BenQ is known for its projectors and today I would like to share my impression of using the new model called the BENQ TK800M in our review.
In this article, I will try to make out the main features of what the projector is capable of in action and is it worth it to buy?
At the moment, you can buy the BENQ TK800M projector at an interesting price – $1369.99.
For the money, you get a projector with a native resolution of 4K video, the brightness of 3000 ANSI lumens, projection size from 60 to 200 inches and much more.
I will not delay, let’s get down to a detailed review and take a closer look at the new projector.

BENQ TK800M: Unboxing
A rather large box came to me, it has a not stand out design. On the one hand, I see the name of the company and the slogan: “Vivid, Living Room, Entertainment”. On the side, a sticker with the main specs is glued.
Inside the box, I found a charging cable, remote control in protective plastic cellophane, as well as for instructions with a disk and two batteries for the remote control.
The BENQ TK800M projector is packed in a foam seal, so the device will not be damaged during transportation.
As for its price, the equipment on the projector is not very large. I would like to see additional accessories, such as 3D glasses or a protective case for carrying the projector.
BENQ TK800M: Design and appearance
The BENQ TK800M projector is made of white and blue plastic, which is very pleasant to the touch. The plastic is well assembled and upon examination, I did not find any defects or large cracks. The assembly was done honestly, but taking into account its price-quality materials and the assembly could not be worse.
Besides, it is worth paying attention to size and weight, since they are not quite small here. The TK800M received 353.0 x 272.0 x 135.0 mm and a weight of 4.2 kg. Of course, you cannot call a portable projector, but if you need to take BENQ to work, then carrying it will not be a strong problem if you do not do it often.
On the front side of the projector, as I said, there is a blue insert that makes the device stylish and youthful.
Also an LED lens with a protective plastic cover. Near the lens, I see the inscription 4K and on the left, there are air vents for cooling.
On the side faces of the BENQ TK800M, there are also ventilation grilles for active cooling and one built-in speaker for 5 watts of power. I will talk about the sound quality a bit later.
On the back, there are interface ports such as audio output and input connectors, a VGA port, two HDMI ports, mini USB and Type-A ports, as well as RS-232 and I2V Trigger. A little lower left is the port for power.
There are two rings on the top of the projector for adjusting focus and zoom.
Besides, the device control buttons are located right there, similar to those on the control panel. Such as the power button, back, menu, modes, resources, control up, down, right, left and OK buttons.
On the bottom surface, there are three legs for adjusting the angle of inclination, one of them is movable, and the other two are unscrewed like bolts. There is also a hole for attaching to the ceiling bracket.
The remote control is made in a rectangular shape and the corners are almost not rounded from white. There are many control buttons, but they are all functional, and there is also a button backlight. The remote is powered through two AAA batteries that come with the kit.
Appearance and build quality and materials at a decent level. The BENQ TK800M projector in our test is also multifunctional and has a large number of ports for connecting external audio or video sources.
BENQ TK800M: Performance and Features
The BENQ TK800M projector is designed for home use, watching movies or TV shows. The color rendering is set to a high level and therefore it’s good to watch sports channels or play games through the game console on the device.
BENQ TK800M received 3000 lumens of brightness, this value is enough to watch movies in a darkened room, but in the daytime, it will be problematic to watch media files.
The projection screen size is between 60 and 200 inches. The optimal size is up to 150 inches, as the image quality will be well saturated and bright enough.
With a contrast ratio of 10,000: 1, the black color is saturated and the color rendering is realistic. While watching a video, the image quality has a good color gamut.
Another of the main features of the projector is the native resolution in 4K format with 3840 x 2160 pixels.
Naturally, the quality of the transmitted image is clear and detailed, so blurring is hardly visible even with large screen size.
The projection distance from the projector to the screen is 1 to 9 meters. The distance depends on the required screen size, the farther the projector is from the screen, the larger the screen size will be. The long-distance is typical for DLP projectors since laser projectors have a much shorter distance.
Also, the cinematic color rendition of Rec.709 of more than 96% provides an accurate, realistic color palette.
In the projector settings, you can adjust the tilt angle of plus and minus 40 degrees. Even if your projector is at an angle from the screen, there will be no problems with the transmitted picture.
As I wrote above, this projector model can be used both in the office, at home or for educational purposes, but the main feature of the BENQ TK800M will be watching sports programs or playing games.
As for the sound, the presence of one speaker at 5 watts of power is not enough, especially for watching movies.
For better and surround sound, the manufacturer has prepared an audio output and input in advance.
If you listen through a standard speaker, the sound is clear and without extraneous crack and noise. Also, resonance was not detected even at maximum sound volume.
Support for 3D mode allows you to watch your favorite movies in the best resolution and good color reproduction.
Unfortunately, the availability of 3D glasses is not included, but you can buy them at any local store in your city for a small price.
BENQ TK800M: Conclusions and Reviews
The BENQ TK800M projector in our review is not the cheapest DLP projectors in its class, but it is worth considering the wide range of characteristics that this model gives us.
First of all, this is a full-fledged projector with a native 4K resolution and good brightness for home use.
High contrast, the presence of 3D movie viewing mode and many other features inherent in the TK800M projector model.
The long lamp life allows you to use the projector for 10 years if you watch the BENQ TK800M for 3 hours every day.
The high-quality assembly and materials make the device attractive in your living room or office. The color scheme of white and blue makes the projector youthful.
BENQ TK800M: Price and Where to buy cheaper?
Now you can buy a projector BENQ TK800M at a low price for only $1369.99 at a discount of 17%.
Is this model worth its price? I can say that yes, since the presence of 4K resolution, high contrast and many other features makes watching movies incredibly interesting.
