch screen or any other common today’s functions, however, when evaluating a phone, it should always bear in mind its price.

So let’s begin our full review of the Blackview BV1000 and below is a table with specs.

Blackview BV1000: Specifications

Blackview BV1000: Design and Appearance

The box is the same as the phone. The small and compact box, there is the cell phone itself, user manual, power adapter, micro-USB 2.0 cable and screen film.

This Blackview BV1000 in the test is a real rugged phone is small and compact. Its dimensions are 130.8 x 61 x 17 mm and its weight is 160 grams.

Blackview BV1000 Review: Incredible Rugged Phone for Only $30

It’s quite thick, more than 2 cm, which is partly due to the thick enough battery inside, but the thickness of the phone ensures the strength and security that the phone will not break even when it falls from high altitude on a solid surface.

The headphones and charging holes have special rubber closing caps. It has an IP68 rating which means it is completely dustproof and should be able to withstand diving at a depth of 1.5 m to 30 minutes.

It comes in 3 color combinations – black with black, yellow or green accents.

There is no selfie camera on the front, there is a handset on top, below it is a QVGA screen with a resolution of 240 × 320 pixels, size 2.4 inches, and under the screen, there is a physical keyboard.

The screen, of course, is not good for today’s situations, but for what this cell phone serves (calls and messages) it does not need any better.

Blackview BV1000 Review: Incredible Rugged Phone for Only $30

The keys of Blackview BV1000 in our analisis are good and there was no problem with them. From the bottom side, there is a micro USB slot with its own special rubber cover which additionally protects the phone from entering the water.

On the top, there is a 3.5mm audio jack, also with its special rubber cover, and next to it there is a flash.

So the flash is not used for shooting but is already up. The flash is not very strong, which should be due to the size of the device and the special position it has. The flash on each smartphone is stronger than this, which is disappointing.

It turns on with the special button located on the right side of the device. One click on the lamp, while a double click flickers the flashing light, and after a few seconds, the SOS character (it is because it flashes quite oddly).

On the left side, there are 2 keys to amplify and reduce sound. All 3 keys on the side are rubbery and quite rigid and harder to press them.

On the bottom, there is a 0.3-megapixel camera without a flash. The camera is, of course, bad, but nobody has this cell phone to do something special.

Below the camera, there is a cover that is fastened with 4 screws that need to be removed to get a battery that can be easily removed, and the bottom of the battery are slots for 2 standard SIM cards of the old size and with an SD card slot.

On the bottom part of the latter is a loudspeaker, but the problem is that it is minimal, as it is, but is very loud. Also, the loudspeaker, although loud enough, does not produce pure sound as loudspeakers on modern smartphones.

Blackview BV1000 Review: Incredible Rugged Phone for Only $30

The Blackview BV1000 looks a bit hard in hand, but it looks very solid and safe. When held in his hand, he does not even feel the fear that something might happen to him but gives the impression that it can withstand the heaviest downsets, which is confirmed in the tests seen on YouTube.

It is not particularly nice, but as noted above, this device does not serve to be nice or having a lot of functions, but it is solid and well performing the basic tasks, what it does.

Blackview BV1000: Display

The screen of Blackview BV1000 has a 240×320 pixel QVGA resolution of 2.4 inches. The screen is, of course, not very good, but again, it satisfies the price and function.

No one is expected to watch movies on this phone, so that’s OK. However, the main objection to the screen is that it is not viewable at larger angles.

Under bigger angles, all colors are distorted and the device can not normally be used. Eg. when the screen looks up at a sharp angle, all the colors are turned negative and make the screen useless.

The similar color distortions occur when the device is viewed from the side. When the device normally uses no problems and satisfactorily performs basic functions.

Blackview BV1000: Hardware and Performance

The hardware is the weak point of this Blackview BV1000. This phone has a MediaTek MT6261 processor, only 32MB of RAM and also only 32MB of storage, which is expandable with up to 32 GB SD card.

Blackview BV1000 Review: Incredible Rugged Phone for Only $30

The BV1000 has really little internal memory and if you want to use the device normally, it would be smart to insert an SD card.

What’s good is that the device is resistant to damage, has an IP rating of 68 and is specially strengthened to protect against damage and falls.

Also, perhaps the only useful feature of this phone that can not be found on other phones today is that this phone has an FM radio that works without any additional antenna and without plugging in the handset.

The radio signal sometimes breaks a bit and it depends a lot on how to hold a phone in your hand. Another thing that is very irritating is that the radio can not listen at a low volume.

Blackview BV1000 Review: Incredible Rugged Phone for Only $30

Even the radio was minimal, it’s so loud that you wake up to the neighbors the night. There is a very small difference between the loudest and the loudest loudspeakers.

The loudspeaker is generally quite loud, although the sound is not very clean, with the problem of constant volume already mentioned.

Another special feature is a special light bulb that has a top of the phone that pops up with a special button on the right.

If a special lamp has already been placed on the top of the unit, and a special button for the ignition only, then that lamp should be strong and illuminate the entire room.

By contrast, this light is light and illuminates only the narrow part of the focus. Of the other features, let’s say that it has Bluetooth, and that’s actually about connectivity.

Blackview BV1000: Software

This is not a smartphone, so there are no special applications or app stores, but the operating system of Blackview BV1000 consists of 12 icons that are arranged in the menu. There are so few that we can list them all, that’s – File Manager, Phone Book, Call Center, User Profiles, Messages, FM Radio, Multimedia, Audio Player, Camera, Settings, Services, and Tools.

Usually, on today’s phones, it is assumed that the phone has everything that is not specifically mentioned.

However, this Blackview BV1000 in our test has so few additional features that we can mention all the special features it has. These are Power bank, Calendar, Alarm, Calculator and Lamp and as previously mentioned FM radio without cable.

Blackview BV1000: Camera

The rear camera consists of only one camera with 0.3-megapixels sensor. There is no flashlight, no focus or any other things you get accustomed to on modern phones.

Blackview BV1000 Review: Incredible Rugged Phone for Only $30

The camera is barely usable in daylight, and at night it is completely useless. If you do not have an SD card in your phone, you can save only 2-3 pictures on the phone, and video recording cannot even be started.

The default resolution of the camcorder is 240x320, and although it also offers a resolution of 160×120, 320x240 and 640x480 in resolution, the other resolutions again returned to the factory resolution of 240×320 pixels.

Blackview BV1000 Review: Incredible Rugged Phone for Only $30

The images can be wirelessly transferred to a computer or other device only via Bluetooth.

The front camera is even worse, and this is only possible because it is not at all.

Blackview BV1000: Battery

The battery is one of the bright spots on Blackview BV1000 in our analisis. The battery of this device is very large for this kind of device with these features.

Blackview BV1000 Review: Incredible Rugged Phone for Only $30

The battery has 3.000mAh which allows for long-lasting operation without the need for regular charging.

Since there is no touch screen and there is no modern function, long battery life can be expected.

Blackview boasts that this large battery allows 15 hours of talk time and even 25 days at rest.

Blackview BV1000 Review: Incredible Rugged Phone for Only $30

It’s difficult for these figures to be fully accurate in real-life use, but you can still be sure that this phone will stay securely longer than modern smartphones, and that it will rarely need to be charged.

However, there is no percentage display of the battery, but the icon changes at very large intervals so you can never know how much more exactly you have left.

Blackview BV1000: Conclusions and Reviews

In conclusions, Blackview BV1000 is designed for a narrow circle of users who meet the basic functions, i.e. messages and calls, and who want a long-lasting battery and a solid rugged phone resistant to shocks and falls on different occasions.

Blackview BV1000 Review: Incredible Rugged Phone for Only $30

If you find yourself in this description, this device may be for you, however, if you have more needs than the most basic, there are many better devices that also have the great battery and rugged design, and they also have many more features.

Of course, we should also mention the price, which should certainly be taken into account when compared to other phones. So, let’s see the price of BV1000.

Blackview BV1000: Price and Where to buy cheaper?

If you need a reliable and affordable phone for calls and SMS, then this is a good choice, as you can now buy Blackview BV1000 at a low and good price for only $31.99 at a 20% discount.
